ladies. Let me tell you I believe I've successfully established a casual/regular but temporary fwb arrangement. This is a man on pills that help him last longer, who's .. had to do this professionally in the past.. so let's say that when it comes to sex it's everything I could ever ask for on paper but he can't quite get the job done. those are rare times
So a former pornstar or escort can't get the job done? Being a straight woman is just the pits of despair, isnt it?

Post menopause I’ve gone from being someone who loved sex to someone who is totally uninterested. It’s very freeing. I appreciate it’s hard if you’re not there yet!

Happy singles days you absolute treats! 😍💕

My bestie (who is normally fiercely independent) came over to mine last night freaking out over a guy she’s slept with once who she’s now mooning over. She was like a completely different person. It was so wild to me that someone who I’ve always looked up to as the ultimate independent woman was now fretting over her appearance and the way she types messages, constantly checking her phone to see if he’s online. She’s also stopped eating meals and is living on shakes. Apparently this has nothing to do with pining for the guy who’s “too good looking” for her and is just a coincidence 🥴

Never been happier to be single! 😂
Wow - he must have been bloody good! Seriously though, no man is THAT good (and they're never as good as they think they are).

I genuinely don't feel this at all. All of my friends who were long-term married look at my life and say that if anything were to happen to their partners they wouldn't look for another relationship
Interesting, thanks for sharing this! It’s always interesting how different groups of people can be so… different. I’d say 90% of my female married friends would be immediately looking for the next husband if they found themselves divorced or widowed. They think I’m weird for not dating or trying to meet someone. Maybe that’ll change over time though. We’re early 40s.

I don’t need a partner, but I agree that a partner is great to have when it comes to splitting the bills and take the trash out!

Where did you go? I just had a solo staycation (Highlands), which was generally nice but the terrible weather and obligation to sight-see all the landmarks means I feel shattered rather than refreshed by it. I want to go somewhere warm, accessible and peaceful.
STALIS! I can't recommend it enough for a solo trip mix of do nothing or fab trips!

You put your finger right on it there.
Gotta wonder how much Mum's choices were influenced by her own social circle, considering she seems to literally see it as 'but all your friends are jumping off that bridge!' When all her friends get divorced, will she have to too?
And I notice mum says nothing about her own life as role model to her daughter (is she single? If she's partnered, is it still with her daughter's dad? Not that she has to be either, but its interesting.) other than being a 'youngish mum', which is sort of a sad brag in itself.
Does feel like there's a slight barb from Mum to her high achieving, popular, financially independent daughter here - haven't quite gotten it all yet, have we, missy?

“There were also issues with him not changing his pants daily” NOPE NOPE NOPE 😭

I would think it’s a joke if I hadn’t seen so many Reddit posts about grown men not wiping their bums properly
Blimey what’s the subreddit called for the dirty bum complaints? 😆

Whenever I feel like this I remind myself of all the decent men I know. I have two great brothers in law (and one dickhead one but that's a story for another day), who are lovely, normal, kind, decent, great husbands and dads, they clearly adore my sisters and respect women. It's a nice reminder that while I am yet to meet MY good man, there are lots of good men in the world.
Such a good point and I do need to remind myself of this!

The only time I would want a relationship is at the weekend. I do enjoy doing everything alone but it'd be nice to have someone to do something big with. Exploring ne w places and day trips are great alone but it'd be nice to do something with someone sometimes (I don't have friends where I live, they all live far away).
I used to get this (I do have friends nearby but they're often busy or not interested in doing the same stuff as me) and discovered there was a Meetup group based locally that did a lot of day trips - maybe your area might have something similar?

Will this thread get shut down if we recommend our love honey (other shops available) purchases Because everyone needs to know about the satisfyer 2
My friend recommended the womanizer back in lockdown and let's just say....that might have been the final nail in my single-by-choice coffin. Why on earth do I need a partner - I've got all bases covered! (And no man can compete with that thing...)

Do you know what gives me the ick. Couples who get married after 2 years of being together. Wtf is all that about! How can you know you really want to be committed to that person after 2 years?
A male colleague said to me that you know after 18 months if you're with the right person. 🤔

Had a dream about my Ex last night (probably because I've been talking about him in the last couple of days, that tends trigger my subconscious) In the dream I was asking myself why I'd ended our relationship, when he was so great and feeling really happy that we were getting back together.
Of course the dream him only included the positives (plus some other positives he never or rarely displayed) and none of the negatives. Sadly dream him is just that!
