Yeah, I've never got the vibe he's been taking undisclosed freebies (I obviously could be wrong) and it could just be bad timing but the free birthday thing and the free cruise being posted at the same time makes it feel like there's been a shift in his content.

I was recommended a video on YouTube tonight called something like 'Steve Marsh has done more for Cunard's marketing than their own marketing team has' but I didn't watch it. I dunno, I feel like if you are minted enough to spraff twenty grand on a cruise Steve's video isn't going to convince you do it, but maybe it will for the Norway one? I think it's about £5k - £7k when I checked (bearing in mind not that long ago he said he'd love to go on it but could never afford it!)

Also I don't think they've done a vid of the lodges but he does post out of sync with his travels so I guess they might do at some point. Although I don't think he posted it on his IG, just Alicija, so maybe it won't make the channel. I did notice the channel blurb is now updated to "we" so I think it's going to feature them both going forward. Like I say, I did like videos with them both but I've unsubbed now as I'm just liking his stuff less and less.

It sounds like when booking you pay for the lodge and not per person. So looks like Steve did get the free stay as it was a 2 person lodge even though it was only gifted to Alicja according to him. Why not just say that Steve.

Yes, this is probably what happened. Either way, it was free and he didn't pay for it so he should disclose that for transparency. Not addressing it makes it a lot worse as it's so sneaky. Disguising it using the fact she was offered it and not him and that she disclosed it on Instagram isn't good enough.

It's bizarre, isn't it? I subscribe (with ad-block enabled...) to Steve for the low-fi, budget friendly travel content and didn't even know he had a thread until 20 minutes ago. When I saw how it had gone crazy with posts I honestly wondered if I should put the news on as he'd hijacked a North sea ferry and declared Foula a Democratic Republic or something. Instead it's a pair of weirdos being weird. Must be tall poppy syndrome "Jings, there's no M&S in Montrose!"

Yeah, when someone posts over 80 consecutive messages on one thread in a short time, I find that a bit concerning Nobody cares that much, surely. Ignore button is a gem indeed.

Edit: On a second thought, why is this guy's thread even in Families section? Doesn't he do just travel vlogs? Maybe I missed his hidden wife and ten homeschooled kids in between the travel content.

Lots of YouTubers don't have the begging bowl out for patreons. Dale Philips. Bald and Bankrupt. The Macmaster, a few I know of.

1) Two out of three of those people have 10x the subscriber count Steve does. Obviously they make a shit ton more than someone like Steve from YT views alone. I don't think creators with smaller followings need to "pay their dues" and for some bizarre reason spend years earning very little from their efforts with the hope of one day accumulating a massive following and living off Ad Sense alone, do you? Why?

2) This Macmaster person has a donation link and a shitty low effort merch store.

I don't know if he or Dale do sponsorships, I do not watch them. If they do, then that negates this entire conversation. I don't believe B&B does but I could be wrong, I don't watch him regularly.

3) And? What again is the problem with providing your supporters the option to subsidize your content? This isn't some hard sell where the bucket is being passed around the church and the struggling parish guilt tripped to donate. It's "if you like what I make and want to see more, feel free to join my Patreon".

I will also just add as a side note that Steve, like or dislike his content, is not grifting. He does not make trending, exploitative bullshit content. And that counts for something.

Someone asked in the comments was this not gifted and it has been deleted! This is very dodgy now..... I skipped to read the travel notes as I couldn't resist and he said it cost 300 quid per night. He has carefully crafted it though, hasn't confirmed he paid for it, just mentions what it cost at the time.

Him deleting proves it's sinister and why would she be the only one to get a freebie. I believe the freebie was for them both.

I haven't watched the video but I've just googled a two night stay over a weekend in December and it's around £1.5k. Pricey, yeah, but that's a) for a weekend and b) in December, when I imagine it'd dearer. Plus that's a weekend where you have to book two nights, so you could probably do a weeknight in a different month and it be substantially cheaper. Even at £1.5k, there's no way he couldn't afford it, especially as he can surely offset the cost of some of it as a business expense?

Every time I've looked at his Patreon recently his subs have gone up - currently at 6,205 subs making $6,566pm (Alexa tells me this is £4,868pm). Yes there'll be fees/taxes etc, but still. If you can't afford it do what normal people have to and save up!

I quite liked last night’s video. It was classic Steve in a number of ways, a bit of moaning and everything going wrong but nothing too annoying. It did seem to be over very quickly, it was more ‘here’s a few bits from our holiday’ than a proper holiday review. The first thing I said to my partner was I wouldn’t sit there on the plane you’ll have bums in your face all flight and that did end up being the case. That’s what you get for cheaping out. The worst room in the hotel and the worst seats on the plane. You’d think he’d fork out the £11.50 per head to choose your seats instead of two aisle seats not even together. I wouldn’t have been happy with the hotel or Jet2 putting me in an unmade room with an active leak in the roof and then washing their hands of it. They customer service was shit.

Are the seat in the front row nit usually quite expensive? They did say in fairness it was all very last minute and when she went to book seats, all the window seats were booked out.

Thought this post from the Ordinary Adventures thread would be a good talking point here. I have watched them for years and I remember being a bit annoyed at Peter posting Kitra’s injury on their cruise all over social media.

A Tattler poster compared this to what Steve did when Alicja had an accident hiking. I replied to the poster as I didn’t think anyone on here watched him.

I then later discovered that this thread had been resurrected!

Hahaa I gotta say i'm not a fan of any kind of meat chunks floating in soup, the noodles are ok but not meat, i can only eat tiny bits of meat in soup, i'd have to take the meat out and eat it seperately. It was nice to see in Alicja's mum's house, it looked very traditional inside with the Polish style decor. I wonder why Alicja decided to come to the Uk? I gotta say her English is very good.

I mean... that sounds right. I'm sure they don't make any sense to people who believe gems like: Steve Marsh makes 500k quid a year, Steve Marsh is running an intimidation campaign and blackmailing vulnerable people to subscribe to his Patreon, Steve Marsh fabricated a timeline to conceal exploitation of his partner that lead to a minor knee injury, that selling merchandise produced in sweatshops and taking PayPal donations is more ethical than Patreon, that public toilets are cleaner than peeing outdoors, and that posting images of large live animals defecating is normal behavior when something that is completely untethered from reality is questioned.

Unfortunately you do feel it's worth replying to me. Sometimes eight times in a row lol. For my money, I'd rather you keep your focus on shining a spotlight on Steve Marsh's criminality and his life partner's tooth.

In all seriousness, please complain to the mods that someone asked clarifying questions or corrected misinformation instead of me. Or have pity on me and just ignore me.
