I quite liked last night’s video. It was classic Steve in a number of ways, a bit of moaning and everything going wrong but nothing too annoying. It did seem to be over very quickly, it was more ‘here’s a few bits from our holiday’ than a proper holiday review. The first thing I said to my partner was I wouldn’t sit there on the plane you’ll have bums in your face all flight and that did end up being the case. That’s what you get for cheaping out. The worst room in the hotel and the worst seats on the plane. You’d think he’d fork out the £11.50 per head to choose your seats instead of two aisle seats not even together. I wouldn’t have been happy with the hotel or Jet2 putting me in an unmade room with an active leak in the roof and then washing their hands of it. They customer service was shit.

Yes, the customer service of Jet2 wasn't great, but they did get their room sorted the next day once they had a chance to speak to the manager. They were the last people to check in at 11pm, so to be fair, I think the guy at reception did his best until it was sorted in the morning. As my husband pointed out, Jet2 are pretty much a glorified travel agency, and as Steve himself says later in the video, the hotel they stayed as was more geared towards Tui customers (another travel agent; part of Thomson group).

Many moons ago, I went to Portinatx as a 6-year-old with my mum and dad. It is definitely the spot to go to get away from the rowdier side of the island in the south. I remember the bus forgot about us when we went on a tour and we had to walk all the way back to the hotel! It was also much colder than we were expecting in October.

Side note: is Alijcia (sorry if I've spelled her name incorrectly) studying on an online course for something? I feel like that's been mentioned a few times.

We went there about 30 years ago. It was a lovely resort. I'm happy to see it hasn't changed much and been ruined by greedy developers.

I’m pretty sure out of all the vlogs he does and she appears in a handfull she probably does actually work full time, you only have to go on social blade to see he’s not making mega money. So she’s hardly living the high life off Steve

Yes I agree. I much preferred his content when he was on his own visiting all the weird and wonderful places and the awkward travel arrangements. It was enjoyable and he is pretty good at it. She's in it far too much now, for me anyway. As poster mentioned above, there's not much wrong with his content, but small changes can make a large impact on YouTube, I personally find.

Yeah a lot of his trips could have been gifted and he's broken YT rules not declaring it. I'm not sure how much the QE2 trip was.

I think what the original person meant was that Steve doesn’t do sponsored videos like surfshark/travel SIM cards,etc…all
YouTubers have ads that run through their videos?

It's up the each Youtuber on the amount on ad's they have in each video .
Steve M has none apart from the start & end. WHY THE ADS? It's my income, I can't do this for free. Notice I don’t have mid-roll ads though!

DO YOU ACCEPT SPONSORSHIPS? I don't like to upset the flow of my videos, so I don't even include mid-roll ads anymore (at significant loss of income to myself)......

This year alone she's been to Tenerife for a week. Helsinki. Dublin. The Queen Mary for 8 nights then NY for a week and other places I cba lookin up. That's some amount of days off already and we're still only in September.

a vlog that stands out for me is the searching for UFO in Bonnybridge ( I think it was) called, and he sent Alytsia for a dominos pizza while he sat in the tent and it was dark. I would have told him to f off.

That’s what’s getting me. Fair enough a just turned 31 year old, do as you wish, but she’s with a 54 year old, how does that look with her cutting about with teddies? We're living in the Age of Stupid, that's what.... People paying these Youtubers to watch their videos when they're free to watch??? It sounds like a lot of these YT followers have money to burn. They should give money to people that need it like charities, homeless etc It's 2025 luv and most people have a real job, they go out to work or work from home and earn a living. YT is not a job.

These videos exist in the quantity they do because the creators make money via sponsorships or subscription/donation platforms like Patreon. There would be no weekly videos to watch for free if a subset of the audience weren't subsidizing a creator who doesn't do sponsorships via a subscription service unless that creator is independently wealthy/flush with free time. There is an audience that wants this content and wants it regularly and will pay to ensure it keeps coming. Creating that content is a job. It's paid labor. Labor can be enjoyable. Enjoying it doesn't discount it as labor.

I don't know what this boomer mindset is that people shouldn't earn money from their hobbies. How austere and utterly antiquated and soulless. Artists and creators shouldn't earn money even if people want to pay them for what they produce because...doing shit you like and other people appreciate isn't a job?... A real job evidently requires alienation of labor, i.e. like being a marketing drone in a corporation making someone else rich. Misery.

Aye she’s no a Bonny lass. Very mousey features but looks like she may have got her discoloured tooth fixed. Her confidence has certainly rocketed with the old creepy subscribers commenting.
