I think she mentions in the podcast that they moved out of Raqqa while she was pregnant because the husband realised that it was going to fall and didn’t want to stay there. So much for loyalty to ISIS. It would suggest to me that they probably didn’t have endless food to access at that point though
I also love that no one asks him why he didn’t feed the children while he seems to be implying blame on Shamima.

Looks like incarceration doesn’t agree with him he’s aged about 20yrs since his last interview.
From what I understood he didn't go back to fighting. He was injured and arrested at some point after the marriage
He was imprisoned because they thought he was a spy he then became a fighter, his story has a lot of holes and contradictions as does hers.

I'm not sure what the holes in his story are given that the majority of articles about him are just linked to Shamima. Going from being labelled a spy to being a fighter doesn't seem like a massive hole as it's probably expected of him to do that

Who was the father of the children if he was imprisoned shortly after the marriage? He said he fought one battle for ISIS and only lived a normal life as a welder as it wasn’t how he imagined IS to be.

It does say 10 days into their marriage, plenty of time to have sex. He was also obviously released some time after? They then moved out of a shared house into their own place, Shamima got pregnant and at some point during that pregnancy they moved cities

She arrives to Syria after being smuggled, gets put in a house and told she has to get married, within 10 days (according to some article) she’s married to a man she barely knows who’s 23(?), has her first sexual experience with him, he gets arrested after 10 days and she’s left to live with a man who seems to have had a bad reputation and his wife, at some point she has a miscarriage and has to be explained by the woman about what is happening to her

That’s what I meant he was still around her while being an ISIS fighter, she said her older two children were still being fed there was food shortages but they managed, her son died around 8 month’s old and her daughter was around 18 months ,she doesn’t know what happened to them they just went to sleep one night and never woke up .

That’s another thing she doesn’t mention about being smuggled only that she was radicalised online and ISIS lied to her about being framed by the media over bombings, they made her feel guilty for wanting to stay with her family.
From my understanding they only got married because he was injured. If he hadn’t been injured, he would have got married once he returned - by which time Shamima would likely have been married to someone else
Not that it really matters whether she was or was not married to an ISIS fighter imo, she lived under ISIS so there’s a good chance that she would have met plenty of evil people and those with strong ideologies - though it doesn’t sound like he’s very loyal either, just subscribed to misogyny

She was living with an Egyptian arms dealer or something when her husband was on prison accused of being a spy. She doesn't seem to know much about him and a lot of people seem to doubt that, like she must have questioned him or seen what he was up to.
She was 15 and had been in Syria a month and she's suddenly left alone with this random man that she would have to cover her face around. I doubt she did much except exactly what she was told.

It doesn’t seem to be certain whether Shamima knew she would have to get married more or less straight away. All the new arriving single women were put in a special house (even has a specific name) which they would only be able to leave once they got married. I personally have some doubts that the ISIS propaganda videos would mention that but who knows
She was smuggled across the border by a Canadian asset. She does talk about that in the documentary, waiting in the bus station and then getting driven over the border. "Smuggled" doesn't mean she didn't go voluntarily, just that a people smuggler was involved.

I think to a teenage girl the thought of being able to get married and play house is probably quite appealing. Young girls can be incredibly naive.
I can see the whole thing about the husband being older also potentially being appealing. Though there’s a huge difference between “fantasy” and real life, especially when it comes to intimacy

Absolutely. It sounds grown up and exciting until you're alone with a man 8 years older than you who expects you to respect and obey him and who no doubt has a lot more experience than you. She probably realised pretty quickly that the only way to survive was to stay with him.
Kadiza and Amira both seem to have been killed after their husbands had already died.
I know they have women running the morality police but I really don't think women would be given opportunities to do much more even if they wanted to. To isis women are at best breeders who are there to serve men. At worst, they are slaves (yazidi). I just can't see them allowing women to play more of a prominent role than that.
