Cleo can happily sit and cry all day. She has different cries for different things. When she's tired it's a low deep one and then she can go very high pitched. Even if she's sick she screams so I know what's happening! She's very chatty. Definitely for the attention 🤣

Hi folks, was looking for a bit of advice. My cat is a senior citizen (mid-late teens allegedly, although she was a rescue and we can’t be sure. She seems young acting for her age but who knows) and has been diagnosed with probable IBD. We've been advised to switch her to a hypoallergenic diet. It looks expensive! Which is ok because she is our best girl in the world, but anytime we’ve bought her anything decent quality or specifically designed to help something (dental biscuits, anti furball biscuits, posh soft food before she had a big teeth cleaning once) she’s hated it. So I feel like this is going to be a very expensive game of trial and error. Her current food (Sheba, Whiskas, Felix et al) we can donate to cat shelters no bother.

Anyway, lots of rambling, can anyone recommend wet and dry food that’s hypoallergenic and potentially also designed for senior citizens, if that’s necessary? Bonus points if I can buy a small amount to try her on. Although of course she will LOVE the first few servings then we’ll remortgage our house to get her bulk supplies and at that point she will turn her nose up at it!

I share a lot of my cat on the internet so I feel like a picture of her would out me, haha. I wish my cat was an influencer who made me money, then she could have her own thread for all I cared 🤣

Jimmy is having a shouting match with Storm Amy.

I've already had to rescue him when he was outwitted by a puddle in the yard.

I was roundly cursed for carrying him to safety.

Took my then cat to be neutered & got a call from the vets a few hours later asking me to come & collect him immediately, as he was wide awake & upsetting a poorly cat in the next pen!

Got him home with instructions to keep him indoors & quiet for the rest of the day, but Otis had other ideas! He shot through the cat flap, dashed up the garden & climbed a tree!

He was a bit of a cat though!

I don't normally post here but read and like photos of your beautiful cats.

I noticed the chat about giving pills to your cats.

We inherited my Mum's cat and a week after she passed we got confirmation that her cat had small cell GI lymphoma.

She is on one and a half steroid tablet daily and one chemo tablet every second day.

At the start it was a large towel around her neck to be protected from the claws (although someone used to put the opening and the front and I would get caught sometimes) and then a fight to get the tablets in the mouth.

Then I came across the pill popper on the internet and now it only takes a couple of minutes to give her the meds.

Don't even need the towel now.

Still have the problem of trying to catch her.

I got my cats some new lick-e-lix to try, one strawberry and one vanilla flavour 😮 one cat ate it, the other one sniffed it and you should've seen how he looked at me 🤣 he was not happy. Had to give him a better flavour to make amends.

I entered both my cats into the Nose Of Tralee competition, I'm so excited to see what happens! 👑

Also Boss#1 let me pet & brush her 2x yday & the 2nd time she was on the ottoman when I went to her. I was expecting her to run like she usually does but she didn't! She stayed still, bit tense but then when I was petting her she was so relaxed and rolling over! It was so sweet & an improvement. Then today it went well too. I was brushing her & Boss#2 came and interrupted so Boss#1 left but I followed her & she didn't dart away, she let me give her few extra brushes 🙀

Oh & I think she like Lana Del Ray songs!!!!! I will need to start playing them for her cos the few time already she seems to recognize them 😺

Someone at work has just laid into me for having an "indoor only" cat, saying it's inhumane and would you like to spend all day in the house etc.

Not being funny, but Peach has zero interest in going outside. The closest she gets to outside is looking out the door from the comfort of the top of the staircase. She has never tried to get out, or even gotten close to the open front door when we bring in the food shop etc. I'm sure if she wanted to go outside, if she had any inkling of even thinking about setting foot outside, she would have tried by now :ROFLMAO: If she showed any interest in going outdoors, we would consider letting her. But she doesn't! Silly people.

I was attempting to get Jimmy's fur into some sort of a decent state earlier.

He hates me combing it so, at the first bit of resistance to the comb, he took a swipe at me.

So, I held his front paws and went for another attempt.

Little fecker bit me.

So stunning, I always wonder if cats understand death or if they just thjnk their friend has run away? They're so perceptive I think they must understand it ❤
I think they'd know somehow. I just know they must miss him as much as we do. He was always cuddling someone, it's hard not to miss the one who had the snugs on tap.

Should I be worried that when and only when cleo is kneading me and purring intensely she starts having a wet nose. It's always clear but this morning she sneezed on my face. She doesn't sneeze any other time.

Just finished putting my Christmas lights up with only a slight amount of "assistance" from Jimmy.

Seems he prefers the strings of lights to be tangled rather than untangled.

He took it with good grace though, and only sat in the middle of one set of lights and batted them about with his paws.

How vocal are everyone's cats? Cleo is an absolute screamer. I reckon she was a town crier in her last life. Hungry? Cries. Litter tray needs done? Cries. It's never ending 🤣
Well one of mine can't really meow so he just waves his paws and goes brrr. The other one meows a lot! It all balances itself out i guess 🤣
