I let my cats out to begin with for short times but now have a cardio for them. They do sometimes escape so I'm glad they went out to begin with as at least they come home if they do escape

This! The rescues, or freaks, or the ones who were without homes when they were kittens, they often overcompensate, and I LOVE it.

I say that Dill read the How to Live with a Human Handbook, but he skim read and skipped the boring parts, which is why he often gets things wrong. And this is why he likes to run in, chomp my foot, grab a sock, run away. The chapter actually says "humans enjoy you rubbing your head against their foot, and you get to put your smell on them."

@LouBug19 sorry I don't have any advice. I'm also quite good at just ignoring cheekiness and I suspect I'd do this re your cat. It could get a tad annoying!!

I've got a big, hefty ginger boy who generally loves his food. About 3-4 wet packets a day. About two weeks ago, he stopped aside from a mouthful here and there. I took him to the vet and everything seemed absolutely fine - teeth, ears, heart, etc. The vet said he needed deworming, and gave him a steroid and anti-nausea shot, she was reluctant to do bloods as they were done in May and perfect. It did the trick and he started eating again.

Cats are weird creatures, it's hard to tell what they're feeling. Is it warm right now where you live? That could be a factor.

It's normal for any cat to go off their food now and then, they can get fussy.

Also I love the idea of a big, hefty ginger boy. He sounds gorgeous.

It's so hot here atm, it got to almost 43 today. Just now I opened the freezer door and Thor lay in front of of it, refusing to move.
I had to pick him up off the floor and move him to the bedroom, where the aircon is. I feel bad for them but we do what we can to keep them cool.

He's the least stand-offish cat I've ever known.

I wonder if he has a bit of Maine Coon in him? They're very dog-like and also nosy, they like to follow their people around and enjoy hanging out.

looking for advice on my 5 month old kitten

he has had gastro issues and the vet wants to put him on a prescription food. The only thing is that its a dry food and he will not eat dry food at all. I told her this and she says that if i just remove all other food sources he'll start to eat it. Has anyone had any success with this method?

I never have Xmas trees in ny flat, but I have some cute photos of my parents cats as kittens sitting in the middle of their tree, little boy was such a poser as a kitten and 100% knew what he was doing, posing for cute fotos 😅

Hi and welcome! I'm a big fan of Tuxies, they're so sweet.

As for the flea thing the only way I've found to really stop fleas is keeping the cats indoors. Impractical, I know!

Years ago I found that my housemates girlfriend was bringing fleas in with her from her own pets, O had to sequester the cats in a spare room and flea bomb the house.
I hope you find a solution x

i had to do this with Freddy - I used to wait while he curled up next to me on the sofa and then pounced when he wasn't paying any attention to me. I then clipped the longest nails very quickly... i clipped as many as I could before he twigged what was happening and then got annoyed with me.
It helped that i used to hold his little paws in my hand anyway so he was used to me stroking his beans and giving his little feetz kisses etc ( he was quite tolerant of me doing this really).

I also used to ask the vet to cut them when I took him in for a check up/jabs ( but wouldn't book him in just for this ).

Yeah the xmas one is a favourite for sure, that's actually the one i gave him as an apology 🤣 haven't dared give them the strawberry one yet
