If you have bad anxiety and know you often have periods where you can't get out of bed for days then whyyy would you get a massive dog that clearly needs epic walks every day. Ugh it's so annoying.
yes and he seems to cause her even more anxiety - she’s posted stories where she’s annoyed at him for snoring, or waking her up, or having an accident on the floor. He’s a dog, it’s not his fault.

Sofie getting Hank (seemingly overnight and from a disreputable breeder) for some reason gives me this feeling that she somehow thought Hank could help her mental health.

I can't prove it at all, but that's just the vibe that I get - that she was lonely or struggling with her mental health and thought a sort of "therapy dog" would help - which is completely unfair; we're meant to take care of our pets and not the other way around. She even mentioned her therapist saying something about Sofie transferring some issue or another onto her dog.

She'd mentioned on numerous occasions before that she loves dogs but she didn't think she should get one as because she doesn't leave her flat if she can help it and he has to travel a lot for work.
yeh she would have been better getting a cat, much more low maintenance and don't need walks obviously! I bet she ends up giving the dog away

I hope she ends up giving the dog away. He doesn't seem to have much quality of life, just wallowing around her bed all day. 😟

there really need ot be better controls on the ability to adopt/buy pets in my opinion. So many people do so without thinking about the responsibilities, and moving from place to place when the owner gets sick of them is disruptive for the animals

I don’t know if it’s just me but this attitude is completely unbearable 😳
ugh so she is just blaming her well meaning fan basically. Also why does she need more than one therapist? Surely the whole point is you have one who knows everything about you? IMO if you need more than one they're probably not very good

ty for making this thread, I felt like I was the only one slowly going mad seeing her stories! can't stand how she has to be right about everything and acts so self important. Her story today about not ever being able to say something snarky about someone.. but you're perfectly comfortable telling your followers to 'duck off' and calling people cunts every other day for the smallest disagreements they have with you?

edited to add: and the dog!!!! where did his apparent anxieties come from, did the previous owner even tell her that he was nervous or did she make it up based on a couple of weeks with him? there were one or two attempts to walk him and then nothing.... and also all the weirdness around her 'adopting' a dog from a dodgy person (who charged her over £400!) after insisting for weeks that she would obviously only ever rescue, and she wouldn't be taken in by a breeding scam, and don't insult her intelligence by even suggesting otherwise... 🙄 if you were around about a year ago you'll remember the 'I would love a dog but OBVIOUSLY I'll never get one because I know I wouldn't be able to look after it and my lifestyle doesn't suit and CALM DOWN I'M NOT GETTING A DOG' stories

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I used to be a fan. I went to one of her gigs, bought her book, etc. I agree with her on a lot of things: socialism, feminism, body neutrality/body positivity/etc.

But back in March/April she started going on about how she was worried about money because of Lockdown (not the only one!), started her Patreon her (non-funny comedy shows) then she moved flat and bought so much new stuff (and some of it is pretty expensive!), painted with expensive paint, etc.

Also, she went on and on about how she wasn't going to rush into getting a dog, then suddenly she was getting a dog. Went on and on about how she was going to be responsible about getting a dog ... but then because she couldn't get one there and then (*stampy feet*) she bought one from a breeder. And when she was called about by anyone they got blocked and called a c*nt. Ugh.

I asked her about what she was going to do about Hank when she was touring and she claimed it wouldn't be an issue, he'd come with her and she only really stays in dog-friendly hotels anyway. Ummmmmmm, no. Hotels might be dog friendly if you've got a properly trained and socialised dog, not one which clearly has no boundaries and isn't getting trained. Maybe she is walking him, but I suspect not.

Okay rant over. Sorry, had to get it off my chest!

Yes!!!

I've been thinking about this so much and wondering how she's able to afford so much when it's such a tough time for comedians (who no clear end in sight). Actually have a MoPod another go today because Catherine Bohart was a guest in one of the episodes and Catherine mentioned a few times how she's struggling to make ends meet.

I didn’t realise Sofie had a thread. I’ve been a fan and still follow her, but like basically everyone has mentioned, I’m getting so annoyed by this pattern of initiating a discussion with followers then aggressively telling people off for not discussing it in the Right Way. Like, don’t open it to the floor then?

During the dog adoption process there was a specific incident and she literally called this person (who I don’t think think had been that rude, just not fawning and approving their every move) a c*nt, and totally doubled down on it.

It also kind of bothered me how unprepared they were for their ticketed lockdown live shows. Struggled to fit things into the time frame, jumped all over the place... if you’re going to charge people, maybe could have at least rehearsed it alone or to a friend? And now when people ask questions related to a show topic (like fat and health) Sofie will tell them to buy the show... which honestly would be such a waste of money for how badly organised they were. It would make more sense to promo their book Happy Fat, but I guess they don’t because it’s not the same profit.

Sorry for the rant. I like Sofie but these things have been really annoying me.

WTF! We're in lockdown! I hope that this friend is her bubble. 😡
Tile paint will look awful 😱

Clearing the bathroom out of tat & getting rid of the horrible cheap shower screen and replacing it with a curtain (I know they’re gross lol) would make a monumental difference, painting it will not.

I know each to their own and all that, but her flat being in such dark colours can’t be good for mental health.

Callie Thorpe did this too, stupidly they look at what’s trending on Insta amongst the intergenerational wealth with a huge Victorian property set and apply it to their tiny new build flats and think it’ll work?! That’s not doing them down at all but come on use ur common sense huns 😫
