Post natal midwife does the first 4 or 6 weeks and then Plunket starts once you've been discharged. I think thats how it worked

The last MW and first Plunket visit used to overlap when I had experience with it

It sure didn’t look like a particularly ‘special time’ when T was giving R the bottle in the photo! Also did she talk about the mastitis at all? Such a great new mum thing to bring up, super common, could have been relatable - but I don’t remember her talking about it at all!

Has she had it with R? I recall her talking about being unwell due to it with A. That was well before the CF thing came about. She was put on meds to clear it up from memory and did alot of hand expressing in the shower. It featured for about a week and then we heard nothing more about it.

Just in regards to drinking whilst breasfeeding it is considered safe so long as you wait to feed and not feed whilst drinking or just after drinking
Because if you feed whilst drinking or just after baby can be sleepy etc.
Maybe Simmo can educate herself!

Hmm OK. That's not the protocol but I can understand that nurses get busy trying to squeeze people in and also covid messed up the timelines a lot.

All my kids had their last visit between 5-6 weeks with midwife and from 6 weeks they were seen by plunket or Tamariki Ora…
