I thought she was not so much 'lying' to cultivate an image but more lying to herself. Peaches seemed the same. It was all 'baby wearing earth mother' but she was a drug addict so pretending to be a great mother was her way of justifying her addiction to herself and prove she could still be a good mother despite being a drug addict. However now she is no mother at all so it was all in vain.That's awful. I do think that the 'earth mother' thing was a huge lie she was trying to cultivate decades before the 'influencer' generation. And it's obvious the nanny was the one doing the heavy lifting when it came to those girls. Fifi has been pretty scathing about Paula and has more or less admitted they weren't close. I think Paula was utterly obsessed with men and making herself as sexually available as possible.

Then, Jemima married Imran Khan (ex-cricketer and now prime minister of Pakistan) I recall that she had 2 sons with him. Do they live with Jemina or Imran? I have no idea how she managed to evade social services because her midwives will have known about her drug problem. I think that Peaches told everyone that she wasn’t taking heroin, but was on a methadone program at a clinic in Maidstone, near to her house. Allegedly, that was the main reason that she overdosed, because she was either doing both heroin and methadone, or, that her tolerance to heroin had been diminished because she had been only taking methadone, therefore causing the overdose as her body wasn’t used to the doses that she had previously used.Yes you're absolutely right. This. How do very high profile drug addicts keep their kids no questions asked. It blows my mindIt is shocking how any of them got away with it. I got my copy of Pearl Lowes book ( because of this thread) and she was also completely addicted to heroin yet had 3 children living with her. Maybe if they'd been taken away they would have woken up. Another interesting thing she said was that she was teetotal. She just took drugs. Paula's friends all say the same thing- that she didnt even drink so how could she be a drug addict. But maybe she was the same? It does seem strange that she lived in the rock and roll world for so long and was clean but a couple of years with Hutchence and she was hiding drugs in smartie tubes.
