This is almost the exact same as what my consultant has said. She told a lady in the group to give all chocolate to the kids, that is damaging and stupid to say. She had also advised my daughter to rejoin slimming world before giving birth and she will be able to monitor her weight loss and will probably win slimmer of the month. Between the terrible advice given, some terrible choices for consultants as Damocles has mentioned and their terrible brand ambassadors, I am thinking of quitting. A few of the others in group are in the same mind set too.
Honestly cannot stand slimming world. Eat as many syn free 1000 calorie breakfasts as you like, but if you eat that 150 calorie chocolate bar you'll be a massive hiefer😶

Thank you!! I wish people would read things properly before being nasty
Oh I wasn't being nasty, and I certainly wasn't offended, just kinda shocked that someone would go to such a length to lose weight.

but it does fucking piss me off when people say "SW gave me a bad relationship with food"

You've already got a bad relationship with food if you need anything like SW or WW...

I do sw myself, and I had a bad relationship with food for many many years before I even knew what SW was...I've eaten food out of bins for fucks sake because the idea of food being wasted would give me convulsions...SW is responsible for a lot of bad stuff, but I don't agree at all with "it gave me a bad relationship with food" bullshit at all...and thats not aimed at you, thats a comment in general.

I lost 6 stone on slimming world! I had my little boy and got really bad PND which resulted in me putting it all back on plus an extra stone. I've tried calorie counting and weight watchers since and I just cant do it! So I'm starting sw again tomorrow because it's the only diet that has worked for me. I actually follow the plan correctly though 🤣🤣 no biscoff for me!!
Well done on losing it first time around, that’s an amazing achievement, hope you’re doing okay.

this is one of my biggest issues with slimming world. For me it doesn’t work in the long term. It doesn’t instil new eating habits, you’re just working around old ones and usually end up putting weight back on (talking from personal experience)

it also doesn’t teach portion control in my opinion. You can have a meal stacked high with pasta, chicken, and it’s all “free food” which to me just didn’t teach me at all about portion sizing, not being greedy and over eating. Not much about nutrition either. I do think it’s great for people that have no idea how to start and if I works for you great, but I just don’t know if it’s sustainable.

and another thing I found strange, I’ve done about 3 different slimming world groups over the years and all the instructors (who went on and on about how many years they’d followed the plans) were allquite overweight themselves. Always baffled me, if it worked they’d be living proof surely. You wouldn’t have an overweight person as a personal trainer.

Went back to SW as a) wanted to shift some weight and b) knew it worked if I actually did it properly…. Anyway on our group FB this weekend someone went to the seaside and brought KITCHEN SCALES with them to weigh out their chips. It’s just a day ffs! That’s how unhealthy obsession starts..

What the hell 🙄 this girl baffles me, reckons she does Courtney Black workouts constantly and never looks any different! I definitely reckon she takes anything on My Fitness Pal as gospel which is why she isn’t losing as I’ve found loads of things on there are wrong and the calories are actually much lower than they are. Hopefully the course will teach her something about nutrition though and she won’t be advocating daily mug cakes as a way to lose weight!
I'm convinced her (and all the other similar instagram slimmers) are just bullshitting what they eat. Her breakfasts will have half a biscoff, half a crunchie, half a freddo - Where's the other half, are you saying you just throw everything else away and waste all that food or are you eating it eventually and just not counting it? One slice of garlic bread out of a whole fresh packet, did you just bin the other 7 slices aye? 😂

This is where I really struggle with the slimming world community. I know people who have wanted to lose weight and just got on with it, had their ups and downs (as well do). Then you get these knobs turning it into an influencer lifestyle being on a diet for your whole existence to lose weight and then regain is not inspiring, it becomes a cash cow for them they need these people to keep it going.

Do you people think Slimming World read here for honest feedback, reason I ask is because I will be on my own again at Slimming World next week, I have been going with my son as my daughter is now expecting. We have been going for 5 weeks and he has lost a stone. He said he doesn’t think Slimming World has the right focus towards men especially younger ones at all.

Today, the consultant promoted body magic to him and said to start by walking to a bus stop out of the group which is approximately 100 yards away and build from there. My son is now 12 stone exactly. I could walk for 3 mile no problem and I am a woman in my 50’s. He thinks the advice is poor, it doesn’t cover nutrition enough or decent exercise for younger people. He also thinks it is an hour of his life that he could get more benefit from doing a cross fit session. His feedback also said that the photos of men in tuxedos all saying the same thing about swapping a full English for a slimming world breakfast is rubbish.

I agree with him with the men photos, it’s just very show off and arrogant. The group had very low numbers too. Average of 8. Without someone I know to go with, I don’t enjoy it.
My consultant the other day said don't bother with body magic as it would take you 11 hours of walking to burn a 1lb 🤦‍♀️😵

Exercise should always be promoted as a good thing surely for both mental and physical health 🤷‍♀️

I do follow the plan and when I do it do lose weight (I tend to binge eat) but the group sessions I attend can be really annoying as there are cliques who seem to have been doing for years but never at target 🤣

I’m following a woman who’s lost 8.5 st, it’s amazing. But now it seems she’s obsessed with even putting on half a pound. She puts rice on her white plate and spreads it around to make it look like there’s more. I really think she’s developed an eating disorder.

Honestly if you can't enjoy a bit of food, booze and chocolate at Christmas it's no life really. You don't have to turn it into a binge, but god have a couple of days off.

I lost 3 stone last year, have taken a break from it all for the last 6 weeks or so and gained maybe 2kg overall. I've been sensible, haven't overeaten or binged but I've absolutely enjoyed myself and I know it will come off when I get back to it.

My biggest bugbear about SW influencers is this ridiculous all or nothing attitude they have. Drawing a line, blah blah.

However though, if he's spent all the time eating half the size portions to lose the weight, and he's suddenly doubling it. It'd contribute massively.
Obviously not that alone, like you say. Because thats hell of a lot to gain!
When he initially joined SW he was 33 stone and lost 16
Then hes regained 18 so that means he's 35 stone 😲
Thats in unbelievable yoyo within a space of just 4 years
His organs must be screaming.
He got married after losing his weight the first time you'd think his wife would say something or step in

To maintain a weight of 30+ stone you must be hammering the calories and never doing any exercise of any kind. It must be horrific to be trapped in that cycle of binging and self loathing. The only way you could get out of it is being really really honest. I still think weightloss is a mental battle. Something has to click in your brain to truly change your eating habits, whatever plan you follow.

Is it right to say SW is in massive decline especially since covid? The consultants are all leaving, what's happening??
I think they need to carefully check out who is able to be a consultant.. I honestly believe some of the members who have a big following on instagram only do it for instagram content and nothing anyone can say will change my mind on that.

Aaron snares, national award winner of mr sleek 2020, lost more than 16 stone, he had done amazing, piled it back on, but uses images of himself to promote the group he runs before he had piled it back on...

these are his last 2 weigh ins..

I'm sorry but how can he stand in a room and talk to other people about their weight when he cannot control his own?

sw need to get rid of all these people that take the piss out of the plan, as I've said before, it's not the sw plan thats the problem, its the people like him up there that take the piss out of it that give it a bad name.

Does anyone here follow gemmab_slimming? I’m just totally confused. She says she’s been calorie counting and exercising for over a year now, but she looks bigger than when she started? Her body has not changed one bit or face? - totally confused.

My old leader used to have packed out crowds at her meetings and she'd say "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!" My jaw hit the floor.

"Taking the fat off as I eat"

surely this compromises the rest of the bacon if its not had the fat cut off and that fat will now go all over the rest of the bacon during the cooking of said bacon?

from a sw consultant no less.....you know as well as I do that he ate all that bacon with the fat still on it...thats why he looks like a butter mountain in my previous post.

FUCK ME.
