this thread was a good read on Britney / Lindsay Lohan / Paris Hilton. I miss the 2000s for how chaotic celebs were. Just doesn't happen now.

Jesus Christ, back when celebrity gossip was good and Kim Kardashian was nothing more than a random minor player in the background, subservient to Paris Hilton. I forgot Brandon Davies even existed until seeing that thread. He was always so sweaty and slimy.
I always remember how Kim Stewart was desperate to be a Paris wannabe, I’m sure that during the 4th season of The Simple Life, the season which was filmed separately because Nicole and Paris weren’t speaking to each other, that Paris wanted Kim to replace Nicole.
Oh my god, that’s taken me way back to simpler times Being a student living in halls and so low on funds but pooling my money together with friends every Tuesday to donate to wine and other alcohol and to buy that week edition of Heat, The National Enquirer, Closer, and sometimes More magazine and we would all discuss the articles like we were in a high fashioned book club

For someone who hid it for so long, it seems that as soon as his mother had gone he just came rampaging out of that closet. I know he was troubled in later years and kept getting into trouble but then he could always laugh at himself as well.

He even did that episode of Extras in which he played ... himself cruising the heath for a bit of rough
Also I remember one occasion where one of the alleged men sold his story to the press and George was quoted saying something like 'I know I'm promiscuous but I'm not blind'

The video to “lets go outside” with him dressed as an American cop in a male public toilet was just iconic.

Someone said the same thing (about not coming out until his mother passed) about Simon Cowell staying in the closet and not going public with his relationship with his boyfriend, the hypnotist Paul McKenna

I absolutely love the pair of them and think they're a great couple and am so happy for them with the baby news, however and I can't lie I had to laugh at this comment on the DM, it's just so bloody extreme and nasty (and FWIW I don't agree)

I burst out laughing at that. It’s unnecessarily bitchy and you just know when someone says “I’m not being rude, but” that the ‘but’ will be a HUGE caveat

Just watching this week's Drag Race, and given all the Sherry Pie stuff I wondered if there was any other DR/DRUK tea?

Whatever the turn of events, he's been milking the break-up with Britney to help his career ever since. First with the Cry Me a River video and then mentioning Britney in interviews whenever he's anything to plug regularly for the past 20 years. And he let Janet Jackson take all the flack for the Super Bowl nipple incident when he knew it was in the show too. He's a knob.

Even me, as dumb as I was at the time, and not knowing the way media worked, even I raised an eyebrow and was like “is this actually real”?

Really not enjoying watching this season because it's so tainted anytime Sherrys on the screen. Real shame as there's so many other great queen's to focus on there

You should listen to Race Chaser podcast with Willam and Alaska. They have good gossip. They reviewed every episode so far and were partway through series 4 but have paused to do season 12 week by week. They have guests on from the show as well.

Also the Rupaul's Drag Race subreddit is pretty great.

Don’t want to get sued but there was a thread on Mumsnet years ago about GR. Lots of stories that he liked trans women and it was well known he had had various affairs with them over the years. It’s one of the reasons he’s not on UK TV screens cooking anymore and concentrated on the US instead. The press were told to back off this story and he instead gave them access to the court info about his father in law defrauding him to keep them sweet at Tana was suffering enough

I also remember a rumour once that when he was furious with staff in his kitchen, he made them drop to their knees and chomp on his happy hat. Usually males allegedly

I had a feeling that’s what it meant but GR and happy rarely belong in the same sentence together Loving the GR gossip, find it hilarious for some reason. Possibly because I’ve seen practically every master chef USA episode and I just can’t imagine him being into that kind of thing.

Slight tangent, and of course you can't generalise about humans and sexuality, but sometimes it really is the hyper-macho ones you least expect who are up to all sorts.

My mum was with a total prick of a guy for decades when me and my siblings were growing up (me and my sister weren't his children, which made life worse), a drunk, a bigot, sexist, selfish, violent - all things you wouldn't want in a partner. He particularly hated gays - that stereotypical macho knuckle-dragging knob everyone has encountered at one point in their lives. He even used to perv over page three in front of us girls and he'd watch porn in the middle of the night, not caring who heard.

Fast forward years later and their relationship was breaking down (alcoholism had finally taken over his life and he was nearly always drunk or sobering up but the ill-temper and violence went up a few notches).

Mum wondered why he had so many mobile phones. One of them, apparently, had explicit messages to a few men on a gay chat SMS service and when mum told me I.COULD.NOT.BELIEVE.IT!! I still can't!!!

(This was about ten years ago - she got a restraining order and is safe and happy, but I won't bore you with any further details). As for him, let's just say karma finally got him (still alive but not in a happy place).

You know after sitting through hours and hours of USA master chef (thanks to partner who is obsessed), I did start wondering why he’s so shouty. I’ve never really been around chefs but is his level of shoutyness normal or does he take it to extremes? Feels like bullying sometimes. It’s weird because outside of the kitchen he seems... ‘nice’.

No celeb goss of my own, but boredom got me stuck down a rabbit hole watching a YouTube vid all about 1Ds Zayn & Harry, saying they were an item until Gigi Hadid came along and Zayn broke Harry’s heart. The vid was pretty compelling, does anyone know if this is true? I’ve always though Harry to be a gentle soul, so sad if it is true.
