Saying you can eat all the pasta, chicken and rice you want and still loose weight is such an issue. Not teaching you anything about food or weightloss.

Lately I found two very good slimming world accounts of men without the arrogance. Slimmingworld_welshguy and phil.kayes.sw but they are of closer age to me than my son.
I prefer to follow accounts that are not bragging constantly or acting in a arrogant fashion. Slimming world need to take a hard look at who represent their brand!

I was in group last night, and I asked my consultant about snaresylad being a consultant and him "cutting off the fat as he eats his bacon" and she said that it isnt possible that it could still be classed as free because its cooking in its own fat. She also said if he does it, does that mean he encourages his members that its ok to do it too...possibly damaging their losses.

like I said...he should be nowhere near a sw group overseeing peoples weightlosses when he bastardises his own fucked up version of slimming world for the gram.

no doubt when he reads this (I know he does) he'll be crying about being trolled again.

I’ve been reading these threads for a while and thought I’d join in!
Over the years I’ve done SW on and off, usually online as the thought of going to group gave me a bit of anxiety. I’d lose a few pounds and then end up putting more back on, so at the start of 2020 myself and my housemate joined a local group thinking having somebody weigh us would make us to stick to it. After my first weigh in I realised how toxic the consultants are, I’d only lost 1lb compared to my housemates 3lb even though we’d eaten the same (it was totm for me but apparently that wasn’t an acceptable excuse) and was questioned on how I’d do better next week. She actually made me feel like I’d done something wrong and I felt terrible after. I still continued with the journey until we went into lockdown and it was at this point I realised I’d become quite disordered with my eating. Saving all my calories for a chocolate binge at night etc.
I stopped SW when the first lockdown started as I felt like food was the only joy I’d have living alone, I started eating foods I loved and cooking with oil. As I was so accustomed to the rules of slimming world I felt like I was going to be gaining weight rapidly eating like this, so I didn’t weigh for a while. When I did I was shocked to see I’d lost a fair bit of weight and since then it’s continued coming off helping me lose 3 stone without being on an official diet. I feel so much happier in myself and I can go out for a meal and not stress.
I completely understand that SW does work for a lot of people, but some of the people in my group who had done it for a while seemed to revolve their whole life around it and that just isn’t for me.
I maintained my loss for a while and recently it’s started creeping up a few pounds, and for once it hasn’t bothered me. Whereas before even a 1lb gain would have me upset.
I’ve attached an image from an app I have for tracking my weight, this is the last few years and it’s crazy how clear it is at what point I fully stopped SW.

You've done amazing! It really just goes to show that we don't need these crazy rules and diets to lose weight, and we CAN eat good food and enjoy it and still see the scales go down.

There’s always a fad of some description with these clowns.
I remember there was a gluten free bread roll from sainsburys or something that every bastard cleared the shelves of cos they were a hefty “B” choice. This was Harold Prickard/Big Towers/ mummy/daddy Wright/JSG era. That was the most comical time.
And then people started putting squirty cream in them and options hot chocolate powder mixed with a little bit of water on top and called it in éclair 🤢
Or putting jam and squirty cream in them and calling it a donut.
Honestly, the most vile thing I've ever seen 😂

Can't remember their names but that was started by someone and Amanda 🤔 they had a joint slimming world account.
Think that was one of their names

I got my 10.5 stone award this week and my consultant asked me to speak to the group.. I flat out refused, I have never wanted to disappear so far up my own arsehole so fast.
Seriously though, well done! That’s an amazing achievement 😁

Me too! 🤣🤣 It would be absolutely brilliant

You wouldn't get near the mothership madge, she'd probably have the men in black spray fry lite in your eyes as soon as you looked at her (syn free pepper spray)
If Big Towers and Harrysboringdogandnanblog won’t be there what’s the fucking point?

Has anyone seen Gemmab.slimming is now doing a personal trainer course? 🙄
What the hell 🙄 this girl baffles me, reckons she does Courtney Black workouts constantly and never looks any different! I definitely reckon she takes anything on My Fitness Pal as gospel which is why she isn’t losing as I’ve found loads of things on there are wrong and the calories are actually much lower than they are. Hopefully the course will teach her something about nutrition though and she won’t be advocating daily mug cakes as a way to lose weight!

I like SW & not one for bashing it as it worked for me … but I’ve just heard fresh pasta (not filled) is now free … this does confuse me because calorie wise has anything changed 😂
As much as I like the plan I can’t get my head around changes like this 😂😂😂
They make it up as they go along. Like the mugshots being 'free' then suddenly not being 'free' despite the fact the calories of the mugshots stayed the exact same.

Blueberries suddenly becoming a speed food, when for years they were just a 'free' food. Can guarantee the composition of blueberries did not change 🙈

Itl be based on behaviours / habits of members rather than anything scientific related to weightloss.

Do SW Instagramers actually think they're celebrities?
That Ross and Kirsty doing a Q&A is ridiculous.

How did you lose weight? I followed the plan
How did you maintain your weight? I followed the plan
How can I lose weight? Follow the plan.
Q&A session over.

Why do people when they lose weight feel the need to become self indulgent bellends.
I think it is ego manifesting itself into a form of narcissism. I cannot fathom out whether their obese years has made them envious of slimmer people and now they have lost weight they feel like they should be the focus of other peoples envy and attention. I am more of the opinion that they are self indulgent and arrogant. They have a unnaturally high opinion of themselves that is for certain.

I follow a woman local to me who started at over 17st, with a goal weight of just under 9st. Bless her heart she did lose it, with pure determination, and my hat is off to her!!
But now she obsesses over the slightest lb. last week she’s put on over 5lb, but managed to lose 4lb of it by the next weigh in by (looking at her pics of her food), chicken/meat and veg with maybe a spoon or 2 of rice. I get she doesn’t want to go back to the way she was before, but she doesn’t half look miserable in her post weight loss pictures. Unlike her pre weight photos. There has to be a happy medium surely?
I was like her and gained it all back and some after 4yrs of maintaining. I think once you are obese (which I am) it’s a harder battle to stay thin. My cousin is naturally slim, doesn’t give food a second though and eats what she likes when she likes. Doesn’t workout at all BUT she always stops when she is full and only eats when hungry. She has no emotional reactions that lead her to overeat, whereas I eat for every emotion (mainly when anxious!). There’s a fine line when you get to goal of relaxing slightly and losing the plot.

He really does. He is so fucking vain it's sickening. I also hate when they talk about themselves when they were over weight in a disparaging way because to me it says that's how you see anyone who is currently over weight and people can't possibly think positively about themselves until they're slim.

I did SW back in 2012, it was the worst thing I did, I managed to lose about 5 stone but I hardly ate anything just to get my next certificate. We had an evening weigh in so I wouldn’t eat all day and constantly weigh myself before going as I needed the next stone or stone and a half award, I would make myself sit under a towel with a hair dryer just to sweat it out, it was NUTS - totally agree it causes disordered eating, not allowing certain foods unless it’s counted for etc
