She's a liar
I followed her because her food always looks so nice but then I'm like... if every breakfast or dessert has one piece of milkybar/choc orange/biscoff/jammie dodgers whatever on top and it's something different every other day, where's the rest of that milkybar going GemmaCame back on here just to ask about Gemma B SlimmingHer workouts look insane, to the point where she’s burning around 500 calories a day, something isn’t adding up! Her IG bio says “Lost over 2 stone calorie counting” except it hasn’t changed in a year

This is the thing you have to buy tickets don't you??I've lost 10 stone, kept it off, they havent/wont invite me...
This is the thing though with sw. That slice of cake will use 20 syns. Yet they can have bacon, sausage, eggs, potato, beans for free or few syns. Yet the breakfast is 4 times the calories of the cakeSounds similar to my consultant she was really good, but she moved her group to a bigger venue . She couldn’t get the members back she lost and eventually she left to go back to full time work.
You can have that slice of cake or a slice of pizza you just have to Syn it. A lot of them have this warped view that you have to cut food out and eat shitty little chocolates bars and quavers. Or worse make shit substitutes like smash or cauliflower pizza base, Weetabix Ferrero Rocher and Vinegar Pimms and then try to convince everyone else that it’s the best thing since sliced bread. No the fuck it isn’t! When they eventually lose control they binge on all the things they cut out over the last few months and they have ridiculous gains. done this myself on my first Slimmimg World attempt when I got sucked in by the insta crowd.
It sounds like she is using a Fitbit or something and taking the calories burned on the watch like it's fact. It's absolutely common knowledge that they are just an estimate and they've been measured to be WAY off. I'm quite active and I walk well over 10k steps just to get to work and back, and even on a day where I've been to the gym and gone to work I'd struggle to see over 2200 on the Fitbit. And this is the reason why Gemma-b never loses any weight if she is eating in excess of 2000 cals a day. I am prob a few stone heavier then her, work out 4-5 times a week & do 10k steps per day and after working out my calories to loose weight it is around 1700 a day. She is clearly making it up as she goes along
Maintained for just over 2 years. All diets have to be maintained. If you stop doing the habits that lost you weight, most people will overeat their calories and put weight back on. Again, that’s nothing to do with SW, but entirely on the person.Have you maintained your weight loss? No one is saying it doesn’t work whilst you’re doing it. But you’ll just gain it all the minute you stop. 95% of people do. That’s why we’re saying to stop dieting and lose weight sustainably
Sounds similar to my consultant she was really good, but she moved her group to a bigger venue . She couldn’t get the members back she lost and eventually she left to go back to full time work.Jon was greatest loser a few years back, not sure if he was on the cover but he was definitely in the magazine. I like him, his food is dull as dishwater but he does properly follow the plan
This has been a great catch up read. I finally ditched SW a few months back, even though I'd been CC for ages I still really enjoyed the groups and had that rare thing of a brilliant leader who genuinely cared and inspired. I had noticed her engagement dropping off though, then another consultant took over one of her groups until finally she announced she was quitting SW altogether. I think lockdowns and restrictions have just made it too hard. I personally wasn't enjoying the groups as much, the vibe had totally changed and putting the price up really galled me.
I cannot believe that Snares is a consultant, he shouldn't be allowed near a group. A quick look through his IG would tell you instantly that the guy has major issues with food and is a self pitying git with a massive chip on his shoulder! The absolute last person to help and inspire others.
This is me to a T. Binge eater through and through. I even went to see my GP and burst into tears in his office, he made me feel like an idiot and had never even heard of binge eating disorder. He was an arsehole, and I didn't go bacn. So I'm back to slimming worldSW wont help, CC wont help. None of it will help until you fix it mentally in your own head. Honestly. Ive did them all, numerous times over.
Its not easy at all and yes before I went to SW I had food issues, but those were magnified massively after I attended SW.
I had CBT for other issues but over time we got chatting about food and the issues I had. It helped me so much. Im in my 30s and have been dieting on and off since I was a teenager.
If you focus on the scales it will never work, it needs to be a change in your mindset for more than the scales.
For me its why SW didnt work for me, a full week focused on 2 minutes on the scales, what those scales told me was the be all and end all, I was judged by a room full of strangers on what the scales said. Also too many restrictions on certain types of food i.e wholemeal only. If youre eating a proper balanced diet you dont need to restrict yourself to wholemeal. I get 30g of fibre or more every day now and no longer eat those all important B choices for "fibre" when half of them arent even that high in fibre anyway!
I can keep all foods in my house now and not binge. Weve still got Easter Eggs. I can buy multi packs of crisps etc and not binge.
I have whatever I fancy and theres no drawing a line or starting tomorrow. For the first time in my adult life I had food freedom. Theres no such thing as cheat meals, off plan and on plan, flexi syns. Theyre all made up concepts.
You can self refer to CBT at my GPs surgery and I didnt wait too long at all. Due to Covid its all done through telephone / zoom so its easy to do. Most employers will give you time to do it also. Some employers may even offer it through occ health.
what pisses me off is how its always something or someone elses fault....At least he’s admitted he’s a fraud.
Stevie Wonder could see that, buddy![]()
He really does. He is so fucking vain it's sickening. I also hate when they talk about themselves when they were over weight in a disparaging way because to me it says that's how you see anyone who is currently over weight and people can't possibly think positively about themselves until they're slim.Ross posting about self-love sunday. We already know he loves himself without dedicating a day to it.
I logged my food via MFP for months to track calories. It was a pain in the proverbial, especially for created meals from scratch and not following a recipe. That and the bloody portion sizes were always in oz and cups. If nutracheck is better (and apparently it is) fair play to it, but it still didn’t change my problems with food. The people giving off about it are talking about their experiences and how they followed the SW plan, not the plan itself.Wow. "Apparently" wanna minimise or invalidate anymore?
The fact that you said in your first post, that calorie counting *sounds like* effort, tells me you're bullshitting that you've actually done it. Also, you've done a great job minimising experiences, by saying "apparently" people have had issues. They have. They're real. As uncomfortable as that is.
It’s nice, but it’s the new Nutella and I hate that it’s in everything. Nutella was definitely one of my triggers. I’d eat that straight from the jar.I'm sorry for the biscoff lovers but I really don't get the hype![]()
