Again having done his plan, I’d agree wholeheartedly. According the the plan grilled chicken, boiled potatoes and salad is a bad meal for me, but if I put the overpriced seed sprinkle on top it doubles the score, same if I add one of the gut shots to a meal for the bargain price of £2 a pop. Feel like it’s a massive con (and yes more fool me for shelling out 😂)

Tim Spector has said so many ridiculous things that I have no trust in anything he's saying. Nutrition expert my ass. He also says a lot of things that vilifies specific foods which is just such rubbish. No one food is going to make or break your health. I honestly believe anything he says is just marketing to steer people towards his products rather than genuine scientific advice
Yea 100% agree. When you have a financial interest in selling a product, that's when I really question the authenticity of the information these "influencers" spout on their platforms.
Having a financial interest (ie Tim Spector/ZOE) is quite different from being paid to talk about/sell a product (ie brand partnerships that lots of influencers do).
Which is why disclosure is so important... and that comes back to the Steven Bartlett issue.

Anyway, Tim Spector needs his own thread!

I used to really like Tim spector, went to some talks by him seems really knowledgeable etc but since he started these stupid products it's so obvious he's just basically a brand

Honestly, the more people who see through Steven’s absolute bs, the better. I’m so sick of seeing friends / past colleagues sharing ‘quotes’ from him like he’s some kind of messiah. So cringe.
I'm sick of him too, he's overrated! Sick of seeing people resharing his quotes on Linkedin! Went into WH Smith the other day and his face was on a huge display flogging some books! Aaagh!

I think he might have gone into voiceovers too. There is a radio ad, might be for BT internet. Sure it is him. Why does he need the money that badly? It’s lucrative but he has loads according to him, and isn’t driven by £

He has got quite a bit of money but I don't think anyone knows how much as it's all smoke and mirrors and the figures he gives out for social chains worth are way after he sold it.

Think the ad is for Huwai? Something to do with phones. Maybe he has a stake in that company.

Ash Jones - does the name ring a bell for any of you?

Ash worked at Social Chain with Steven Bartlett in the early days and carved out personal branding as his niche.
He left Social Chain to start his own agency before the Lumaland acquisition.
He provides personal branding strategy as a service to founders and CEOs. I suppose you could call him the Olivia Pope of personal branding 🤣

I credit Ash for Steven’s personal social media growth in terms of reach and numbers. Ash knows how to work a good story especially for founder led businesses.

Here’s a screenshot from his LinkedIn, just some of the high profile founders he worked with.
He’s also worked with Umar Kamani of prettylittlething, Ben Francis of gymshark, Chris Donnelly (another agency founder) but not sure why he didn’t list them. Maybe NDAs are in place but who knows 🤷

Notice he also worked with the Huel founder.

That’s a bit of niche knowledge for those of you not in the industry. In fact even if you work in marketing, I don’t think this is very common knowledge unless you follow Ash Jones.

What an aptly titled article! Really enjoyed this one.

The best paragraph:
But make no mistake, Bartlett is a man of the zeitgeist, one who’s vision and lexicon seems perfectly tailored for the age of LinkedIn nonsense and Instagram-hustling. His persona chimes with a mass cultural movement, one that believes life is a code that can be easily cracked through a steady, joyless routine of protein, podcasts, ice baths and mantras. He’s a door-to-door salesman flogging not a product, but a way of being – a used car dealer for the soul.

Daily Mail had a very negative article about him yesterday. Wonder who is behind this sudden focus on him? Lots of negativity recently. His backstory as as many holes as an Edam cheese.

It’s about time people started seeing through his BS, I’m all here for it.

I think he's the Emperors New Clothes and people will eventually see it
The problem is there are so many people like hik on social media, half the time when I see clips of people talking about their success being down to ice baths and waking up at 4am or whatever I'm unsure whether I'm watching a parody or something real. It's depressing

I’m so glad I found this thread as I always saw him popping up and when I looked him up I wasn’t sure what he actually did and thought I was missing something.

Funniest thing, Aimee Smale (multi millionaire owner of Odd Muse who acts as if she is hard done by constantly) received a FIFTEEN minute voice note from Steven the other day. She posted about it on TikTok.

This man truly is an egotistical hole isn’t he, who on earth honestly thinks someone they don’t even know wants to listen to a 15 minute voice note from them? 😭😂

He knows what he's doing, he will never help a black man or woman entrepreneurs and and help them scale, his whole team is full of grace andrews, he only puts his name to people that look like his whole team and his dad

He is a fraud as has been mentioned

And now he's got a podcasting business helping other record podcasts

Hes full of tit, and best believe he didn't reach out to her because she needs help, he already knows who she is and is doing it for what he can get out of

I've always thought that people who leave long voice notes are wicks anyway.
