Being against mass migration / illegal immigrants or boats does not mean that you are not against the riots - it is possible to see both as an issue.

I speak to a cross section of society day in day out in my job and bar none are all are v concerned about the levels of migration in this country….simple as that. What is the answer well that the million dollar question ! What is right wing about that…nothing ! And stop bullying just because others have views that don’t align with your own….

100% and the vast majority of posters on here do acknowledge there is an issue with mass, uncontrolled immigration and I’ll include myself within that.
What is very very evident is how certain posters choose to express their views/feelings which are entirely racists or laced with racism. So although two things can definitely be true, it appears for the majority of people they are for the riots and against immigration of any sort (mainly brown people)

It might seem regressive to us, but a lot of religions require people to wear head coverings. It’s about being modest in front of god, that you are not above god and the bells and whistles that we have are about being false idols. A lot of religions such as Judaism also believe in seperation because it’s about men being together and women together.
the Christian branches just go with whatever to try and get people to actually attend church you can come in pjs so long as you go. That’s why they welcome anyone to be christened too even if they don’t go to church or live nearby, but the church is pretty!
I think one of the issues is that people have been told that illegal immigration is the cause of all the issues in the country.
Correlation is not causation. Yes immigration has risen but immigrants are not the reason there is a 7.5 million NHS waiting list and it sure as hell isn’t the reason that mortgages have gone up.
if we are to look at correlation then consider the fact that actually reported violent crime has gone down in the last few years as immigration has gone up. Would you look at that inverse correlation and say, hell yeah, let’s get more immigrants in? No because in reality life is much more nuanced than that and two things can get worse without being related to each other, just as some violent crime may not be being reported at all or is reported differently and that has led to the falling figures
as for the whole anecdotal, no one I speak to is happy with immigration, I have friends with widely differing opinions on the subject because nothing is black and white.
Broken record time folks: whatever your views on immigration, the riots are not and can never be justified.
(oh, and for those people who think religions have Poor attitudes to women, agreed, but it goes so much deeper than that in society. Breaks my heart that as someone who lived through the seventies and eighties when we seemed to make so much progress, the value of women is going backwards. That is probably a discussion for another thread though)

Thank you for finally answering! It’s not bullying, it’s a genuine question as a lot of what you have expressed is parroting of the classic lines.
So if you, a person who is frustrated by immigration, cant come up with any plausible solutions you can put forward then you might need to try learn a bit more about the system itself to then be able to suggest some reforms to it.

There are conversations to be had about uncontrolled immigration but no one ever has the balls to have a proper one for fear of offence and I think that's when the likes of Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage exploit people.
Then there are just far right racists who don't really give a tit other than they don't want to see brown faces on the streets.

Why do people think we have uncontrolled migration? The last government introduced a points based system for skilled migrants (no unskilled) and the previous one had something similar. During our EU membership, EU citizens could come over to work or whatever, but this stopped when we left. Asylum seekers are a different issue

The Rochdale lot seem to have been moved into a residential street? So now they’re causing a nuisance there
I wasn’t involved in that conversation personally and didn’t read it in a huge amount of detail. It’s completely possible for someone of colour to have concerns about immigration and likewise, having concerns about it doesn’t automatically equal racist.
But having said that, as the posts go on, you can really clearly see those that have racist undertones. And it all generally seems to be aimed at those of the Islamic faith too.
however, clearly the rioters are targeting anyone non-white if the reports of the Filipino nurses are anything to go by.
