I weighed in on Saturday morning and during my tinder days, my dates would involve copious amounts of alcohol and doing the walk of shame into group with the previous evenings clothes.

I lost every weigh in no doubt because I was so dehydrated 🤣

With regards to disordered eating, I’m not sure if slimming clubs cause this or because the person has issues that they thought losing weight would cure. Food issues and disorders are more about control, trauma, emotional issues and using food as a way to control these issues. Not everyone who follows a diet ends up with food issues, no matter what anti diet culture will have us believe.
Fuck me, that is the most sensible summary I’ve seen in ages about the huns complaining about SW causing their food issues.

Best of luck though. I got some nasty replies when I pointed out similar a few months back. Some people don’t like hearing that their problems aren’t entirely someone else’s fault.

You'd think this was a wagyu beef chilli made with the finest ingredients flown in from mexico the way he is writing about it. rather than just an average bog standard midweek chilli that 1000s make every week

SW does work but it doesn't long term.
Almost everyone who has had a big loss gains it back eventually.
Yes, you can look at some people and think 'oh but they lost 8 stone it must work'.
Have a think do you know anyone from SW in real life who has maintained comfortably long term?

If someone is still paying their fiver losing and gaining the same 8lbs over and over again to get back to target after a big weightloss that's not normal dietary behaviour.
Same as if someone is at target and maintained for a while but terrified of having anything other than a jacket potato with beans at a cafe..thats not good either.

Most people who are against SW don't doubt it has results with people losing weight but when it comes to maintainance and long term relationship with food that the problems are their.

Food is fuel yes, but its meant to be enjoyed also.
Butter, cakes, white bread, avocados, nuts, smoothies, olive oil and takeaways are not the enemy.
But SW teaches they are.
Yes they promote you can have takeaways but they encourage you to stay away from most of the menu and go for low syn options like beef and black bean with boiled rice etc.
I'v heard it said at group something to think about is getting a iceland SW meal in for when the rest of the family are having a takeaway.
Thats no way to live.

My old club kept pushing a tin of chickpea dahl into a loaf tin as some kind of curried bread. Vile 🥴 Also cous cous cake and sugar free jelly, powdered gelatine and muller light yoghurts to make low syn haribo. The last one actually wasn’t bad but it was so much effort it’s easier to walk to the corner shop and get a bag of starmix 😂

I don’t follow slimming world anymore but I was previously a member to lose weight for my wedding. I didn’t have a huge amount of weight to lose, I’ve always been within a healthy weight I just feel happier being at a lower weight because I’ve got a small frame.
I had around 1 and a half stone to lose which was the lowest weight slimming world would allow me to get to based on my BMI.
One of the main issues I had with eating was binging, and I feel like SW promoted this. At the time I thought it was amazing because I could eat huge portions until I was uncomfortably full!!
I did get to my target but looking back it was so unhealthy. ‘Body magic’ wasn’t promoted at all so I did zero exercise, I also had zero energy. I would get upset if I was invited to a lunch out or a meal or event due to the anxiety of accidentally being ‘off plan’ or losing control. I didn’t take weighed cheese out in my bag but I probably would have if I’d thought about it 😂.
I remember going on holiday with my mum a few months before my wedding and her getting really worried about me as I would not eat a ‘normal’ meal, I was so obsessed with sticking to SW or I thought the weight would all come back on.
After my wedding I started eating more normally and of course gained some weight back. I just couldn’t face the prospect of living like that my whole life!
Years later I am back at my ‘target’ without SW, finally got into a good place with my eating habits and I eat a balanced diet, enjoy going out for meals and don’t worry about the ‘syns’. I do regular exercise and weight training not for body bloody magic but for my health.
Im the same weight as I was on SW but look a million times healthier, I’ve got some muscle definition, on SW I was skin and bone and looking back I looked so gaunt!

The Synning of medication is fucking ridiculous isn't it...

one of the biggest mysteries to me regarding slimming world will forever be the fact that you can have a bowl of sugar puffs that are laced with honey/sugar as a "B" choice but cornflakes are synned... I asked my consultant about this and she couldn't provide an answer as to why...

also, yesterday I saw something that absolutely boiled my piss...I was logging my weight on the app and I saw this...

thats "slimmingworldboy" another twat that had lost loads, gained loads back and is still a consultant...shouldnt be allowed.

talking of twats...

Tbh if you're out there synning cold remedies you have bigger problems than the cold.

I don't understand why slimming world bothered to make lempsips half a syn??
They're medicine and contain paracetamol, anymore than 4 sachets a day you'll be overdosing so not really something you can over consume..

Feeling Poorly? Focus on getting better and don’t stress too much in the meantime.

surely that’s all that had to say? That poster is horrendous! I would feel so overwhelmed if I was trying to “be good and stick to plan” while ill. They can get f*cked.

I'm not sure how he got it? There are plenty more worthy winners
Purely because he’ll be sitting with the highest overall weight loss. It won’t matter if he’s put 5 stone back on this year, if no one else has lost what he has overall he’ll get it. This one isn’t voted by group members, it’s purely numbers based. I’d be mortified to collect it the week I finally went back and had gained that much. But as a consultant he’ll have known the awards were being given out this week so I don’t think it was a coincidence he decided now was the time to face the scales.

No way were they low fat they tasted way too good. After the they were removed from the Sw app. One of my fellow members brought some and said they didn’t taste the same so porkys were definitely misleading people.

was
One rumour was that when porky lights boomed in popularity due to being half a syn that demand began to outstrip supply. So in order to keep up with their supermarket orders Whites started putting their traditional pork sausages into porky lights packaging.

Another rumour was that sales of SW iceland sausages bottomed out as everyone was opting for the far nicer porkylights so they raised the syn values knowing SW members would not eat 4.5 syns sausages for the most part.

Either way, the truth of sausage gate shall never be fully known.

A mini croissant covered in Nutella and mini eggs, for 11 syns?! (That’s each, she apparently only ate one of them).
That’s the type of shit winds me up and brought me here in the first place. That wouldn’t keep you full for an hour. And then you’ve to spend the rest of your day starving with zero leeway to use syns on anything else. That would also be an instant unfollow. Anyone who thinks they can eat shit like that for breakfast and lose weight long term is kidding themselves.
