I think you are the person I mentioned who has lost 13 stone and has kept it off, why do slimming world not ever feature you or at least mention your loss in an article if you don’t like your photo taken.

I was so angry when I was told about swrosssmith getting slimming world food hampers while our group never got our meal deposits back from the consultant.

In an update, she has agreed to give us all our deposits back, she said the money was already paid to the member of the social also known as the groups food bank. We’re still so angry about it. We haven’t been told a time as when but this all happened a few hours ago.
Have you reported her to either Slimming World or the police. What she has done is commit fraud & I would imagine SW officials would not be aware of this or even condone it & it sounds like she has taking money off your group illegal?

I wonder if your deposit money has already been spent and that’s the reason for the delay and fuss

I see the Welsh one (sioned) who bums sw Ross has admitted a 13lbs gain. It can't be sustainable if as soon as you deviate from the plan, you put on a stone

Here’s the one I was on about, she’s 5’4 sorry. She’s done incredibly well but that’s definitely still not a healthy weight, although I’m guessing she will have a lot of excess skin.

ETA it says in the headline she’s lost 15 stone then it says she’s lost 13 stone 9? 🤪
I read this too, I think she lost 15st then gained a bit after having a baby or something? So now her total loss from original weight is 13st 9

'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results'

If you have lost weight with SW and gained a shitload back why do you think if you do it all over again the results will be any different?

You can excuse (as I have many times before I broke the cycle) and say 'its not SW its me the plan works I lost 6 stone 5 years ago'
If you gained back 7 SW has failed you.

SW indoctrinate you to blame yourself for the plans failings. This is why even when you're losing overall and stay to group they go round and ask the reason you have gained on week.
Sometimes there is no reason could be hormones, stress, you've exercised more, the weather etc.
But a consultant will insist its sometime you've done.
If you say to a consultant you don't know why you've gained 9 times out of 10 they'll start reeming off reasons for a gain
'Did you eat your healthy extras?'
'Did you weigh your healthy extras?'
'Have you gone over syns?'
'Are you eating all yout syns?' (yes, they will say this a reason for a gain if you say you're not).
'Are you eating free foods? Eat more free foods!'
'Are you eating speed? Eat more speed!'

Then they expect you to choose one so you can be blamed.
After months if not years of this indoctrination if you start gaining back you'll look to these reasons as being the cause of your gaining and blame yourself.

Reality is its not eating 5g extra of cheese on a monday and eating 18 syns on a sunday making you gain back.

Its because -
-Its because SW don't teach portion control
-SW create a toxic atmosphere in groups where you compete to lose the most weight to win awards such as miss slinky, so some people start restricting which ducks your metabolism.
- they promote calorie dense foods like pasta, potatoes and rice as unlimited
- They don't address psychological reasons for over eating.
- They don't truely want you to lose weight. They're not dieticians or personal trainers with professional interest. They are a business that relys on return custom. If everyone that joined SW reached target and kept it off the business would make no profit.
Even when consultants seem to be encouraging you to lose its so they can stick you in the local paper at target or advertise their group lost 80 stone in a year on a poster so they can get MORE custom and more profit. Its not your best interests at heart.

I know theres more of you on this thread that seem to be SW member than there was before and some have mentioned considering re-joining.

Before you do ask yourself;
How many people do you know that reached target and maintained it for over 3 years purely following the SW plan? Not losing with SW then switching to CC or something else.
I bet its not many.
But I bet you do know many Debbie, Sues, Mels and Amandas that have been in and out of your group for 10+ years losing and gaining the same 2 stone or more over and over in a vicious cycle where the only thing that loses long term is your purse.

Break the cycle ladies.

This is a joke. There's so much wrong with all this I don't even know where to start.

But first things first. Plans don't fail, mate. People fail. Everyone just finds it far easier to blame an eating plan (like slimming world) because its takes the attention away from themselves and what they shove down their cake holes. The truth is. People haven't got their tit together with their food.

If you gained loads of weight (and if you care)... guess what - you failed!
Doesn't matter if that's calorie counting or Slimming World or Weight Watchers or Keto or Atkins or 5:2 or whatever...

Also, I've never in all my years heard any consultant say that a gain was caused by not eating 'enough' syns. That's ridiculous. They should be fired.

A binge is a binge. It would have a big effect whatever the eating plan was.

Stop chatting tit.

Take it you're SW consultant?
Or maybe you're just another chubber like the rest of us not ready to admit they've wasted £'s over the years funding mags yacht.
Or maybe you're one of 10+ year SW veterans that loses over and over again and I touched at nerve?

To be honest I don't particularly give a duck either way, but if you are an SW consultant (certainly smells like you are, can practically smell the waft of eggy syn free swiss roll farts from here) i'm bleeping glad i'm not in your group with your tit attitude and I feel sorry for those still lingering and supporting your dying business.

Oh and MATE this is a public forum i'll post what the duck I want, shoving food down my cake hole or not....
oh and I say this with kindness, I know times are hard at SW with anyone with half a brain cell bleeping off to do CC, but if my post on here about SW is getting you so angry and vexed maybe its time to confide in your GP about your issues rather than your district manager.
Try to calm down MATE it's a Sunday afterall, 😘

Nobody has blamed the plan for 'failing'
Most people on here have stated how SW had fuelled or even caused their eating issues.
It certainly fuelled mine.
I lost 9 stone whilst doing slimming world.
Have kept most of it off but through calorie counting.

I've been to 5 different groups and every single one, the consultant at some point has blamed someone's weight gain on not eating enough syns.

Slimming world creates bad relationships with food.
Using the word 'syn' is bad enough in itself.
The plan does not teach portion control either which is something I can guarantee 90% of SW members need to learn

Many people come across this. I personally have heard more than one consultant say it to others and had it said to me

The fact is with SW unless you can be 100% in control of every single meal and how it’s cooked it just ain’t gonna work long term, I’m my old group the consultant would ask ‘have you got anything that might set you back this week’ meaning meals out etc, I spend my entire working life in premier inns and there’s a meal on their menu which is less than 500 calories but works out nearly 20 syns on the app so that’s a no go, so I would go for steak and jacket potato which would be well over 500 cals! I’m sticking to my vodka diet this week anyway

SW's half a syn 'big daddy burger' has more cals than a big mac so even if you controlled and prepared every meal you could easily end up over eating

Sorry I meant to say as well if you are following the plan sensibly as in eating mostly high volume low cal food ie green veg.

Hate to admit it but yeh I think you did hit a nerve. Just trying to slap myself into accountability. Sorry if that came out as wrong as it clearly did. I’m a right gobby bleep sometimes. I’m just tired of failing at every diet I’m trying. They all feel the same to me.

that bit about Swiss roll farts did make me laugh though 😂

Accountability is one of the hardest things with weightloss and something many other us struggle with I think.
Not presuming, but something many people don't realise is that for a 'diet' to work you need to heal the issues you have around food.
What causes you to over eat, what triggers binges etc.
For some people it can be as simple as remembering to meal prep so healthy food fits in a busy schedule.
But for others like myself issues may run deeper.
I grew up in a dysfunctional and abusive home. As a child I used food as comfort. This was something I could never shake off as an adult.
So I eventually realised that whether i did keto, SW, WW if something stressed or upset i'd be straight on justeat.
The things is though I now believe that to truely get a grip on your weight to secret is to stay away from diets and weightloss groups. Diets were making my food relationship worse by giving me fear foods and making me feel more guilty.
Sustainable weightloss can be found through psychological work, routine in meals and enjoying everything in moderation.
3 meals a day maybe a snack or 2 within calorie deficit.
Eat what you enjoy and has healthy as you can.
Don't enjoy shovelling in speed? Don't! You can do eat veg or fruit in other ways.
Hate large free yoghurt? Have full large! Hate full large yoghurt? Have large free!
If it makes you happy and in calorie deficit go for it.
If its not in your calorie deficit? So what!
If you only lose 2lb in a month? Who gives a duck its progress. Stay consistant next month you might lose 7.
Our bodies don't work in a 7 day cycle and not seeing a drop on the scale at the end of a week is not failure.

We need to be kinder to ourselves.
