What I do find amusing is this internet crash you are talking about, is it the one in June? I've just had to Google it because I have no recollection of it. Dunno what that says about me, clearly it took down sites that I do not frequent.

But that's not what you said....

This is very fear inducing, intentional or not.
They are referring to the cyber polygon / dark winter / cyber pandemic. There’s people that think it’s coming around September/October and could last even up to 6 months. It’s the next conspiracy theory in the whole great reset / new normal agenda. The only place Iv seen it be discussed so far is Reddit

Where do people find this stuff? Is it all just a feeling or is there some sort of data that can back it up (not a Reddit thread)?

If I’m perfectly honest, I would take a pre internet society. While it’s great in some ways, I do believe that the bad outweighs the good and it’s getting worse. I was 6 when we got our first (very basic) computer and I feel like my whole life is consumed by technology and the internet.

The issue is now we rely on the internet for so much, if it suddenly ‘switched off’ we wouldn’t know what to do with ourselves, the food supply chains would come to a halt as everything is done online now. The theory also claims it will cut off the power grids leaving us in a blackout for anything between a few weeks to 6 months.

Oh I know it’s not at all a possibility, but if in some dream world it was I would take it.

I was 32 when the millennium ticked over, most of the world were losing their minds over the so-called Y2K bug. It was a big deal over nothing. I know we rely a lot more on the internet now but even back then I got my pay put straight into my bank. I hoarded food and water plus took most of my available cash out of the bank, all for nothing. Just scare-mongering.

I read this book a few years ago on internet security. Was a really good read and always stuck with me. The author comes from a knowledgeable place in government. He explains the history of the internet and the threats it both faces and poses in its present state. Whole thing is done in an accessible manner. Very fast read for anyone keen to learn more.

the Y2K scare was very real and came to nothing because those behind the scenes pulled through for us all.

Just because a crisis is averted doesn’t mean it was never going to be a crisis.

I hate this scare mongering that we seem to have a influx of at the moment. I don’t get the way people seem to almost gloat about this “information” they have, which isn’t informative but utterly terrifying for so many. Especially when people’s mental health is generally more vulnerable than ever. In the same sentence though I genuinely believe that these people are actually far more weak than the ones being terrified by the information, they can’t accept that humanity is exceptionally fragile, we have become arrogant as a species to believe that everything is so controlled and nothing can possibly happen to us good or bad unless it’s been created by some other being. My late dad used to rationalise it to me, give me a perspective on how we’re basically minuscule bits of life hurtling through space around a impossible to begin to imagine, burning up star.
Civilisation will come to an end, of course it will, everything has an end, no one gets out of here alive. I won’t be scrapping or prepping because if we get to that point in my lifetime I’ll take my own way out, with my family, and I accept that. In the meantime my life is much more likely to come to an end in the car I drive every day, or that I keep feeding my body with fattening stuff and have no idea if my artery will become blocked. Living is a risk, life is fragile, enjoy everyday because there’s very little you can do or control about how long you’re here for and to keep attempting to leads to misery, I’ve learnt this from my own experience.

just a note to the original poster none of this was aimed at you, I read it myself and found it interesting, it’s just the derailment.

I appreciate some see it as scaremongering, but I disagree, people are just sharing information they are coming across to try and help others, I’m not one for stock piling but is it the worst idea to have some emergency supplies incase something did happen? I think we are heading into dark times, the wef are really pushing a ‘great reset’ and we can’t be too naive and comfortable thinking a massive upheaval will never happen to us, I think the 2020s will be testing times, unfortunately.

It absolutely is the worst idea to even suggest that, not for me personally but for people who already have so many day to day worries which include wondering if they’ll be able to feed themselves tonight let alone having some stock incase the worst happens. Some people are already living in testing times and have been for so long and all this scaremongering is doing is adding to those who have real problems every day.

I just want to add also, that no one has thanked the poster for the “information”. One person replied “posts like these absolutely terrify me”.
It’s not always information they are finding either, articles from years ago being misinterpreted, and if anyone dares to say that they are instantly told no that’s because you’ve seen it on MSM which blacks out so much etc etc. It’s absolutely ridiculous what is going on with people, and this is the downfall in society. People no longer have community groups, less people have faiths etc so instead cling together over believing in something horrendous.

Certain people and societies have been predicting massive upheaval for centuries. They all thought it would be them too. And yet the world as we know it is still here. Every decade has its tests and challenges. Why waste your life worrying about something that is probably never going to happen? It's not helping people at all. All it does is project yet more fear onto already mentally vulnerable people who most likely have actual, real, day-to-day problems to deal with.

I don’t worry about it, I already said I don’t believe what 1001 others posted yesterday, but I don’t tell people to shut up, stop scaremongering and call them conspiracy theorists. I’m genuinely interested in this theory, sorry if that annoys you 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's not annoying, it's amusing. I get the feeling that these people actually want a societal collapse to happen, just so they can finally be proved right. "Told you so" as they fight over the last remaining scrap of potato peelings.

I guess only time will tell 😂 hopefully we can all come back to this thread and the CT ones in a few years and say it didn’t happen, no need to mock people though for believing in these things.

I wasn't mocking either. I simply have a different opinion to you.

Wow - classified documents from Iran on using a cyber attack as warfare eg to sink a cargo ship or blow up a petrol station.

No it would not be ok. Do you mean if you have nothing to lose for example, live in social housing, own nothing and up to your eyeballs in debt. Most people do have savings and assets. We all have bank accounts too, even those on benefits wouldn’t receive or have access to their payments. The food supply chain would break down within days and we would have no food, it would be total devastation
I'm not in masses of debt, but I like most people have a mortgage on my house which is a lot more than what I have in the bank.
So if banking ends, I don't have a mortgage to pay, I can just work for food.

You won’t be in your house either, but at least we’ll be happy, according to the wef!
