Garnier Whole Blends Camelia 1 Minute Hair Mask. Nice stuff, I use this instead of conditioner. Have replaced this already with the ricewater hair mask of the the same series, mostly because I like the smell so much.

Binned Inkey List Succinic Acid treatment. I've tried to like this, didn't use it for a while and tried again, but as usual, this "treatment", meant to make spots heal faster only ever enrages my skin and now I've once more a hugely inflamed zit that is very painful. Wish I wasn't such a weirdo for giving things a chance over and over again, but I feel bad for spending money and then hating something, but this now had to go. Plus, it smells terrible and the smell also lingers

Quite a few empties this time…

Ouai Scalp & Body Scrub travel size - this was a GWP. It smelled lovely. I didn’t use it on my scalp but was nice on my body and left my skin smooth. It’s £36 full size so I’m unlikely to repurchase.

Odacité Soul Soothing bath soak travel size - a beauty box item. This again smelled lovely and was nice in a relaxing bath. At £27 full size I’m unlikely to repurchase.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer shade Vanilla - this was fine. Concealed well enough but there are others I prefer so I wouldn’t repurchase.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo - another beauty box item - this was very good. Unlike cheaper ones, it didn’t leave a white caste on my hair. I don’t use dry shampoo very often but this worked well. However at £25 for a full size I just can’t justify spending that much money on another.

Templespa Toning Essence Mist - I received this in my subscription box. I wasn’t keen on the smell of this - it was too “herby” for me. I don’t think it made any difference to my skin either so I wouldn’t repurchase.

StriVectin Tightening Neck Cream - a subscription box item. This made zero difference to my neck and at £49 I wouldn’t repurchase.

Freya + Bailey Peep! Eye cream - subscription box item. I wasn’t keen on this for 2 reasons. Firstly, one pump dispenses way too much product but you can’t do a half pump so a lot of product was wasted. Secondly, I hated the smell. It reminded me of “Loveheart“ sweets - sickly sweet and not a fragrance I want on my face.

Paradox Repair 3 in 1 conditioner - another subscription box item. It was a conditioner, I don’t know what else to say really. I’ve never found a conditioner that has “wowed” me and this was this same. It did what it’s meant to do but nothing exceptional. I did like the silver pump dispenser though. At £20 I’d not repurchase.

Soaper Duper Shea Butter Body Wash - bought this years ago and it got stuck at the back of the bathroom cupboard. Wasn’t keen on it - it looked like melted chocolate so it looked like I’d done a dirty protest in the shower! It’s discontinued now but I wouldn’t want another anyway.

So 9 items and not one repurchase! Although I would buy the Living Proof dry shampoo if it was on offer at a more reasonable price.

The Ordinary GF 15 solution - loved it. Emptied the bottle in four weeks (twice/day application). I feel like it's really made a difference to my eye area already, tightened it up. I've started a second bottle.

I’ve been looking at this. Do you use it with other actives and does it sit ok with them?

In the morning, I just follow with a moisturiser, and in the evening I follow with retinol (also The Ordinary). The GF is like water, so it soaks in immediately. I typically put the GF on a while before the retinol, but only because I tend get changed and take my makeup off early in the evening and I don't like the oily feel of the retinol I use on my skin. So I leave that until I'm going to bed.

Thanks. I use retinol too so this is really useful to know :)

I have a dilemma. I have three really really old Naked eyeshadow palettes. Part of me wants to chuck them and get a new, small palette of colours I will actually use but the other part of me thinks I should use them. But the rate I’m going they will outlive me! Any thoughts?

You could pull them out of the pallets and put them into just one of those magnetic ones? But if you don’t use them at all, just chuck them.

Swiss O Par Lash dyeing kit in black, enough for twelve uses. I don’t like this particularly, but it is the only one I’ve found that says it’s suitable for lashes and not only eyebrows and that is sold in a drugstore. You need to first soak the lashes with a vitamin C solution and then the dye and that is exactly what I don’t like, it’s so messy. Will look around for something else as I like having my lashes done. Makes me feel put together and give my eyes some contour without needing to do anything.

Finally! Garnier Whole Blends Charcoal shampoo.
It says it's for dry lengths and greasy roots and that is exactly what you get from it. I did like the smell, but overall, this was one of the worst shampoos I've tried in a long time. Used it up very generously also as a body wash.

Just used up the Mario badescu aha body wash - bought in the hope it would clear up my body acne. While it seems it works well on lots of people, it’s a big nope from me. 😩 it’s just one product in a long line that I’ve bought looking for a magical fix.

No improvement in my skin and didn’t love the smell. Quite herby, and strong smelling. Not for me.

Bless you. Thanks for reading my rant. Yes dettol soap is a fav of mine. While it doesn’t clear up my acne at all, it certainly keeps it somewhat under control. There was a period of time where I couldn’t get hold of any, and my skin looked so much worse. So this will be a forever fav of mine

Ah well in that case I have another recommendation:
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Anti-Bacterial Cleansing Wash

It's amazing. I have been searching for an alternative because of the companies ethics but to date I haven't found anything better.

Have you tried Head and Shoulders?
My friend had severe back acne and her specialist asked her to try washing with Head and Shoulders. She tried it, expecting no results at all, and it cleared it!

Update: I’ve spoken to my friend today and she said she used Dandrazol 2%. She was told to leave it on for 3 minutes before rinsing off. Her back cleared up in 2 weeks.
