He has posted - I can't be bothered to link it. I will have more to say. But key to his "defence" is that - "there are no ongoing investigations" (by ECC) into him and that the reason he got paid so much compared to his former colleagues is that he did 90 - 95% of the work. . Well I am sure they will all be pleased to hear about that. His primary irk being that a councillor called his work "dubious" and, more recently, that the old cabal has been turning in on itself. Maybe Kirsty should step in to arbitrate?

I think this might be what he is upset by: View attachment 3351573

He moans about being "slagged off in a public space" and claims to have "stumbled upon" the criticism. But let’s unpack why this statement, much like his inflated public contracts, doesn’t hold up under scrutiny.

The critique posted by Jon Morter’s ex-wife was reposted by United in Kind, the very platform Kirsty's "crack team" of social media experts - including her favourite Simon, helped establish. Conveniently, Simon omits that United in Kind is now likely under the control of Jon, his former collaborator. Given their intertwined professional and personal histories, it’s disingenuous to suggest he "stumbled upon" this. Simon’s framing of this as a random encounter feels like a deliberate attempt to downplay his awareness of the controversy. His cryptic “I am the victim” post is designed to mislead his supporters, who likely remain unaware of these details.

And what is she criticizing? Simon’s receipt of nearly half a million pounds in public funds to manage social media for Essex County Council during the pandemic. This is alongside allegations of improper contracting practices, unchecked nepotism, and a disregard for fair pay and accountability. Instead of addressing these serious points, Simon’s response is classic deflection. Rather than engaging with the issues of inflated payments, stolen ideas, or mismanagement, he wants you to focus on his feelings—how "hurt" he is by people’s ingratitude.

This is classic victim framing: avoid accountability by making it about betrayal and your wounded pwide.
whilst i don't disagree with her, i still go back to the same point: is the grievance that Simon was paid more than her partner, or that he was paid too much? i am of the opinion she wouldn't be mouthing off if her partner was paid an eyewatering sum.

You turned comments off because you are a coward.
Just for once take your bleeping large hands out of your pocket and put your hands up. Stop lying. It won't work. The slither of "internet fame" is long gone.

One minute you're on Jeremy Vine, feted as a 'social media disruptor' and trousering £500k of public money, the next you're posting essays about your innocence and begging for Octopus referrals. Life comes at you fast eh Si?

He finally got engagement above double figures, so what does the guru do? Oh reposts the SAME thing saying “the locals“ have asked him not to. Theres one comment saying it, and clearly a joke. So he’s not only used that one persons innocent comment to drum up more engagement on an already dead post, but also put that person on full blast. His contempt for anyone continues.

Blah blah blah. Si, you have no credibility to save. You are known for a terrible fake news (it's not satire) site, stealing other peoples 'content' and for chatting rit. Your reputation precedes you, meaning people don't believe a word you say, a mighty big hole you've dug yourself!

Anyone else would edit the original post, not sneaky Simon. He seizes the lazy opportunity to make more 'content' out of it. Very dubious, Si 👍🏻

Nobody had heard of Alnwick until Simon went there. Totally unheard of, never visited by anybody kinda town. Nobody has ever heard of books in fact til Simon told us about them. We thought they were a very dry thin bread.

(It is a great book shop. I went there in 2018. In the summer and I didn't ignore a bunch of weather warnings to drive from one end of the country to the other just to act like an hole from a different latitude)

He's going at great length to clear his name, it makes me think there's more to it as his social media fans don't care about it and he has no real career to salvage.

Yesterday he commented that he could talk about stuff as its not concluded yet also wrote a long post about it was concluded.
Any normal person would shut up and move on, letting the quality of the rest of their work speak for himself. Unfortunately for him he has no other work of any decent standard. All he is doing is drawing attention to what a spectacular failure he is.

To put his kids’ lives at risk for content play in the snow
It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if that's a photo taken anywhere of his kid in the snow and he's pretended he's in Alnwick because of some sort of applause his gigantic head thinks he'd get. And all the LOL's for what a dude he is driving in the snow.

There wasn't much less snow where he lives, except it rained and washed most of it away by the morning. Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't go as far as Alnwick to get that little dusting of snow
