Wasn't she planning on doing a PhD at some point? Although, in my estimation, she always undermined the amount of hard work, dedication, and time that goes into getting a PhD.

I've been reading this thread for a while and I've agreed with so many things that have been said so I had to make an account to be able to contribute.

Jess could so easily make sit down videos like she used to years ago – makeup looks, Q&A's, ANYTHING but the fact that she sticks with content that's not inspiring for her (which in return doesn't give her the views or positive feedback, no doubt uninspiring her even more) or enjoyable for her viewers to watch just confirms that it may be time for her to take a break to think about where she wants her social platforms to go.

It's such a pity that she seems to be really unwell mentally, and I do feel for her and her difficult family situation, but maybe it would do her some good to take some time off and then maybe come back to youtube etc when she's ready to produce content again. I doubt she needs the money so desperately knowing her background.

I'm currently studying in Edinburgh and still go back to watch her old vlogtobers for the cosy vibes. I used to want to be her when I was younger, such a shame she seems so unhappy with her life at the moment.

In fairness to her about being happy, since leaving uni her auntie passed away with cancer, her father and step family moved to America and her mother was diagnosed with cancer, on top of everyone else’s unhappiness/anxiety of being in lockdown for most of the year. If we’re going to say she’s young to have a baby, I imagine that’s a lot for a young person to deal with.

Promise I have criticised her in the past in this thread, just never understood the argument she should go get a job, because most jobs are bloody awful.
I don’t feel that critical of her, I more feel a bit disappointed for her that she can’t get out of a rut. She’s had stresses recently but unfortunately life is horrible

I dont think she needs to get a job, You Tube pays so technically she has one.

It’d be great to see her do something that’s not showering, reading a book, or having dinner. The idea of being able to read books all day is appealing in theory but she seem to lack purpose & we don’t all need a job but I do think we need a sense of purpose.

Do you know what good for her! If this is what she wants! I actually think they’d have one hell of a good birth video if they decided they wanted to publish it, Zak can clearly get good shots and Jess has good music choice! Ah! Hope everything goes well for her!

in that cases I'd guess her parents paid a hefty cash deposit and they have small mortgage 😂😇

I agree how problematic out dated opinions on gender roles are..... I also think it's fair to question why someone's partner is on the bank roll of a family member. That's not normal. Getting back to chauffer around your partner's mum, run errands, cook for relatives, etc. is quite strange no? It doesn't matter whether that person is the father or mother. Relying so much on your parnter for your income is scary.
I agree about the reliance, I think one of the most important things a woman can be is financially independent, but I also think people should be given a choice without judgement.

There’s no evidence he’s on the family payroll, just that he works for Jess. Perhaps he’s just a nice person and wants to drive her mum to appointments, and enjoys cooking tea?

Maybe I’m in a minority, but I really don’t see a problem with someone’s partner working for them. If you’re going to have someone work for you anyway, why not see if family want to first? Especially your partner because it helps reduce tax liabilities if anything.

Not sure when he quit his job, but perhaps when she found out she was pregnant they both decided to split the load of parenting and work and that’s why he now works for her?
He quit quite a long time ago. If I remember correctly, Jess was bored sitting alone at home at night whilst he was out at his chef job and so they came to an agreement that he would quit and “work” for her.

I'm not trying to contradict your post, but she's the one posting clues, pregnant pumpkins, obvious photos, and captions that hint at a pregnancy, so she must know that people are going to speculate?

She's a vlogger, after all, she chooses to put her private information out to the public for a living. It can't all be easy money and flattering comments without any cons, just like any other job out there.
I agree with this as well.

The thing is I feel like pregnancy is pretty private. I personally cringe at birthing vlogs and honestly the whole family vlogging thing in general. I'm sure she will share some things about her journey, perhaps a full video like what Kiley Jenner did.

Whatever the case is I think Jess just doesn't feel like documenting her preganacy for the entire internet to see. It's obvious she doesn't do well with too much criticism so I cant imagine the comment section about how she has no job neither does her baby daddy. How can he get you knocked up and not propose? He doesn't have a job? That's crazy your house isn't even done. etc etc. (and I'm being nice here)

I don't see her under normal circumstances able to withstand all that especially not now with her mom and the general state of the world.

She honestly seems miserable. Based on her vlogs I dont think it has really hit her or Zak what's about to happen to them tbh.

So while she is opening herself as a vlogger sure, and putting little clues, I dont think she is ready to open the flood gates either.

And I do not blame her what so ever.

Some fair comments about the sponsorship. Is she going to reply to them though? Nah.

Honestly I've no idea how she gets away with having ZERO interaction with her audience on social media, seeing this is now her actual job. Can you imagine if I get my monthly paycheck but refuse to engage with my clients? Seriously what's wrong with her.

I don't really know what Zak does all day to be honest if he works for her. She doesn't upload videos regularly at all, and updates her insta sporadically. So what does he do exactly?

Also I'm sure he's a nice guy otherwise her mum would never let him be in the house and fund them both, but yeah I'm curious about the dynamics too.
I also find this very awkward. Imagine living so lavishly in your significant others mums home and doing so little. Given the standard of everything the family eat, wear, and do, it's just not conceivable that Zak is popping out to Primark on Saturday mornings to get his jeans and socks. It's obvious that Jess' money (i.e. her mums money) is his as well. Then again, maybe I'm too judgemental, as I don't think I would find it so uncomfortable if Zak were the wealthy one sharing it with Jess...

My guess is that maybe he does freelance photography and editing, although there's no evidence of this anywhere. He did work for LADBible so might have carried some contacts from there, and just does freelance photo or video editing from home. But I would also absolutely not be surprised if he doesn't.

I think the issue with Jess is she never really communicates about what direction she wants to make. Not that she owns anything to us, but I think it would make much more sense if we could have some insight from her. Instead we are left to guess about how she feels/what she will do in the future. I think other influencers communicate their intentions much better to their audience than her. And that makes them much more engaging and relatable.

I just can’t get my head around what Zak must do all day 🤯
We all know Jess is lazy and counts reading a book as a productive day, but we’ve never seen any signs of Zak lying around reading too.

I’m pretty sure Zak is on the mum’s payroll. He ferries indie to school everyday (and probably picks her up as well) and I can’t imagine them letting him do this for free (I mean I’m sure he wouldn’t mind as he is part of the family) but I agree with others who have mentioned his cooking too. I think that’s more of a regular thing he does and probably gets paid for that. Jess mentioned he would drive her mum to appointments too. So he probably gets paid a salary from the mum and separately from Jess as well for the videography/editing/photography. Maybe even freelance on top of that.
