So they posted a question to devoted followers... 32 minutes ago.

The first slightly huffy response to an answer posted on stories... 10 minutes ago.

We need to start a sweepstake on when they start angrily correcting people in public. I'm calling it in about 20 minutes time! We've seen too many times how this story ends.

Oh Sofie don't ever change 😂 😂 😂

How could she not forsee that her dog would need treatment and to check that she could get insurance due to his breed?! I know she says the insurance informed her they would definitely pay out but you've got to know they will jump through hoops to not have too.

she is very much like Jack Munroe, any (however slight) criticism is met with some kind of personal crisis that excuses everything and makes her fans feel bad. From comments on her posts I also imagine a lot of her fans are very vulnerable and probably not in the position to give away money lightly, it really is awful
Very true, I've been lurking on Jack's threads since the THAT MAN incident and there's lots of parallels in how they treat their fans.

I still follow Sofie so I can lurk, but I can't even bring myself to hate follow Jack. Thank god for the diligent receipt keeping 😂

There seem to be quite strict conditions around interacting with Sofie.

You have to never disagree with what they say. In your head you can, but not in public. Never to her face

If Sofie disagrees with something someone else has said or done she is allowed to do so in public, but you are not allowed to give your opinion because that’s not being respectful of her boundaries.

If Sofie is an arsehole it is not her fault, because she is traumatised.

You’re not allowed to suggest that it is possible for Sofie to be both an arsehole AND traumatised because that’s mean and disrespecting her boundaries.

You are never allowed to criticise Sofie, ever.
Even when you agree with her she still criticises people too! She’s always has to be more right

Like many it seems, I was a fan but this influencer life isn't going to work for her. Comedians interact with their fans very differently to influencers, and you have to soften up if you want to keep a big non-comedy following. She needs to either be at least vaguely polite to the people trying to interact with her, or just not invite interaction.

Has she gotten fatter too? Exercise does nothing for weight loss really, but do wish she'd go for some walks. She looks so pasty and that poor dog breaks my heart.

I’m listening to her Bad People podcast for the first time. Really interesting subjects, co-host is funny and smart and has great insights… really struggling to see what Sofie adds to this. Just slows down the stories with her infantile interjections!

I saw that Bethany Rutter liked one of her posts about this, even though she's always posting about c25k and how much she gets out of it & the progress she's made 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm reading this thread backwards so I'm playing catch up 😇

First heard of Sofie on Richard Herring's podcast (RH I have some issues with as well, but that's for another thread) and my impressions were she sounded nice enough, she has a lovely voice, not sure I can remember too much about their conversation other than the topics discussed here but it struck me that she was VERY sure of herself. She said something akin to "I know I'm immensely talented". She didn't even just say it once, she said it numerous times.

Listening to it I thought, well, she's confident, maybe it's lost in translation because she's Danish.

There's also a long Sofie Hagen thread (which I think she referred to when she talks of online trolls discussing her) under lolcows* (I won't link to it as I don't think it's allowed anyway) elsewhere on the internet. I think it's a US-based influencer troll site but it is MUCH more vicious and un-PC than Tattle could ever be. In fact I was put off reading it as it seems to just consist of immature men (mostly) who hate the idea of a strident feminist being so fat (hardly the worst crime in the world, but I get that Sofie has her er, foibles, that make her hard to like at times).

Anyway, just my meagre two pence so far.

Edit: Oh, and her dog Hank is beautiful - he has the same droopy/sad face as my favourite dog-friend who is a Dogue De Bordeaux and he seems like a similar breed (he's my niece's dog but we're very close/I babysit him). OMG, these dogs need a LOT of walking and they get boisterous if they don't.

A dog would give their life for you, the very least you could do is offer him a good lifestyle, make some memories and keep him healthy.

*They also hate Lindy West who has written some amazingly witty articles. So, meh
**She's non-binary, so I should be saying they rather than her. Oops. Honestly, I've been on and off the gay scene most of my adult life (I'm straight but go with friends) and don't understand this new mindset/new additions to the LGBTQ.. acronym. I suppose as Sofie would say I'M STILL LEARNING :censored:

You can say she. It’s in her pronouns.
Phew 😬

Like how would this work in a relationship or a house share..."sorry I can't do my share of the chores, I need to lie around eating chocolate mousse, it's not that I'm lazy I just need essential rest."
Exactly! What about if neither person in a relationship can be assed... Sorry I mean what if both people "need a rest"... You just live in filth? Don't bother to feed your kids?

So apparently the only reason obesity is a risk factor in how covid affects you is because of how health professionals treat fat people...okayyyyy
I am far from a fan of Sofies but I am glad that she’s encouraging people to get the vaccine whatever the reason for it

She owns her flat - right? She has a garden and despite her claiming it is a 'rough' area, it seems like a fairly central location of north london? (I'm not sure exactly where but it's just a hunch and I could be wrong - I'm sure there are people on here who know the area). She can't be broke - it's ridiculous she would even claim to be broke.
no she rents - there’s been a lot of talk about the fact she’s never mentioned her ‘decorating’ to her landlord. So she probs pays a pretty penny in rent.
I vaguely remember her talking about being in some kind of high interest student debt for her university back home but don’t remember the details.

Also Hank is a big dog, he probably needs a couple of walks a day. I know every dog is different but I used to have a staffy half his size who needed at least 2 walks a day. They didn’t have to be long walks! But it’s a huge part of being an owner.
yeah, my parents have a small dog and even she has two walks a day, including a very long one

Yeah, I think it's possibly because of the pandemic, meaning they had to focus more on online sources of income. This meant putting out more/different social media content, which possibly resulted in a lot more people engaging with them and/or having views on what they were talking about. Maybe that was overwhelming for them and they felt the need to impose boundaries. I get that. But the way they go about it is so awful and honestly I actually think they end up being someone that embodies so many of the things they claim to detest!
This is a really interesting perspective and makes a lot of sense! So much of the content seems removed from her previous work too (like the home redecoration stuff), like a sort of desperate grab at other themes of content. And maybe it is stressful, but there's always the option to... not post. Especially when what you're posting is rude comments!
