I just watched Sofie's latest vlog about Carnevale and I just felt annoyed by Kacie's presence lol. It seemed like Sofie even had to translate for her when simply ordering cicchetti? That said, it was underwhelming IMO. If anyone watched her stories, it was basically the same content, more or less.

Lol yeah, I totally picked up the translating Sofie did when the waiter was just asking if they wanted a knife to cut any of the cicchetti.

I agree I was underwhelmed by the video. It was just them gushing over the costumes and a few seconds of the masquerade ball.

Paul asking the important questions. I was wondering the same. Does the “board” just invite random influencers? Surely there has to be bigger names than Sofie for them to just have randomly invited her.

Right? I never understood what she meant by “I have my own thoughts about the virus” - what does that mean? She had already got COVID at this point and was vaccinated, I hoped that didn’t mean she thought COVID wasn’t as serious/deadly as the media made it out to be (not necessarily COVID denier but downplayer).

" my own personal thoughts" is very much what the conspiracy theorists say. It is a virus, a scientific issue, which doesn't exactly imply something you have "personal thoughts" on. I assume she had the vaccine as Italy made it difficult if you didn't, especially if she wanted to travel abroad but wouldn't have really wanted to

I've meant to ask forever, but I assume Emilio's parents are deceased? She never mentions i suoceri and at Xmas there weren't even empty seats (in case they/one were just camera shy.)

I think this is why she talks so much about being an "immigrant" in the states, she wants to downplay how privileged her life has been

TBH, unless you specifically like flaming hot or jalapeño Cheetos, I think Fonzies are way better.
Don't they have "American" shops in Florence? I know they do in Rome and Bologna, they sell all kinds of "American" products, including "liquid Snickers" which was at first an inside joke between my fiancé and I. He was astounded that such a thing existed, I assured him it wasn't, but then one day I did come across it here in the US as basically Snickers-flavored chocolate milk.

If Sofie isn’t posting sponsored skincare stuff, it’s about her going to exclusive events and retreats that most of us will never experience.

I used to like her for being relatable, when she had her social media presence to talk about everyday life in Italy and to connect with people when she was alone in a new country.
What is the purpose of her social media now? I don’t buy into the need for a 12 step skincare routine from a company that swindles me (not getting the full amount of product paid for). I don’t want ugly purses or Italian with Davide courses. I don’t feel connected to you while you share your Gucci Osteria wine tasting or your YSL makeup routine. You don’t need to make friends on your YouTube or IG platform because you already know all the gente altolocata in Florence by now.

Yeah, it's much more "Influencer" stuff now, aside from a boring "we went on a hike up to Fiesole" (I swear she's posted that type of content at least 3 times between YT and reels/stories). I assume her having to network for SR she gets a lot of invites to basically everything. The people she tags either have something to promote or are in need of clout themselves (I forget her name, but the woman who did the interior design of the one new hot restaurant she went to the opening recently for, for example.)

While she's at least integrated in Italian life opposed to say, Kacie or Danae Mercer, it's all the same "expat with loads of money" bubble.

They're completely unhinged! lol, the Karbz. I like it.

Now that it's on TT I passed it to some friends who all immediately clocked her "all the Michelin star restaurants I've been to..."

Imagine being able to go on vacation because your mom flew across the world to babysit did mom at least get to go on vacation too? Or just stay behind in Florence?

No vacay, this time it was only so Sofie and Emilio could go away alone. But like I said, she'll be back soon!

Yeah @moronglace I was wondering if she was going to say they were going to open up the living room, but she didn't. Though I guess we'll see their "journey".

I think the bathroom is being extended, I'm curious about the final look. Seems from the guest bath that some of the place has already been sort of updated.

I am surprised there isn't a large terrace at all, at least from what she said and we could kind of see. But maybe that was a budget compromise. Still curious where it is.
