I see jolly Steves latest home school learning aid for Lacey is some tell the time placards for a 4 year old. Poor girl hasn't got a chance.

He has a massive brass neck to insult Liam making a BLT at school. Lacey is the same age and her entire home economics lessons for the past year has involved melting chocolate to make Rice Krispie cakes. Does he not want her to be able to get any sort of qualifications at all.

They’re actually taking the piss trying to make out like Lacey is homeschooled. It’s a bloody joke.

Have they said what the plan is for Lacey? Will she do GCSEs and gain qualifications when the time comes? She may only be 12 but this will be here before they know it and she will not be prepared. I understand Lacey has additional needs but the answer is not to hide her away at home. There is support out there they can utilise to help her and set her up for the future.

Could they have not waited until the weekend to do that? I wonder if the other kids resent Lacey for basically being allowed to do very little work and stay at home?

Have they decided at the tender age of 12 that Lacey isn’t capable of having a life outside of the house? She is regressing more and more each day she misses school. It’s getting to the point where she won’t even be prepared enough to sit foundation level GCSEs. Liam will be doing all sorts of lessons while Lacey is still on basic times tables. Yes there are successful people in the world without an exam grade to their name but those people weren’t basically held prisoner in their own home because their parents couldn’t be arsed to travel to a suitable school so their child could have an education. They let her anxiety fester everyday to the point where she won’t want to get a job ever. It’s a joke how they don’t see how much more harm than good they’re doing. I am making an assumption here but I’m guessing Lacey’s anxieties to do with school were mostly based on the school not understanding how her brain works and making her do things massively out of her comfort zone. Staff in a specialist school would be a lot more qualified and understanding of how SEN brains function.

I agree with everything you say. I know a few people who homeschool and they research lessons and topics. Most stick to the curriculum so that their children can sit exams . Steve seems to think telling the time has to be Number 1 priority over everything. They had a place for her but Steve couldn’t be bothered driving to the other side of town . If it was that far away anyway she would have been given a taxi by the council . She would have been thriving by now . Steves own abilities to homeschool seem to be very early primary school so that is where he is keeping Lacey. If she had trouble with socialising locking her up 24/7 is not the way to help. He has done not one thing to help her with that.

The bottom line is that Steve is thick, as he admits himself. He has never had the desire to be a teacher or put any time into learning for himself, never mind for the sake of his daughter. And the primary curriculum gets harder and harder every time reforms are made. The things they do in year 5 and 6 now are things we’d have probably done in high school. I did placement as a TA in a year 2 classroom as part of my degree and the children were labelling different parts of a plant with the scientific name - I had no clue😅. He doesn’t have the ability to teach full stop, regardless of how easy or hard the lesson is though.

My younger sister has autism, she’s about 6 years older than Lacey but started off at a regular high school where she was diagnosed. She moved to a specialist school in year 8 and with their support for learning styles as well as sessions to help cope with her anxiety, she started university last September AND moved out into halls. Her school helped set up support for her at university. Lacey can do all this if Steve put some effort in to try and get her the help she needs, instead they have written her life off at just 12 years old. It’s so unnecessary. She will eventually be too far behind to ever catch up with people her age. It’s all very very sad.

It’s so upsetting. They can’t keep her in in their bubble for life. She needs to go out there meet people

I think Steve is awfully selfish and uses Lacey’s issues to his advantage. I assume they get some sort of carer benefit for her and it’s another excuse for why Steve has to slob about at home all day and not go out to work. Don’t know how he can let Rach go out and earn money for the family whilst he does nothing.

They actually went out yesterday. Steve spent the whole vlog from start to finish moaning about literally everything and anything he could and of course 'Lacey was definitely nervous'... she's flipping nervous because you put it in her head that she needs to be!!! Honestly it's angered me so much! Why can't he just enjoy the time, out of his house with his family and stop putting his own anxieties on to his children? I just do not understand it. I have anxiety but i still enjoy my life and don't make other people want to feel anxious because I am ESPECIALLY not my children... Those poor kids...

I couldn't believe it either, from start to finish he wanted it to end. I don't understand it at all. His impatience and hate of leaving the house is no doubt going to affect all the kids (already has with Lacey).

She didn't seem nervous to me (easy for me to say only watching a few minutes of a video, of course I'm not there in person) she wanted to go to Starbucks and seemed genuinely excited to go. She only seemed to worry about getting the lift at the start of the video. I do suspect he's slightly playing on Lacey's anxiety so it seems worse than it is.

Lacey is his meal ticket. The reason she doesn't go to specialist school is probably so he can claim carers allowance for her. He pushed for home schooling because if they didn't all the kids would've been in full time education and the prospect of him having to get a job was looming. Her education progress has stalled completely but the social skills aspect is non existent. It will be interesting to see if he can cope when the hormones kick in and he has to home school a stroppy teenager who doesn't want to sit at the kitchen table learning the six times table or paint a picture of a cat.

He’s such a misery. Even the day before the shopping trip he was saying he wasn’t looking forward to it. Then when they where out he just kept moaning. How draining having to put up with that. Even if he feels that way, he should be more enthusiastic around the kids, who where probably looking forward to being out and spending their money.

He absolutely plays up Lacey’s needs. She doesn’t look as nervous as he makes out. Even if he thinks she is nervous, he should just try being positive, reassure her how well she’s doing, not ask her if she’s nervous 🙄 I honestly think he wants her to be worse than she is. He uses such negative language around her and talks a lot about being nervous and anxious and not liking things.

He had the audacity to laugh at Liam for making a sandwich, but has he even thought about teaching Lacey something like that? That’s life skills surely. He just wants her to be so dependant on him. It’s cruel to not let her become independent and have some sort of life.

Someone replied to his shopping vlog saying all he did was moan, moan, moan. People jumped on saying he wasn't moaning, and to stop posting negative stuff! As for Hendry, he does my head in. Steve loves a sycophant lol
