Yes, there’s no way he did not have his pics and videos backed up. I don’t believe he doesn’t pay for the additional cloud storage and he would have definitely had travel insurance. You are also right about the complete disregard. He does this a lot and even on the cruise, going to decks he shouldn’t be on. The two of them have massive egos and I will await their downfall. I like to see people do well but those two are fake and beggars.

On a side note. How infantile is she trying to look? She’s dressing like a child and carrying about teddies on her trips. The boots/jumper/short dungarees

I used to enjoy watching Steve’s videos, they felt organic and genuinely like a guy who enjoyed traveling and recording for his YouTube.
That has completely changed for me, I can’t say it’s fully Alicja but that has been part of it.
Steve has become even more miserable and I hate when they say oh well that will make the video good (when something minor goes wrong). Also I agree with the comments about the phone, something seemed very strange with that.
Then the zooming in on Alicja in her bikini or bum, the child like manor of her clothes and the teddies it just makes me feel ughh

I’ve started watching other YouTubers like Phil Carr, Chris Howett and Ed Chapman (how does Phil have hardly any subscribers compared to Steve!) and you notice the enthusiasm and energy, the joy of traveling and showing you everything plus the top effort put into recording and editing of videos, and it’s hard to go back and watch Steve.

Funny to see this topic because I just watched his Southampton to New York video and, until his partner spoke, I thought it was his daughter. So I came here to see if it was just me and can see others thought the same!

I only watch him casually and I've only ever seen his solo videos, hence my query.

That said, he seems like a friendly and decent guy and he's transparent about pricing. Never seems to make unwarranted whinges nor does he act entitled. I watch quite a few travel vloggers and, compared to most, he's good.

I'm less keen on Scott from Planes, Trains, Everything. He's okay, but often comes across as moody and usually pulls the same "chewing wasp" expression. I've also seen a few videos where he brings his son along who says next to nothing. I get his son isn't a vlogger, but if my Dad did YouTube for a living and I didn't want to talk on his vlogs I wouldn't go on his trips.

I used to watch when it was just Steve but they've gone the way of many others and introduced a partner. I watched because I was interested in a person travelling on their own. That usp has now changed and I felt really uncomfortable with the amount of times he called her 'honey' or similar in the last video or a how many times she was saying that she was going to have a shower.

Someone asked in the comments was this not gifted and it has been deleted! This is very dodgy now..... I skipped to read the travel notes as I couldn't resist and he said it cost 300 quid per night. He has carefully crafted it though, hasn't confirmed he paid for it, just mentions what it cost at the time.

He has featured videos of places near where I live, and I've found his reports to be quite accurate. Therefore I trusted his judgement when I recently went to a place that he'd featured, and I felt his recommendations were spot on. I like Alicja too - she seems to be so good-humoured, and up for any challenge. I haven't ever really noticed the big age gap between them. They seem to be happy and the main attraction of his - and Scott's 'Planes Trains and Everything' travel vlogs is that they do things on the cheap, and um....that suits my budget too!

The amount of people sending him money in the comments is wild! Yes he got his phone stolen but I am sure the views on the video will pay for a replacement, plus the costs of his trip. Find it bizarre with his line of work that he did not pay for Cloud storage

Well if he couldn't live off his YT earnings then he shouldn;t have given up his job then, simple, even without patreon he is earning enough to support him and her per month. It looks like she's chosen to be with him due to his YT popularity and the fact he has his own flat and a car, she ain't daft, she's chosen an easier lifestyle for herself. Nobody is obsessing, we're only giving our opinions, a healthy discussion. Mind you, i have to say that some of us are more tuned into them than others

I'm sorry but what? If a creator can't live off YouTube earnings exclusively then they shouldn't give up their conventional 9-5 jobs? Is that what you're saying? If so, why? Why shouldn't creators use platforms like Patreon to support themselves? Why shouldn't artists/creators have patrons? What year are we living in?

It's so weird how having a car is being glamorized like this massive be all end all status achievement where a woman from a country that is part of the EU is long-term dating an older man to gain access to... being a passenger in a car. What year are we living in?

For some reason I always thought they were married and that she was about 5 years older than she is, she doesn’t feel my age. I don’t have any kind of issue with her and my own partner is 11 years my senior, together since 21. Lots of people seem to have a visceral reaction to age gaps but everyone is in different stages of their life at different times. As long as one isn’t particularly more vulnerable than the other and there’s no power imbalance it’s not a big deal. I’ve known plenty of couples who don’t share a bed but usually it’s because of logistics with kids and it just being easier or because one of them snores and the other is a light sleeper.

I have a real issue with parents who just relax and look at their phones while their kids run wild so I get that one. Get out there and play with them! My daughter knows I’d be seriously annoyed if she was disturbing other passengers by screaming etc. Screaming isn’t playing. He was generally very moany though. The ship breaking down wasn’t something predictable and it did seem disorganised but also, your job is chilling on a boat today so just get on with it! I couldn’t believe the person they gave his room removed his stuff, gave it to reception and moved in - wouldn’t any normal person go back to reception and say hi there’s clearly someone in this room you’ve assigned me can I have a new one.

Yes. This thread is severely troubled and truly strange. The appetite to project all this malice and conspiracy on this random travel content creator and his albeit odd but seemingly mutually gratifying relationship with this inoffensive younger woman is kind of off the damn charts. Like did Steve Marsh kick someone’s dog here? Did Alicja sleep with their dear hubby? What is even going on.

I see travel influencers everyday on YT who are generating unethical, exploitative, horrifying content doing things like poverty tourism and milking every possible dodgy revenue stream out there and getting so many freebies. Meanwhile Steve (and Alicja) is producing original “wholesome” content full time and seemingly paying his way (with support from subscriptions and Ad Sense) and minding his own business, but somehow he’s being held up as a predator and others who use similar or patently worse revenue streams get an inexplicable free pass.

I enjoy some gossip and I’m harshly, nastily critical of many “lifestyle” influencers who are mainly walking sandwich boards for overconsumption. But,like, this Steve bozo and his odd kind of charming girlfriend are just showing us cool, quirky, beautiful, and sometimes just ho hum places on earth…

Listen, it's one thing you giving your opinion on these Youtubers (be it positive or negative) which is allowed on Tattle, but it's another thing when you start having a go at other Tattle members in the comments, that is not allowed on this site! Name calling other tattle members ain't allowed either and trying to start arguments in the comments ain't allowed either. Just move onto a comment you like or why don't you post something??? contribute to the thread instead of creating an atmosphere

To be honest I could care less about the actual content of the posts in question even if I find them a bit odd to say it politely but the main issue here is you both spamming the thread as its your personal chatroom which as I understand it is also against the precious Tattle Terms of Service you hold in such high regard.
