I’m currently watching a TikTok live from an ongoing protest in Middlesbrough, where people are smashing up cars and shops. Yet they are puzzled why the police aren’t letting them continue down the road to have a “peaceful protest”. Some have came to the conclusion it’s because they’re white .
There’s some sort irony about wrapping yourself up in a St George flag whilst screaming about foreigners and being proud to be English though given that Saint George was Turkish and never stepped a toe on English soil.

Sky news showing it now, police being pelted by bricks, then the rioters entering the building. God help the people inside.

It looks like they managed to get them all back outside and further away from the building

There seems to be one very angry group that are still attacking police and cars, but the majority of people are just standing and watching

Used to be on the radio and TV occasionally. Been sacked from just about every job he's had. Now he's retrained as a counsellor by the look of it.

Seriously though, I do wonder if that's one of the reasons it all seems to be very quiet from the political front. Even in previous similar situations I don't think the Tories made many statements until after everything seemed to be a bit calmer

I'm very disappointed in Sir Keir for going on holiday. It's the type of thing Boris would have done but I expected more from Sir Keir.

I don't like him, I like Labour policies but I think Keir himself is a cold, fairweather asshole but honest to God, he is the Prime Minister he needs to do something. It's absolutely insane it has been let get to this point. I know bringing in the army is extreme but it's day 4.

Apparently he’s off on holiday which surely given the circumstances should be cancelled. I’m no fan of the Tories but imagine Boris or Rishi had gone on holiday with all this carry on they’d be hell to pay.
