Yesterday, Jimmy was intent on opening the kitchen cupboards yet again.

And, yet again, he failed to do so.

He figured he'd try his luck with the washing machine door instead.

He eventually managed to open it wide enough to stick his head in, gave a quick sniff, and then returned to the cupboard door once more to yet more failure.

I could see his little cat brain trying to work out why he could open one door but not the other.

Yes whisper lijes drinking outside,I have a roasting tin,that I fill up with water.i have water inside but ignore it,rarely does she drink from it.

I read somewhere that cats really like rain water, not sure if its true but I always mean to try and collect it when it rains but keep forgetting

our 5 week old kitten doesn't appear to have any interest in eating food - he's still nursing. I think mum is trying to lead him to food but he's having none of it

at what point do i worry that he's not eating yet?

is he on kitten food now? it maybe a well known thingy with kittens,I haven’t clue Laury,I’m sure our lovely puddie lovers can help.

I love Cleo but her constant crying is sending me over the edge. Its like she's always hungry but she gets plenty of food and I dont want to make her fat. Shes a very vocal cat but she cries when im eating my dinner or talking to my boyfriend. She stands in the kitchen and screams. Does anyone have any advice? I just dont know what's for the best.

Do you feed her after you or vice versa? Maybe change that? That said, my parents cats are exactly the same, nothing they do makes a difference

He was a boy, darling Dolly! It's ok, when I was in the MC club on Facebook he always got called a pretty lady and everyone thought Susan was a male. I mean, she's called Susan? A bit like that Johnny Cash song 'A Boy Named Sue.'

He's been adopted! Pending the home check he'll be in his new forever home come the weekend. What a wonderful start to the new year.

What a stunning littl3

The baddest of our cats is a mighty hunter, and just brought in a bird, which we removed. He’s now roaming round the house, shouting his little furry head off. The bastard. He looks like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth but he’s the most prolific hunter I’ve ever been owned by.

What a stunning face, was the bird alive?

Does she go outside? If not maybe consider getting a little grass plant, apparently chewing on it helps with fur balls. Mine both love eating the grass outside my flat and have never had any issues (touch wood)

No I don’t but neighbours do,she’s s weird,weird gal always has been.I’ve bough grass plants Nope don’t touch em.

Mine is not long haired but is really struggling with fur balls alongside her IBD stuff. We have been given Katalax before to help, errr, move everything along in her system. Whilst we were progressing towards an lBD diagnosis we thought the problem was only furballs and the vet gave us lactulose to give her. No ill effects at the rear end (one time we were giving her Katalax we did have a very unpleasant liquid poop situation that none of us want to happen again!) but didn’t ‘cure’ the problem because the problem doesn’t really seem to be fur, it’s a flare up of her bowels, intestines instead.

I get these for mine, it's good for both dental care plus fur balls. I chop them up so they last longer. I have a long haired cat & a short haired (with few bald patches) cat. Both love these.

Also those "purina dentalife" treats from Tesco are supposed to be great for teeth too & my cats love them too.

My previous cat also loved both of these & she had super healthy teeth all her life. After I found the green grass treats, it did seem to settle the occasional fur ball issue.

When In was younger, we had 2 cats & my father had a big fish tank in the sitting room. One day he was cleaning the fish tank. I'm not totally sure how, but our big (he was choncky) orange cat (sisters cat) fell into the fish tank!!!!! He was ok, although he did get everywhere soaking wet, as was he of course I think the fish were ok.

Another time, my cat, a calico, was looking into the pond in our garden which had fish in it. Both loved to do that & they just watched, no fish harmed. But somehow she just slipped and fell into the pond! Again she was fine & got out herself, just soaking wet and embarrassed. It was funny timing bc both me and my sister were watching her from the kitchen when it happened I wonder if that happened more while we weren't looking.

...sadly I had to say goodbye to my wee Evie cat last month...take comfort that she had a great life and was a spoiled princess ...but...these two came up and I couldn't resist...have named them Jules and Remy...will be interesting having boys for a change!

So sorry about Evie, it's one of life's most difficult moments to say goodbye to a much-loved pet.
Wishing you many happy times with these two handsome devils

She gets really cranky if Thor tries to sit in one. Haha

I presume she has a favourite bag. My little (fat) girl has a favourite chair from the kitchen table (they're literally all the same plastic chairs) and gets aggressive should anyone use one by accident

Is this one of those feathery type things on a stick to play with? My little girl had one of these she loved, carried around and slept with it. It got totally ruined so I got another one which has never been used and she looked at me almost in disgust when I gave her it

My Vet told me that for stressful situations like people coming over for whatever reason, or travel, or vet trips, times when there's loud noise outside...etc gabapentine is great to calm them. We used it on Boss #1 for her 1st vet trip with us and it def chilled her out. Then we used it again a few times when we thought there would be a lot going on and again it worked great on both of them!
Probably not suitable for every time you vacuum though.
It's best mixed with some strong tasting food like tuna. I tried it with those creamy licky lix treats and the 1st time she ate it all, then 2nd time she tried it and wouldn't eat any of it, she totally knew what was going on! But then we tried tuna and that works perfect each time so far.
