Has anyone use the Ginger shampoo with coloured hair?
Ive just had my hair done at eye watering expense and she’s told me under no circumstance to use head and shoulders or vosene. I explained my issue but she just said ‘try a salon range like redken or something you can’t buy in the supermarket’ - I don’t want to wreck the dye but can’t be spending a fortune on salon shampoos that flare me up and I then can’t use?
If you have a colour go wrong, a hairdresser will tell you to use a medicated shampoo, like Head & Shoulders or Vosene, to start striping it out. And I have received such advice!

I'm not sure if they even still make it but, back in the day when I was a Saturday girl, one of the hairdressers told me Timotei could strip fresh tint.

My daughter has scalp psoriasis and we started using the ginger shampoo made it ten times worse, now we have transferred to coal tar shampoo but I also massage this Lush Superbalm scalp treatment into her scalp first, she leaves it for an hour and then double washes her with the coal tar shampoo and it’s really cleared up the yellow crusty clumps, inflamed red sores and the itchiness!
Yes it didnt work for me either, have also used the superbalm and it didnt help. I also hate the tar shampoos. Im a lost cause lol.

I think what we can all agree on is that no size fits all with this stuff. If anyone has a recommendation for psoriasis on elbows they can send my way I’d be forever grateful - years and nothing has worked. I know I am far luckier than many sufferers but just to have a few months freedom from it would be amazing. Sunbeds are the only thing that has ever worked.

My scalp would be itchy, particularly the back part of my head, and just feel gross if that makes sense. Tried a bunch of different shampoos but what has made a difference has been using a scalp massager/shampoo brush. I think it's been helping to really get in there and clean my scalp haha. Also just feels nice on your scalp if you have a headache.

I bought the ginger body shop shampoo but ny head has been itchy all day. Does it take a while to work? Im annoyed as i had high hopes for it

So the best thing I used was yes to carrots shampoo, only conditioner I could use to my roots without it looking like a greasy mess in a few days, but I did use the Philip Kingsley scalp tonic. My new hairdresser advised it was the sulfates making my scalp greasy and asked how often I washed it and styled it. Which is weekly and she said I should buy her products and it’s not made any difference. But anytime i mention It, it’s because I’m not doing this or that, it’s mad that you do to hairdressers and pay royally for them to dictate to you. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way

Shouldn’t do, just ask them to rinse it well. Really pleased it’s getting better I know how miserable it is x
Got home last night and checked my hairline above my ear and it was red and flaky again 😫 washed my hair with the ginger shampoo and put some hydrocortisone on it and it’s cleared it up 😄 also, the ginger shampoo makes your hair really soft.

My oldest used to suffer with psoriasis on their scalp. We used to get capasal shampoo on prescription, then the doctors stopped prescribing it , so we started buying it over the counter. Not many places kept it in stock so I ended up ordering it online from some pharmacy.
