Today's "You've just got to love 'em haven't you?" was him acting unilaterally because he didn't want to wait until I'd finished my dinner before giving Jimmy his dinner.

I was midway through my dinner when, from the kitchen, came the joyful sounds of cat vs kitchen worktop and utensils clattering to the floor.

Who cares when there's scraps of cooked ham to be had? Not Jimmy that's for sure.

Yes, I did pause my dinner until he got his.

My cat read this topic and has dictated the following:

"Now, I love Wooh more than I ever knew was possible, and she is a great person because she understands that when I chomp on her foot that is me saying "yeah!" and also she helps me retract my claws when stuck on a chair or whatever, because I didn't have a mother to teach me, and I can tell you for free, I would not let anyone else in the whole world do that. BRB, heard a packet rustling. OK, it wasn't food but I'll be ready when it is. ANYWAY and HOWEVER: don't be thinking Wooh is some angel or anything. No.

She ADDS WATER to my wet food about four times a week. Thinks I don't notice! The arrogance of her! Lots of it, too. She's always going on about "good hydration is healthy maturation, Dill." URGH, she's annoying. Might chomp her foot later but not for "love." Hahaaaaaa. Bye!"

We have moved Peach’s food bowls to put up the Christmas tree. She is NOT happy despite knowing where they are and being able to eat from them non stop shouting at us, she’s making sure we know we’ve effed up

Peach definitely favours my fiance and yearns for the chance to lay on his legs when he’s on the sofa. Sleeps right up in his bum too whilst he sleeps, like he’s just given birth to her she does the same with me but only when dad’s out the house, despite me being the one to feed her, keep her eye clean when it’s weepy, change her poop box most of the time (dad does usually end up doing that too) and prepping her little snack mats each morning

For Jimmy's first Christmas with me, I went all "First Time (Cat) Dad"* and spent a small fortune on cat toys.

He refuses to play with the battery-operated ones as they won't let him win all the time.

The rest, I still have a load in storage, and he has enough toys to be getting on with, so I won't be getting him any more.

I don't mind Christmas but I am working for most of it this year as the others on my team all have plans and I don't so why be a prick about it.


* Even though he's Cat #4.

My louie was only 9 when he died, that was a year and a half ago now. I got cleo 4 months later, I struggled without a cat being around and she's actually been amazing company and healed my heart.

You'd be surprised how often I declare I will live in a penthouse NO PETS ALLOWED and I CAN'T WAIT, while I caress their face/neck/paws etc

I love Cleo but her constant crying is sending me over the edge. Its like she's always hungry but she gets plenty of food and I dont want to make her fat. Shes a very vocal cat but she cries when im eating my dinner or talking to my boyfriend. She stands in the kitchen and screams. Does anyone have any advice? I just dont know what's for the best.

I feel your pain, Merry is very vocal. She's worse if there's a full moon weirdly but even so she's a proper shouter and attention seeker. We've just had to embrace it and 'talk' back to her and that seems to calm her a little x.

No experience with thia tbh if I were you just in case I'd go and introduce myself to the neighbours and explain the situation, give them your contact info etc in case it does happen. I'm sure it's not likely but better to be safe!

My beloved soul cat Felix died yesterday and I am absolutely heartbroken. He was 15 years old, his health had been slowly declining over the last 2 years but in the last 3 months he had lost most of his vision due to high blood pressure. Although he coped so well with it, I could just tell that his quality of life was getting worse. I spoke to the vet about it but they said he was medically well (he had high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis). I told them I was worried about his quality of life but was palmed off.

Two days ago he started to become unwell, had diarrhoea and was not using his litter tray (never been an issue) and had gone off his food. I took him to the vet yesterday and his bloods were all off so the options were to stay overnight for fluids, potassium and glucose or put him to sleep. I had to make the decision there and then because he was too unwell to even go home overnight. I just knew he was tired and ready to go so I made the decision to put him to sleep. It all happened to fast and he looked so, so peaceful, just like he was sleeping. I stayed with him for 40 minutes after holding him and telling him that I loved him. He was purring right until the end and just lay on the blanket like he knew it was time.

I know it was the right decision but it’s just so hard. I keep thinking I can hear him tip tapping across the floor or hear him jumping off the bed. I wish I could just see him one last time.

RIP to my beautiful Felix. Mum loves you so, so much and I hope you know I tried my best to give you a good life

This reminds me of a rescue dog we adopted 40 years ago, we had no experience of dog ownership and not yet having kids she was our baby and was ultra cossetted. One Saturday, playing fetch with me in the garden, she twisted her back her screams were awful so off to the out of hours vet we went. She was given a analgesic/steroid injection and was sent home where she was treated like precious China. She was still limping and whining and not right for days so back to the vet we went where he gently told us she was having us on and there was nothing wrong. Oh the shame as we shuffled out back to the car whilst madam trotted beside us, limp free and smug!

We have also been child free to this point, but there is a baby due this month and we are fully expecting the behaviour to worsen significantly so far, zero interest has been shown in any of the baby items (Moses basket, crib, pram, bouncer, etc). I think my best hope is that she gives the baby a wide berth. MrDragName is her favourite human anyway, it would be expected that I, the spare human, would pull some stupid stunt like bringing a baby into the house

Should I be worried that when and only when cleo is kneading me and purring intensely she starts having a wet nose. It's always clear but this morning she sneezed on my face. She doesn't sneeze any other time.

Nala dribbles when she kneads me and then shakes her head so I get sprayed!
