No empties but cleaned out and reorganised my products drawer which included chucking some things that will never get emptied. There wasn't a huge stash to begin with but what I do have now reflects my current life which needs more skincare than make up. I kept all my brushes and a very versatile eye shadow pallette, a pressed powder, 2 lipsticks and a lip stain. I can do the lipstick as contour hack if I need to go to a wedding etc. Otherwise feeling good 👍

Today's empties

Nars light reflecting setting powder - this was a decent powder but I have used less expensive ones which are just as good
Aveeno skin relief body oil spray - loved this and it smells gorgeous, not too greasy , very moisturising
Skin saints collagen serum - very good considering it only costs £4 in Tesco

Another tube of Bioré Aqua Rich Sun Essence SPF50. I've lost count of how many of these I've used over the years, best sunscreen ever.

Trinny London Better Off gel cleanser - travel size. This was the first Trinny skin care item I’ve tried and I’m afraid I didn’t like it. The instructions state avoid the eyes. I need to be able to use a cleanser over my eyelids so this was a fail for me. It also smelled and reminded me of washing up liquid. 🥴 It wasn’t a complete fail though because tbh I wanted the container to use for travel so I can decant a cream cleanser into it. Wouldn’t purchase the full size.

The Inkey List Fulvic Acid Cleanser - I bought this in Home Bargains for the great price of £4.99 for 150ml. Unfortunately it didn’t state on the packaging that it was a gel cleanser and I’ve never found a gel cleanser that I like. I used it for a week and I knew it wasn’t for me so I’ve given it to a friend. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Ayu Instant Under Eye Concealer, shade light 1 - I have a problem with dark circles under my eyes. It’s not through lack of sleep, I’ve had them since I was a teen. I have searched for years and years for my Holy Grail and tried so many concealers and correctors. I’m afraid this isn’t it. It is a lovely concealer, sponge topped applicator, and it did a good job but not enough for me to want to repurchase. My search continues…

Gucci Bamboo Eau du Parfum 5ml sample - received this in my subscription box. It was fine but I don’t love the scent enough to buy the full size.

Another empty:
Dr Dennis Gross Resurfacing Liquid Peel - travel size. This was in a GWP beauty box. Didn’t see any difference to my skin and it was a faff waiting 2 mins u till I could apply the second liquid so I wouldn’t repurchase.

I hate finishing so many products at the same time because it means it’s hard to stagger starting new products so if there’s a reaction It’s harder to find the culprit. 😳

February empties!

NYX Pore Filler primer - I wanted a cheaper version of Benefit Porefessional, chasing that slippery silicon feeling. This was nice on the skin and blurred out all my pores, but it was soooo crumbly and messy and hard to get out of the tube. Not sure if mine was just dodgy. Don’t know if I’ll repurchase.

TBH No Scrubs jelly cleanser - loved this. Smelt great and was a fun jelly to milk consistency. Removed all my make up and sunscreen. Amazing packaging that gets every last drop out. Butttttt even with using one pump an evening (instead of the 2-3 it says on the bottle), I used it up SO fast. Might repurchase if I see it on a decent sale.

LRP Mela B3 serum - new favourite serum. Did wonders for my skin texture and stubborn post acne pigmentation. Didn’t love the dropper or the colour of the bottle because I couldn’t see what was left. Already repurchased.

QV night cream - super boring and simple, but a great moisturiser. Already repurchased.

February empties

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Sensitive Skin - I bought this to remove my eye makeup but it burnt like an absolute b*tch. Was relegated to using it to clean up my hands after getting ready or removing swatches. Would not repurchase.

Superdrug Extracts Shea Butter Body Scrub - Inexpensive, large tub of cream based scrub. It was nice enough but it wasn't as scrubby as I'd like. Nice warming scent though. Would not repurchase.

JVN Instant Recovery Serum - This was supposed to be an all in one serum that could be used for hydration and heat protectant. It was lightweight but made my hair feel greasy. I rarely use heat on my hair and when I did I felt like this did absolutely nothing. Waste of money, would not repurchase.

I'm From Vitamin Tree Water-Gel - This was a GWP from Stylevana. I used it as a day cream because I prefer a gel texture if I'm wearing makeup. This has kind of the same texture as hair gel but without the stickiness, think a thick jelly if that makes sense. I found it to be really hydrating but if I used too much it broke down my makeup. Took a while to dry down too. I did like it but probably best for coldest months.

Superdrug Crystal Anti-perspirant Deodorant - My favourite roll on and I think it's been discontinued. Came in three scents, all unobtrusive, and was about 80p and constantly on offer. Bummed I'll have to find another deodorant now. Stupid Superdrug ☹

Used up some decanted remains of a random shampoo. Very drying and makes my hair feel matted. Unfortunately I don't remember what this originally was so I can't even determine what I wouldn't repurchase 😂

I’ve finished my second bottle of Garnier shampoo, and I must say, this line is fantastic for normal to dry hair. It leaves my hair feeling soft while preserving its natural oils. I definitely recommend it!

On the topic of empties - make sure you do some sort of recycling scheme.

You get £5 worth of points in Harrods beauty if you take back 5 recyclables (I think you can do this once a week there) and Boots do a scheme too.

Adds up and takes a nice chunk off a new foundation or something pricey! #cozzielivs

Essence Blotting Paper. Love them, very cheap and do the job. Will repurchase when I’ve used up the others I’m using right now.

Dove Beauty Bar. Absolute MVP for me, I use this aus a shower bar, have been using it for years and keep going back every time I try something different.

Garnier Vitamin C eye cream. Good riddance! Used this up vey liberally on my body, it’s atrocious as an eye cream. It doesn’t do anything but makes everything pill and lift off, including itself.

I’ve just done a big beauty order after everything running out at once (typical!) so thought I’d share.

hair care
Kerastase Genisis shampoo, conditioner, serum & blow dry leave in spray. Yes they’re pricey but first time in about 4 years my hairs actually growing & not snapping off!

make up
Elemis Superfood Glow Primer
Nars Tinted Moisturiser (love this for everyday/work)
Elf instant lift brow pencil

Body
Neom hand & body lotion
Rose & Caramel fake tan (medium)

Not really an “empty” but I’m onto month three of dermatica and my skin has never been better. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for new skincare

Inkey List BHA serum. This was my second or third bottle, I like it but won’t repurchase as my skin started to react to it halfway through the bottle. Shame, I liked it and it did a great job helping with blackheads, I had to use it up on my legs.

Alverde Calendula chapstick. I’ve lost count of how many I’ve had of these, I think I’ve bought this for ten years now, maybe longer. Undulating, good lip care that doesn’t smell and taste bad to me. I’ve a problem with scented stuff or those that are supposed to taste like something and this one only very slightly smells like wax to me for a minute.

Glow recipe watermelon toner - I liked this and got used to the fragrance as I went through the bottle. Nice milky texture.

Elizabeth Arden night cream, really liked this consistency. Got it on a very cheap offer in an airport, lasted me ages - about 9 months of almost daily use.

a mini Clinique eye cream - not sure it does anything but feels nice

beauty of joseon - glow serum - absolutely loved this, was so good for my skin. Would 100% repurchase but need to get to a big boots toneo

kate Somerville Goats Milk cleanser, one of my favourite cleansers for night time 2nd cleanse. So moisturising and gentle.

cerave Oil cleanser - one of my other favourite cleansers, a constant re-purchase for me

Haven’t bought any skincare in 3 months now - a record for me! Slowly working through my stash.

Scientia Dusk Elixir - bought this in a beauty box. It was okay but nothing special that would entice me to repurchase.

T/Gel Therapeutic shampoo - this helps the psoriasis on my scalp making it less itchy. Unfortunately it is very drying on my hair so I tend to only use it for the first wash and I use a more forgiving shampoo for the second wash. I have been using a regular shampoo for the past couple of weeks and my scalp has got very itchy already so I would repurchase. That said, I’m now trying a Body Shop Ginger shampoo to see if that helps my scalp without drying out my hair. Fingers crossed it works.

Silk Oil of Morocco Argan Hair Creme - had this for years 😳 and it’s meant to help with split ends. I no longer have split ends so I wouldn’t repurchase.

L'oreal Age perfect BB cover - This was very 'orangey' and the shade light was still too dark for me, I used it but definitely won't buy this again

Lidl version of Lush Dizzy rose shower gel - was absolutely lovely and lasted for a long time, gorgeous fragrance, will be buying more
