Where did this post come from? It’s not on their SM platforms and I can’t see any reference on their website. I’m getting fake vibes but may be wrong!

Was sent out as marketing I believe. I got it from a friend on FB. Maybe it is fake. Theyve got the fonts and terminology spot on if so 😂

Ive only seen one pic and no one else has released it. They’ve talked about calories in their previous lit and not in this way, it just doesn’t feel right and there’s a lot of people getting triggered by something that’s potentially fake 😂

SW are clutching at straws as all their poster boys and girls have switched to cal counting. Thing is, SW and WW are a business as are any weight loss company. This includes all calorie counting clubs. I don’t know why someone in Team RH, Rebelfit, Munro, JSA are up in arms about SW being toxic when I see that most of them lost all their weight with SW and are still part of the diet culture they claim to hate. If you are counting calories and pay a coach/trainer each month and are actively trying to lose weight, you are in a slimming club!

I agree. It looks a bit like a dodgy photoshop to me - I can't believe they'd only have one quote mark on the quote!

Since 2014 I’ve bounced in and out of Slimming World. In the past I’ve tried Cambridge (just milkshakes and misery) and most recently tried Team RH.
I appreciate Richie from Team RH. His approach is great. However, he can rant at me to weigh everything to the gram until he’s blue in the face but when I’m stood at the kitchen counter at 7a.m weighing coffee granules, I really start to question if it’s all worth it. My answer was no. Calorie counting is not for me. Neither is weighing myself every day even though I understand why he asks you to do it. I have the type of personality that is prone to becoming quite obsessive about things and I could see that this wasn’t cutting it for my mental health. Sitting at my mother-in-law’s dinner table on Easter Sunday, having palpitations because I can’t accurately weigh carrots and roast potatoes to the gram... 🙄 I realise that this is just me and not their plan, but I also realise that I cannot be the only person who is likely to become obsessed and have it take over their life.
He will bash SW for calling certain foods ‘syns’ whilst simultaneously calling certain foods ‘rit’...🤷🏻‍♀️
Every plan has it’s flaws, I guess.
I’ve returned to SW. I’ve sacked off my old IG that followed all the accounts promoting chocolate laden porridge. I’m going to read the books and follow the plan that they have written. The podcast is a good shout. The qualified nutritionists that have been featured on the show have cleared up a few things about SW that I was never too happy about. I agree that it still has it’s flaws, but ultimately, as someone stated above, it’s about using your common sense and understanding that the accountability starts and ends with you. Stacking a mound of SW chips on a plate with a WW wrap
pizza and having the three measly pieces of mushroom on your pizza count as your 1/3 of a plate isn’t going to get you anywhere. It’s fine once every so often but if you’re looking to shift some weight that’s just not going to do the trick. I agree with all of you about the instahuns and their warped versions of Slimming World. It doesn’t do SW any favours not addressing it all.
Anyway, having been through the thread, if anyone has any further worthwhile Instagram suggestions of genuine Slimming World accounts I would love to have a look. Even if your suggestion is yourself just write a little list of ones you like and include yourself in it. Nobody will ever know. 👍🏻
This a million times! Slimming World doesn't work for me, but it works wonderful for two of my friends. No diet fits every person, we all crave different foods, have different weaknesses with food, and we all find motivation from different things. WW worked really well for me, but then I gave Team RH a go, and although Ritchie would abuse me for it, I absolutely weighed everything to the gram, I worked out and I got my steps in and all I did was stay the exact same weight for nearly 2 months, because the calories were so fxxcking high! Now I'm calorie counting my own way and it's working well, I'm not stressing out over getting 15k steps and 6 work outs a week. I'm active, I'm eating well, but I was becoming obsessive, unhealthily obsessive with calories and steps, because there is such a hostility towards not reaching your targets with Team RH. Do what works for you, every time!

I think it might be fake as well. People are insistent that SW is toxic, but seem to forget that they lost tonnes of weight on it. I started it as I really needed to get my focus on food to be normal and healthy and in this respect it works well, it does help that I tend towards home-cooking and can do without take outs if I have nice food in, maybe not so easy for people who eat out and on the run a lot. SW does have some stupid rules like the mashed banana thing, and the muller lights for half points when they should be more. It is clear they have brand partners as well. However compared to WW in which they like to keep you in a starve/binge cycle, demonise carbs and relatively healthy foods-cous cous is considered the same as the evil and deadly pasta. I am constantly surprised that WW does not get any slagging compared with SW, maybe because it was last ‘in’ about ten fifteen years ago and is clearly struggling. I will eventually start to calorie count-not because I want chocolate for breakfast but to maintain my anticipated massive weight loss!

WW has 3 plans now. One is practically the same as SW and carbs are not limited (not even pasta or couscous). The old plans were low carb. I think WW is very similar to calorie counting with an emphasis of high density/low calorie foods. Same as SW. All plans work on the basis of a calorie deficit. Different plans will work for different people. There’s a big difference between eating for health and eating for weight loss. They aren’t the same thing.

My search function keeps playing up and I was trying to see if ZoeyLou_sw had been mentioned on here? I really enjoyed following her but her account has been quiet since August and I really hope she’s okay!

5 syns if you mash it with a fork. Free if you mash it with your teeth inside your mouth...🤨
I feel like going back to group to see what tit they are doing nowerdays. When I used to go we used to have ‘taster nights’ Where Julie and Brenda would make some SW rit and bring it in for people to try.

One week I saw these little brown balls, I exclaimed ‘ha! Rabbit tit’ ... ‘that’s actually chocolate truffle, I made them out of crushed weetabix’ 🤮

Curry made out of mushy peas, quiche made out of pasta in sauce sachets, Haribos made out of jelly and Muller Light - it’s bleeping rank!

I see alot of people churning out this crap. Boothys_sw_insta19 is one of them. Those vile looking sweets she does 🤢🤢 pretty sure she has done the mushy pea curry aswell 😂 to be fair, some of her food looks good but she is someone who I get the impression claims her 'massive portions' help her lose weight, yet she also posts that she's doing 15k steps in a day 🤷‍♀️ always heavy on eating chips aswell, speed is an after thought for 'the gram'. One of the bigger accounts so I'm fully aware that she probably only really posts because she's making £££ out of it somewhere.

Ooh just realised she hasn’t been on for ages has she! Hope she’s ok. I used to make some of her recipes and get loads of ideas from her when I did sw, she was one of the more likeable accounts!

So cutting out dairy only since Monday has been interesting, the sore throat and headaches I've been plagued with have disappeared. It could just be coincidental but tbh it has made me think I was going through a lot of dairy every day doing Slimming world with the 2 x healthy extra As plus having a lot of yoghurt/cottage cheese etc. It has left me wondering if I should carry on as a member or not, being pescatarian cuts out a lot of SW 'Free' food anyway but not having dairy just makes it more difficult as I keep finding recipes but then they'll all involve quark, yoghurt, fromage frais etc. I like the accountability but I just think I'll find it really hard to follow properly!

Yesterday I was really busy with work and didn't have time to think about SW at all - I added up the calories of what I had at the end of the day and it worked out about 1500 - was weird though it would have all been pretty high syn but I didn't think about food at all yesterday except when I was hungry. SW I think about food constantly, planning every single day's food and having stuff for the sake of it just to use up syns. Hmm 😂
Can you eat vegan yogurts and milks that are non dairy? Do they effect you?
I wouldn’t use up syns just because you can have them as 15 syns makes 300 calories. That’s why Slimming Worlds door is a revolving door. They want people to stay overweight as it makes them more money 💰 💴.

Maybe have a look at this.

it may make up your mind if you want to go back to classes and pay £5.95 a week.

Its not fake, it’s from a Slimming World Consultants Instagram page it’s part of the new training. To tell class members that calorie counting is unhealthy lol 😂

So the post above states it was in the SW consultant training portal so it may well not be fake?

I’m not a SW consultant but a member and it’s been emailed out to me so I’m guessing other members have received.
People seem to be slating it without actually reading the full article in my opinion...
Anyway my dinner was 4 syns and I love the SW plan

Totally agree, but there is a huge difference between a slimming club and a diet club. SW and WW etc are diets, there are foods you aren’t allowed and you must follow a plan. Calorie counting is just pure science, there’s nothing else too it. If you actually have health seeking goals then you won’t use your calories on McDonald’s every day, even though you could. There’s a big difference between being on a diet and trying to sustainably lose weight. Slimming world is definitely the devil 😂

There really isn’t a huge difference. If you are wanting to lose weight and are tracking calories you are on a weight loss diet. I’ve had coaches and PT’s and 100% have been told what I can and can’t eat (these usually charge more than a £20 a month though). Calorie counting is science and all a person needs is to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Eating for health is different although ideally most people would combine the two (80/20 rule whilst in a calorie deficit). SW is crap but my issue is with people who are calorie counting and act all superior about slimming clubs. If someone is actively losing weight, counting calories/macros, is in a FB group and sends their weight to a coach then they are in a slimming club. We can dress it up any which way but it’s the same. Big business as well, look at how much they make each month. SW and WW will soon be on their way out (especially SW as they don’t seem to move with the times) but groups like JSA, Munro, RH etc make a fortune all from being a slimming club. They will have a very small % of clients who are bulking/at maintenance. Their main source of clients will be from people wanting to lose weight (I’ve been members of all 3 CC clubs/groups).

It’s on their official email today as part of their newsletter
And it’s all about cutting calories and not counting calories so they talked about how they used nutritional research from university’s to base their info on and that losing weight is about being in a calorie deficit but counting calories can be tedious which is where the free food list comes into account so they have done all the work for you so by following their suggestions you are cutting calories without having to count them
