It always amuses me when you see someone get really large again after they were so bleeping rude, preachy and condescending to others. People who rammed the plan down others throats, people who had no time for anyone who didn't have 100k followers, people who clearly lied about what they were eating, but became desperate for a sw mag feature and a spice code.... I just think HA! Karma hun 😘🤣🖕not so full of yourself now are you!
I absolutely agree that SW are incredibly fickle when deciding who to feature in the magazine and @Damocles has mentioned recently that one reason he may not have been chosen is image yet in the world as it is nowadays you would hope a business would attempt to be more open to all no matter the look or image.
I have stopped following many doing SW so I don’t see much these days. I have moved to following those doing calorie counting and have been looking more on TikTok as suggested recently. I much prefer the TikTok video thing.

I really want to know who you are - I want to follow ya!
His IG name was shared on here a while ago but I don’t recall and don’t know if changed since but I’m sure someone on here knows including of course @Damocles himself if happy to share and if you still post?

On a separate note was there any conclusion on which app is best for calorie counting please? I’m guessing Nutracheck which is what I have started to look at.

I vote nutracheck. If you had asked me a few weeks a go I would have said myfitnesspal but with all it's free perks going I decided to try nutracheck (you can only log 6 items if free version) so I paid 24 for the year and I actually really like it. Someone said it's less american based which I agree and I love that when you type what product it brings up the picture so you know that it is what your searching

Thank you. It was seeming that Nutracheck was the overall choice and someone (apologies I don’t recall who) mentioned on here you can create meals and simply re use them instead of adding ingredients each time. It is the time to track calories I was worried about but feels easier now I know that so going to give CC a real chance whilst working on my eating disorder issues and SW brainwashing.

what I like about Nutracheck is not just anyone can add to the database like you can with MFP. I think the app is 100% worth the money.

Another vote for Nutracheck. I paid for the app version, but I might go for web and app next time.

I love that it has pretty much everything you can think of on there. I think I've maybe had 4 or 5 things not come up when I've searched for them over the last 18 months.

It's easy to amend or add data too

You can add your own foods to the database. I had to add Dunkaroos cereal the other day, but it's more of a process than MFP was

oh 100% agree it’s much more of an ordeal but then it’s there to use for future ☺ What I meant was that they have the official database which isn’t just added by everyone, you add your own if you want. Nevertheless, a great app and 100% worth the money

I’ve decided I’m not going to go back to SW like I planned tomorrow and giving Nutracheck/Calorie Counting my best shot as it’s more substainable.
Ive given enough money to SW and WW over the years and I’m just forever loosing and gaining so it’s making me miserable and obviously not maintainable

I use nutracheck and like it to track my cals
Only thing is it gives you a huge deficit for what you really need so it’s best to use a tdee calculator and use their cals and input it into nutracheck

You have done well to keep the weight off and I don’t mean that in a patronising way; you are one of only a few I know who have not gone back to where you started. Can I ask if it is mindset and being strict that works for you? I think you mentioned you see food as fuel but do you enjoy food? Apologies if I’m wrong in my assumption, I’m just really wanting to make it work for me this time.

I was told straight by the hospital, lose weight or you'll be dead within months.

It really was the kick up the a I needed. I have no problem admitting I would eat anything, from anywhere, I was addicted to food so badly that I've eaten food out of the bin because the thought of it going to waste was more than I could handle.

mad to think about now, but its how it was for me.

Is Nutracheck free, we want an app for the whole group to use that isn’t going to cost them in addition to the £3 fees we pay for hall hire. We need something easy as the vast majority of us are over 50.

It’s £24 a year, very UK centric and user friendly. MyFitnessPal is free and I used it for years, but not 100% of the time the most reliable and it’s an American origin app - meaning if your search an item you will get a lot of the American groceries/meals along with usual UK ones.

If cost is the key issue then I would plump for MyFitnessPal but if you’re able to absorb £2 a month then Nutracheck

orMyNetDiary, free and UK centric.

Anyone else feeling really sad watching Lauren’s posts? I wish she would get psychological help and not Sw, she’s struggling massively and it’s only her second week. This just isn’t healthy for her, her life is being ruled again by being on or off plan. There is no on or off plan, there’s just food!

I’m using a free 7 day trial and then it’s £23.99 for the year, offer on until 20th Sept

She is heading down a dangerous path and it is not going to end well unfortunately. Why the family or friends are not helping baffles me but I do understand it may not be so easy to notice when you are closer to the person. A bit like if you gain weight and those you see each day don’t notice but those you see rarely instant see it.

I was ruined by the on plan off plan thing and it took me too long to realise.

Thank you for the advice, I’ll speak with my friend to see what she thinks. We have a lot of interest in the group, the more people we get the more we could lower the price.

Thank you all
