I met Amanda Holden once, and for some reason she thought she knew me from somewhere. We are a similar age although I have had a lot less embalming procedures. Anyway, we were at a Manchester hotel, a few years ago, with some friends, and Amanda came waltzing over and said "Hello YOU!" because she obviously thought she couldn't remember my name, not because she had never clapped on eyes on me before. Then she asked how my girls were doing at school, asked me if I wanted to join her and her friends for some soup (never worked out if that was celebrity code for something dodgy :ROFLMAO: ) and then went back to wherever she was sitting. My friends were like o_Oo_Oo_O how do you know her???? Me: I don't. So somewhere Amanda has a kind of friend that she doesn't know very well but is polite enough to acknowledge if she sees her out and about but Amanda babes? It isn't me.

Hello. Newbie here. Loving it. This is my first post.

Due to my work in media, I’ve met tons of famous people and been surprised both in a good way and bad way.

Here’s some I recall:

Finley Quaye
Nice as pie in the interview, but an absolute tool when the camera stopped rolling. He believed he was much bigger and talented than he actually was. He was demanding, rude, arrogant and full of himself. He kept disappearing off stage mid show to ‘go to the toilet’, leaving the session musicians still playing onstage looking bemused. He also smoked a joint onstage, soooo rock and roll! Punters walked out the gig and some demanded refunds.

Scouting for Girls
An interviewer’s dream. They were funny, charming, chatty, really lovely and down to earth. Even offered me gin from their rider!

The Wurzels
Interviewed them year before last, they were adorable, very cheeky, offered us food and drink from their rider (we politely declined) and they even randomly made a joke onstage that my boyfriend had proposed to me! No idea why, but our mates fell for it too!

Stereophonics
I interviewed them before they were big, Stuart the drummer (RIP) was a total sweetheart, but Kelly the lead singer, completely up his own backside and very arrogant, rude and acted like he was above us.

Jim Davidson
I appeared on Big Break, aged 19. In the bumph from the production team, there was a stipulation that female contestants MUST wear a dress or skirt! When Jim came to sit by me for the intros he made comments about my “nice legs”, then looked me up and down and turned around to the other female contestant and male contestant and said “She’s won, not you!” pointing at me. He then slid off his chair in a ‘comedy’ fashion and you see my crossing my legs so he didn’t see up my skirt from the floor, this was all aired.

After the show (which I did win BTW!) we were all in the green room for a buffet, drinks and to mingle with everyone, Jim and John Virgo included. John was a total diamond, incredibly sweet and down to earth, a really lovely man.

I couldn’t stay, as I had to be at a gig in Camden and the BBC had put on a car for me to get there, so I went up to Jim for a photo before I left and he said he was really tired after filming all day and if I wanted a photo, I would have to sit on his lap, as he wasn’t getting up. So I somewhere have a pic of me gingerly perched on his knee, looking slightly worried!

Howard Marks
Really warm, engaging. Intelligent and funny. The second time I met him, he remembered me too. His wife was utterly charming and the opposite of who'd you'd expect to be his wife. Quite conservative, but lovely.

Chas and Dave
Consummate professionals, talented, charming, funny and gracious. Great story tellers. Humble and talented. Loved them.

Chris Moyles
I worked with him before he was famous and he was so arrogant and full of himself back then, acted like God’s gift around women. I am talking 27 years ago too! Put me right off him after that.

Manic Street Preachers
I have met all of the Manics a few times, Including Richey, he was so sweet, softly spoken and had time for all the fans. Nicky has seemed aloof on the occasions I have met him, but not unpleasant, just wasn’t that interested in chatting to people.

Sean is really sweet and chatty and James I’ve sat up drinking with him and the Super Furry Animals and tour crew on a Manics tour and that particular night he seemed agitated and was being quite short with people, sort of like he was there socialising in body but really not in the mood in mind. I was gutted as he was my hero, however, I have met him other times and he seemed very sweet, so must have been a bad day!

Johnny Borrrell (Razorlight)
I was interviewing bands at a festival and was told Razorlight weren’t doing press. So as I had just done my last interview, I hit the bar to play catch up with my friends. However, I hit the bar too hard and got VERY drunk during Razorlight’s headline set.

Just as the set was ending. My phone rang, it was a PR person for the band, saying Johnny would give me a 5 minute interview. I was so drunk, I could barely stand, let alone speak, I was slurring, kept repeating myself and the questions, Johnny looked bemused, but was very patient and didn’t react, bless him.

I can’t bring myself to ever listen to the interview, it’s cringe worthy, I edited down so that you only hear me slur one question, then Johnny talks for four minutes! Hahaha!

Chris Jericho (Wrestler and lead singer of Fozzy)
Pleasant enough, but a tinge of arrogance and talking about his band like they were the bloody Rolling Stones.

Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders etc.)
Charming, softly spoken and friendly.

Dick and Dom
So funny, really nice and chatty, vile PR person though.

Oh and my friend worked for Katie Price years ago and said she had absolutely zero redeeming features in her personality. She was demanding, rude, arrogant, didn’t have the words please and thank you in her vocabulary.

I have loads more. But didn't want to bore you with an essay.

Anyone got Robert Peston goss? There’s a race for the remote in this house when he comes on the telly.

I’d rather watch 5 hours of Piers Morgan than 5 minutes of Peston.
I know this is likely to get me banished from here forever but (whispers) I don’t actually mind Piers Morgan 😬 👀

This is not my gossip, but I've just read this in the comments of this DM story - Paul McCartney's handwritten lyrics for Hey Jude sell for £730,000 as collectors get caught up in bidding war

MrsSHCZ, Virginia Water, United Kingdom, 7 hours ago
Years ago I went to a auction of Beatles memorabilia at Southebys. One of the items sold was the piano that John Lennon write 'Imagine' on. There was a huge bidding war and eventually the bidder on the phone won - can't remember how much it was but certainly the upper six figures, maybe 300,000 or more. Anyway the winner donated it the the City of Liverpool where's it's now on permanent display. It was only a couple of years ago that they revealed who the winner bidder and donar was - George Michael.

Nice one, George (y)

I absolutely can't stand Amanda Holden. Her husband is also one of those men that look like they've just started to transition. Like Keith Urban and Brian Cox.

Just thought, maybe she's his beard??

Any thoughts on Sam Smith?

I couldn't believe it when they posted a video of themselves crying at home due to lockdown. How out of touch can a person get! Sam Smith has come across as extremely needy and whiny to me for some time now as it is.
I hate Sam Smith. Always have. He seems annoying, pompous and fake.

I’ve never ever understood the Buble love. He’s like an average rat pack tribute act that you’d see preforming in a hotel in Benidorm.

The thing is we are judging Dubai and UAE too harshly, that stuff goes on in the UK, but the girls don't get paid as much, remember the Debbie Mcgee and dog story.

As for the porta potty stuff, just look (or don't as its disgusting), at all the scat stuff on the net. I know it seems like easy money, but still, just thinking about it makes me feel sick. It makes me think, there must be gay men there so do they get guys doing the potty stuff, and wanking/sucking off various animals.

Slightly off topic, but I can say wanking/sucking and it's not blanked out, I type re ta rded, and thats blanked out. WHY
Because that word is used to describe disabled people as well as people with special needs. It’s a slur.

One of them ( don’t know which) was definitely sporting a syrup on his head!
It's Matt the twin with the syrup, albeit quite an expensive real hair looking one. His brother Luke has their true receding hairline and he shaves it all off.
Matt also was very Botoxed and immaculately maintained; nails, eyebrows and even foundation make up.
Imagine going to all that effort and expense only to have an identical twin that shows the world what you'd really look like without it all!

Hardly a surprise considering where he lived but George was no stranger to the Heath. Apparently his "thing" was men who looked like archetypal lorry drivers...
For someone who hid it for so long, it seems that as soon as his mother had gone he just came rampaging out of that closet. I know he was troubled in later years and kept getting into trouble but then he could always laugh at himself as well.

He even did that episode of Extras in which he played ... himself cruising the heath for a bit of rough :ROFLMAO:
Also I remember one occasion where one of the alleged men sold his story to the press and George was quoted saying something like 'I know I'm promiscuous but I'm not blind' 😂

(Miss you George ❤💔 )

It was definitely true. Friends s-i-l works in telly and it was an open secret.
Urgh. Im not condoning him, but I think she's foul. Basically shagged her way to the top by marrying Les Dennis and then tossed him a side when she got her wish of becoming famous. I wonder if she'd have had any kind of career if she'd never met him?

A girl I know used to work with Calvin Harris in safeway (now Morrisons). He quit his job to pursue his music career and everyone laughed, thought he was stupid and that he'd be back working in the supermarket soon enough. Of course he became mega famous but he still keeps in touch with his old friends and when he's back in Scotland he apparently has big parties for them.

anyone got any gossip on british comedians?
‘Lovable’ professional Scouser John Bishop is an absolute fiend for getting head, & expects his support team while on tour to step up and offer a helping mouth if there aren’t any starstruck locals available to do the honours.

(Source is friend-of-friend who was working as whatever the comedian equivalent of roadie is on one such UK tour a few years back)

Whatever the turn of events, he's been milking the break-up with Britney to help his career ever since. First with the Cry Me a River video and then mentioning Britney in interviews whenever he's anything to plug regularly for the past 20 years. And he let Janet Jackson take all the flack for the Super Bowl nipple incident when he knew it was in the show too. He's a knob.
He's not even good looking. I've never seen the attraction of Justin Timberlake

On Cristiano Ronaldo and Tom Ford r*ping women and just "being fake camp"...
I don't believe that. By which I mean: I don't believe they are deliberately camp, no one could possibly put on such a fake persona and especially not a football player, where being gay is still to this day a massive taboo. Footballers just are not gay! (yeah, right.... But you know what I mean).
CR comes across as very gay even in the pap shots of him on his yacht, those grainy shots which sure as heck weren't paid for by him, but are actual pap shots.

They are either bi, leaning more towards men (sorry, but no one that effeminate can possibly lean more towards women!) or they are confused or not accepting of themselves and go after women to prove something to themselves, like "I'm not gay/ I'm not *that* gay" or "I can have women, too, any I want" or just as power play (which r*pe is anyway) and maybe if they are those type of gays who hate women that much, to do damage to women in that way.

These things for these reasons do happen, so I can see CR and TF being that way (considering the allegations by women made).

But no way can I ever see them or believe them to be straight, if bi then heavily in favour of men for sex.

And what man r*pes a woman and goes for the butt? No straight dude, like come on!
Honestly, of all the r*pes I've heard of, not yet have I heard the man went for the woman's bum!

There are some men who are a bit camp and in the public eye, who make fun of this themselves, but these slightly camp men have never struck me as gay.
To go with a fictional character, Chandler Bing is a bit camp but never strikes me as gay (and by now everyone knows Ms Chanandler Bong was for a while supposed to be a gay character, to come out around season 3 or so).

Sorry for the long winded post, hope I didn't bore any of you who bothered to read!😁🙈
I strongly disagree with this remark: "And what man r*pes a woman and goes for the butt?" I have worked with rape survivors and certainly it's very common that women are raped both anally and vaginally.

I don't know how much the sexuality of the rapist is a factor, I don't have information on that; but I would say that just because he is attacking someone with his penis doesn't make it about sex. If he smacked them with a frying pan you wouldn't call it cooking - it's about violence and power and control.
