You said "to be anything other than British white now must be terrifying" 💔

that's a very silly statement and dramatic
But it’s really not. People aren’t targeting white British people (apart from white British police), they’re targeting anyone else they come across of a different culture, religion or race. We’re all witnessing this first hand in city’s across the country. You must live in Delulu land

I’m seeing lives in Sheffield outside a hotel that I’m assuming is housing asylum seekers and they’ve apparently just stormed in/trying to set it on fire with people inside. What the fuck is wrong with people?! These are human beings

My eldest son lives in Manchester. He’s 34.

He was born in Newcastle but we moved down to Manchester when he was 8. His Dad is from Singapore and he has his skin colouring. I have told him to stay indoors today. What has this world come to. He is British through and through, has lived his whole life here. Today (every day I suppose, but particularly today) he risks getting beaten to a pulp in his home city because he looks like a ‘Paki’.

*edit to add that even if he was an immigrant it wouldn’t make it any worse, but hopefully people understand what I mean!

If we had British Pakistani or Black British gangs of men smashing up shops, targeting white people, roaming round off their heads, battling with the police, carrying weapons in en masse, coordinated mobilisation in several cities across the UK today it would be called a terrorist attack and extreme action like the army would be called in.

Normal, decent people don't want to go out today. My son is playing a gig in Bradford and my daughter has been shopping in Leeds. I'm really worried for their safety. This is a disgusting act by these people. The government need to get a grip. I can't believe what I'm seeing. It's 2024!

I wish all these men who have attended the rallies actually cared about violence against women and girls. It would go a long way to helping stop the misogyny that has infected our lives.

That is good of him but I am sick of people being called fascists or far right when anything has been questioned. We are lucky we haven’t experienced actual fascism
We are very lucky indeed but the reason fascism died down was because of government crackdown and active pushbacks from people. What we are seeing on our streets is violence caused by fascists. People attacking one group of people and blaming them for the problems in society. If people don’t want to be labelled as fascists, they shouldn’t be following the same path as the fascists in the 1930s did. Smashing up places, setting fire to police stations, attacking people etc. is not what you do, the damage is left upon communities to pick up, the ones to who don’t agree with these cunts on the streets.

A library is hardly a disruption..

It's not a hospital, clinic, or a place of that much importance
It really is, I know maybe if you don't use libraries their importance may not seem that obvious but they are definitely one of the backbones to a functioning community. Our local libraries (I'm nestled between two) run great child groups and elderly groups and reading clubs etc. It's more than just free access to books, which imo is nothing to be sneered at. Knowledge is power!

Realistically non of us know the motive yet. But there have been rising tensions and I think trust in the police has broken down. They didn’t have any capacity so were running away in Leeds yet they managed to arrest a couple of 70 year old women for ‘leaflets’ the other day. I’m not saying I want them to go Dirty Harry on everyone but actually if you join the rozzers then you need to be aware you have to do a bit of physical work and put yourself in dangerous situations. I don’t have the answer of what they should do but it feels like the trust has been lost.
I actually feel really sorry for the police. They can’t do anything right in people’s eyes. They’ve been cut to hell, have done everything by the book with this murdering scum bag and still get grief! They do an extremely dangerous job, more than ever at the moment with the amount of people carrying knives and yet they have very little power to actually do anything! They don’t get paid a huge amount, work shifts and have to deal with permanent shit and speculation from the public! People should be turning their hatred elsewhere and I fear that these ridiculous riots by absolute scum of the earth is taking emphasis away from the fact that 3 innocent little girls have been murdered in cold blood and the other victims will have to deal with this appalling trauma for the rest of their lives with possible life changing injuries and PTSD!
Let’s face it, these orchestrated riots have absolutely been an excuse for violence and hatred against ethnic minorities!

Perhaps not appropriate to post here but:
I would like to acknowledge that today a ceremony is being held, in Northern Iraq, to commemorate 10 years since the Yazidi men, older women and children were killed en masse by ISIS. Also the woman and girls captured and sold into sex slavery, with some still remaining enslaved by their captives who remain active in small pockets.
I would also like to acknowledge the Kurdish female and male military who fought on the ground to destroy ISIS but remain stateless, without a nation of their own.
Thank you.

he looks absolutely dead behind the eyes
Something just not adding up for me the police made so much emphasis on him being 17 and that’s why they had to protect his anonymity, then the judge overruled and the mail and the Sun put an application in for his name to be revealed. I’m just like that it was revealed and he just said happens to be 18 next week also the court drawings look like a completely different person to the photographs just my opinion
What exactly doesn't add up? The police can't name a suspect under 18. Only a Judge can rule that the reporting restrictions can be lifted, which is what happened today. Press outlets can, and regularly do, challenge reporting restrictions. Sometimes they win, sometimes they don't.

This is an entirely normal chain of events

If they use autism to cover it up I will be fucking disgusted. My son is severely autistic, non verbal etc and it’s hard enough trying to get people in this day and age to accept him and understand how additional needs work without actual murderers getting given the benefit of the doubt because their brain works abit differently. It shouldn’t matter what kinds of diagnosis he has he’s murder innocent kids and tried to murder a lot more. Scum

Very dramatic and silly
How is that?? People are getting punched in the streets, places of worship are getting set a light, shops ran by people of a different culture are getting smashed up and looted plus abuse getting hurled at them in the street. The only thing ‘dramatic and silly’ is the racist scum doing it.

People are rioting because they’re fed up. Yes there’s better ways of doing things but people are fucking angry! And they seem to be getting demonised more than a child knifing, murdering, sick fucking monster who went in court and SMILED!!!

Misinformation is still being spread, people are still attacking Muslims on social media. He was born in Cardiff and is British, one who went to Christian schools. The racists will still be out in full force attacking mosques and punching people of colour in the streets for their own agenda. Everyone saying ‘he doesn’t look Welsh’ like every single person on earth looks the same, people probably look at me and say I don’t look Scouse until I open my mouth

very cruel comment considering you know nothing about me and where have I said the riots are acceptable🤔
It's only a library isn't it? No it's more than that it's a one stop shop and mental health support, not really the point though, it's our area and I cleaned the debris, glass and utter mess at 2am while fires were burning around me. I Don't think you get the point. Your a dickhead.

The media are not helping matters by publishing a photo of the murderer as a child.
When has this ever happened before?

I find this so insensitive. He murdered primary school girls as a strapping 17 (nearly 18) year old - but they are circulating images of him as a primary school boy.
I don’t recall them ever doing this before with people who have committed the most atrocious crimes.
What are they trying to do? It’s insulting and insensitive.
