Sums up the shambles LinkedIn has become these days: fed up of tit like this and endless polls about WFH for engagement 🤦🏻‍♀️
Eugh it’s the worst, it’s become so relentless these days - such an unbeatable platform of people constantly trying to one-up each other.

Always got a weird vibe from this Steven guy to be fair, The Social Chain was just a case of right place, right time and fine he got lucky, but I don’t see how getting lucky making a social media splash makes you some kind of guru?
He just seems really pretentious and I get sick of seeing his preachy tweets grabbed and shared all over the internet, get over yourself hun.

Can’t stand how he sounds when he nods and say yeahhhh after a guest says something he draws it out to the point it seems sexual but forced and that he’s bored and doesn’t give a tit about what they are saying anyway he’s just using these guests to get him more famous he’s a pretentious gob by the sounds of it

Or that hmmmmmm he does all the time proper goes through me 🤮🤮🤮

He sounds like he just wants to get onto the next question, or bring up something about his girlfriend

yeah he sounds bored out of his brains and has no interest in anyone but himself he just reminds me of a creepy guy who would be a proper leech and would creep on girls basically bragging about how much money he has shut up no one cares it’s really off putting

Something about this guy just doesn't sit right with me. He comes across as very odd, constantly contradicts himself and clearly a buller. There's no doubt he has some money, but I don't think its anywhere near the 60 - 300mill value on Google. His company Social Chain AG is publicly listed, but he or his ex business partner don't have any shares which makes me think if they were kicked out by the investors and they lost their shares, possibly even before IPO. I've had a looked at their company Google reviews and it does seem that they were involved in some shady practises like using bots and buying views and engagement. I don't understand how the guy is so arrogant, boastful and narcissistic when he came from a humble poverty background as he claims. He's now apparently doing a theatre play about his life story and the success he achieved, it's so much validation seeking behaviour. The guy just doesn't come across as a "business" person, seems to be more about spot light attention for him and is using the entrepreneur mask to get it as much as possible by going to the media. He's a complete fraud IMO.
Hate when these “influencers” which I think use that term to hide the fact most are all self absorbed narcissists use the whole love and light charade and law of attraction and manifestion it’s bad bad spiritual practice to be a self absorbed narcissist to brag about money and stuff all the time spirituality is not about material things believe me sick of them all preaching love and light when most of them are the most nastiest people you could know

He said something on the latest ep of dragon’s den about wanting to meet someone so assume he is single. Did anyone see it?

He's on Loose Women today, definitely can talk the talk 🙄

Can’t make my mind up about him. On Dragon’s, I like him. Breath of fresh air. But I don’t like HIM. I think he has a sly face, which he can’t help, but it’s off putting. I listened to an episode of his podcast, it felt false. He has made a success of his life, so easy to get big headed. But his big headedness is wrapped around positive messages and motivational stuff which confuses me/makes me suspicious. I also think he may not be entirely honest about his sexual leanings, which is none of my business of course. But if he is being dishonest about that it calls into question the rest of his persona. Has anyone read his book? Happy sexy millionaire, or something like that.

I know what you mean about the sly face, of course people can’t help how they look, but paired with his attitude it just makes him appear sneaky.. haha

haven’t read his book and wouldn’t dare even pick it up with a title like that 🤢

He seems to be obviously gay, wether he knows it or not. It seems for someone who pursues an intentional life and positivity he isn’t honest with his true self. Definitely has a sneaky face I wouldn’t trust him

I have just bought it on Kindle. No one can see me read it! Only a few chapters in. It’s very readable but haven’t got to the meat of it yet.

Haha undercover kindle, I like it! 😂

do keep us posted!
So I bought the Kindle version this morning. I have read 60 % already. Sadly, some of the stuff in it is too late for me, but I am really taking it in and a lot of the stuff he says resonates. Some of it I will take onboard, particularly the section on Respond don’t React, which is something I am apt to do. I am facing a situation at the moment when I will find that particularly helpful.

You have to overlook the many references to how well his multi millionaire empire has done (standard for these type of books, and his cockiness, which is understandable given his success at such an early age) but it is very readable and helpful actually. The part on compound interest should be read by those in their 20s and 30s, he explains it well. I wish I had read that when I was younger.

This is not a book about economics I hasten to add, it’s about life. He says he had no ghost writer, and I have no reason to doubt that, and it is concise and to the point, but not dry and boring. This book is really aimed at the Instagram generation - the ones swayed by social media and influencers, and who are comparing themselves to those people hustling on social media and who think that is the way to success. He is very scathing about the hustlers and their stronghold on millennials and the instant gratification junkies.

Some jarring bits, he talks about loneliness and how Silicon Valley has made a whole generation of people lonely, with their lack of contact, the viewing of life through a screen, consumerism, the marketing of services that just bring stuff to you etc. But I think that is perhaps in conflict with his business. I don’t actually know that much about him, but on Dragons he will be looking at pitches that are about consumerism. He has already been vocal on there about using social media to sell. So, some conflicting messages there. He is part of the problem. I have a feeling that he will become a bit of a philanthropist later. I hope so.

So, I would recommend based on the 60% read. I read a lot of self help books, and very often I reach a quarter through and abandon it. I have read a lot of his book today, so at the very least I can say that it has engaged my interest, and I am looking forward to watching Dragons more intensely from now on, to see him more in operation. I still am on the fence about him in person, but I am enjoying the read, and finding some of it very helpful.

Thoughts on him getting Matt Hancock / Gina Colangelo on his podcast?

Neither of them are 'CEO' material but tbf I can see why he'd want them on, given the potential for Molly-Mae esque headlines. Surprised Hancock is taking the risk but then he is now a bit of a modern day Dave Mellor
