Tributes have been pouring in for the late Anne Kirkbride, best known for playing Deirdre Barlow on Coronation Street. One of the reasons for Anne's huge popularity on the Corrie set? She could always be relied upon to provide the cast with a decent bifta.
ETA: Years ago, and I can't remember where I found this - likely also on Popbitch, but does anyone remember a Wordpress page by an Irish (ex journo?) called Drybaby (apparently so-called because he was an alcoholic at some point). I used to read it pretty regularly because I just couldn't believe some of the crazy tit this guy posted.
The obsessive, hate-filled, even sexually violent (I'm not kidding) articles he posted about Wendy were genuinely chilling and sinister to read. The account doesn't exist any more but I thought the guy seemed genuinely quite unwell at best, dangerous at worst. Maybe she knocked him back at some point...or there was a more serious grudge going on....he seemed to delight in the fact her star had faded and she had aged (haven't we all?).
