Just an update to let you all know that my scalp problems have cleared up thanks to the body shop ginger shampoo I’ve been using it about 5 weeks.

Great news. I am trying the superdrug trichology range someone suggested here atm have used it twice quite liking it so far.

They had an offer on not that long ago but their delivery is so slow! But worth it if you save a few

This is a random one for tattle but i cant find a solution and thought id ask for advice

Does anyone have a tried and tested solution for psoriasis on the scalp? I have tried literally everything over the counter and via the GP, creams, shampoos, steroid solutions, childs farm, but am still struggling with itchiness but also with white dandruffy flakes and theyre quite bad at the minute.

I use the As I Am itchy scalp shampoo and it is fine on coloured hair I think the ginger shampoo fades your colour

I’ve struggled for years with dandruff and itching, have tried head and shoulders, Tgel, ginger shampoo and ones over the counter. I’m pregnant now and was checking what I could use because the itching and flakiness was horrible but in the end I found Faith in Nature Lavender and Geranium amazing, have used it for the last 7 months and I couldn’t be happier.

So bizarre, I was thinking this morning that I need to post on here! Well, I used it a couple of time and it seemed to clear it up a little bit but then I went and bought the bodyshop’s ginger shampoo on Sunday and I’ve used it 3 times and that has really improved it. I’m having my haircut today and I forgot to bring the shampoo for him to use incase their shampoo triggers it I doubt one wash with a salon shampoo will bother it too much

Shouldn’t do, just ask them to rinse it well. Really pleased it’s getting better I know how miserable it is x

I have found E45 shampoo, didn’t know it even existed. Has changed how my head feels in 2 washes. About £5 from boots and Superdrug

I am allergic to e45 cream, didn’t know they did shampoo, will check the ingredients.

Have you tried the ginger shampoo from body shop? It really helped my husbands. I also rub coconut oil into his hair once a week and he washes it out the next day

Thought I’d update you all on something I’ve been using recently that may be worth trying re: scalp psoriasis. I have tried all the medicated/coal tar stinky stuff which was disastrous for my hair and didn’t make much difference. It is called Kerastase Specifique Bain Roche Dermo-Calm Shampoo - not cheap but a little goes a long way and it smells quite pleasant.

I was struggling majorly with this over the past 9 months since stopping my pill, itchy, massive flakes all around my hairline. Body shop Ginger shampoo sadly didn’t work for me. What has worked is an antihistamine everyday to help with the itching and nizoral medicated shampoo (bought from Amazon) I used it every 2 days for 2 weeks, now just use it once a week and it’s as if the last 9 months didn’t happen!

When I first went to the dermatologist she prescribed a cortisone ointment and another medicated shampoo (don't remember the name but it wasn't nizoral the first time around). The combination of these actually made my scalp super irritated which is when I came off the ointment and started using nizoral.

It is still working for me 4 months later, but my derm did say that your scalp kind of gets used to products after a while and that it may stop working eventually and I'll need to switch to another type of medicated shampoo for a while and just constantly be alternating. I really hope there's a way one day to just get rid of it long term without having to use medicated shampoo all the time...

My scalp was so bad, like seriously horrendous my hair was falling out along the hairline. This is the only thing that’s ever worked for me. Started using it 3 years ago and I’ve literally never had a single flake on my scalp since it’s so good.

This is a weird one, it's kind of like water you squirt on your (dry) scalp but it really helps the itching with my eczema

After years of nothing really helping, I ended up going to a dermatologist for my itchy/irritated/flaky scalp. After some trial and error, I've found the only thing that helps is Nizoral medicated shampoo. Where I live you can buy it at pharmacies off the shelf, but in other places you may have to ask for it over the counter.

Thanks very much that was actually next on my list to try as the ginger shampoo seems to be irritating my scalp more than it was even before sadly.

I tried one. It just felt like I had sand in my hair that I couldn't get out. My hair is extremely thick, though.

I've had more success with a silicone scalp brush like this one. Buffs your scalp, really gets the product in, and no residue.
