Remember this video? It came up on my recommended.
I'm not really sure what the point of this video was... if it was just to test her pronunciation, Emilio picked terrible words.
Instead of just doing single words, I think a harder one would be to read aloud from a book, and drink for every word you mess up the pronunciation or emphasis (emphasis is a BIG one when I'm reading out loud and encounter new words). Kind of like when Italians graduate and do the papiro... although by that time I'm pretty sure they're already drunk...

How do you know about the papiro @moronglace ? I'm going to take a wild guess and say your boyfriend from Veneto? Lol

So why do you think Sofie had almost 400 unfollows in a month? Bougie content? Were they a bunch of SR bots? Lol

What is the papiro? Like the justification of the tesi?
I think people are just becoming bored of her content, just endless holidays, especially at the moment when most people are financially struggling. I also think her complaining people weren't watching her content turned even more people off, no one owes anyone youtube views. I unsubscribed to someone else recently for doing the same

@emm the papiro is something almost exclusively Veneto (but some might do it in Bologna and maybe Friuli. If you ask most Italians they've never heard of it), where they do a mock up poster size caricature of the laureato/a and write funny things and important events in their life. After the laurea, they have the graduate stand at a distance and try reading it. For every error, they have to take a drink. Lol. Here's an example.

Yes and I attended one in Bologna as well as studied there. Unfortunately left before I finished my program so I never got to have my own papiro. And I’m totally ok with that.

The last several videos have all been the same, a day in the life… okay, but your main draw is that you live (once again) in Italy and you’re not really giving us that content when you just make quinoa bowls and clean out your closets.

OT but wow @moronglace I didn't know you studied in Bologna. 🙂

And yeah, I hope not to see yet another "bowl" from Sofie. Ok, that's life too, but as you said, give people more Italian content.

The follower drop was actually on IG. I haven't actually paid attn to her YouTube stats. She reached 10k a while back but she's definitely not focused on that platform, though she seems to be uploading more often. But yeah, it's all "I'm home alone. Watch me eat pre-packaged food and clean out my closet."

Yeh exactly, just endless "Sunday resets" and her complaining about things not always being perfect or whatever

Has anyone else seen santi and dara? Typical channel of an American woman and an Italian guy who ate married. They keep coming up as recommended, most recently I saw her saying she wants to make more youtube content as they have so much to say short posts aren't enough... followed by basically a plea for content ideas. Reminded me of sofie and her lamenting that people aren't watching 🙄

Is that the dark haired woman and blonde Sicilian guy? If so, he repulses me. Lol. He's shirtless wayyyy too often, including eating meals. As usual, I find her so dumb. Lol. They came up a lot in my IG reels for a while.

Yes, they are the worst in that whole "genre" and he is rude about her food in a way that seems serious rather than funny most.of the time

I wonder if she can be so out of touch she really doesn't see that privilege? It's wild.

I've meant to ask forever, but I assume Emilio's parents are deceased? She never mentions i suoceri and at Xmas there weren't even empty seats (in case they/one were just camera shy.)

I’m inclined to think so, @Denise0211 - remember she made a video in like 2018 when they were supposed to go spend thanksgiving in the US and they cancelled the trip because someone in Emilio’s family passed. I assume that was his last living parent.

I think this is why she talks so much about being an "immigrant" in the states, she wants to downplay how privileged her life has been
