So bizarre, I was thinking this morning that I need to post on here! Well, I used it a couple of time and it seemed to clear it up a little bit but then I went and bought the bodyshop’s ginger shampoo on Sunday and I’ve used it 3 times and that has really improved it. I’m having my haircut today and I forgot to bring the shampoo for him to use incase their shampoo triggers it 😫 I doubt one wash with a salon shampoo will bother it too much 🤞🏻
Just an update to let you all know that my scalp problems have cleared up thanks to the body shop ginger shampoo 😄 I’ve been using it about 5 weeks.

I had really bad itchy flaky scalp and I used Philip Kingsley scalp tonic. It is brilliant. I've started to get small excema patches on my scalp recently and started to use the shampoo. It has honesty helped me after the first shampoo. Its expensive but so worth it.

I haven’t tried T-gel - will give anything a go at this rate even Dandrozel has stopped working for me!
I have suffered for years with what you describe. I also had very bad eczema as a child. Nizoral and betnovate scalp solution was the only thing that helped until I became pregnant and couldn’t use them. My scalp was so broken out and weeping at one side. Then a pharmacist suggested MooGoo scalp cream and shampoo and honestly my scalp has never been better. I also use the Udder cream on my face and body and my skin is so soft and clear.

I've had Polytar and Betnovate since I was a child. I get flare-ups and oh my god the mask plays hell with a patch behind my ear which only actually appeared last year but it's better there than on my whole head. The Polytar comes from the Pharmacy or Savers and the Betnovate from the GP. My husband seems to enjoy making fun of it and has involved my children, as he says they can see me scratching in the car when I'm at traffic lights. I don't think he actually knows how upsetting that is.

I have severe eczema on my scalp, sometimes it bleeds when I scratch it and other times it’s big white flakes. I’ve started using castor oil and coconut oil on my scalp as a mask. I put the coconut oil in a bowl then place that bowl in a bowl of hot water to melt it. Then I mix it with the castor oil and put it on my scalp and leave it for 30mins with a shower cap on. It’s worked amazing for me!

I have found E45 shampoo, didn’t know it even existed. Has changed how my head feels in 2 washes. About £5 from boots and Superdrug

Different things work for different people don’t they but here’s what I’ve used

The body shop ginger shampoo and conditioner - worked to start with then stopped. Made my hair feel dry after using it long term.

Tgel shampoo - didn’t work for me although it does for my friend but makes my hair feel horrid.

Prescription shampoo from the drs called dandrazol - worked but not instantly.

superdrug trichology range - didn’t work for me at all

Philip Kingsley - itchy scalp shampoo and conditioner and also scalp toner - this works for me without a doubt and I like the scalp toner. It doesn’t make my hair greasy or dry and I like how all of it makes my hair feel, it is expensive though but for me so worth it.

Thought I’d update you all on something I’ve been using recently that may be worth trying re: scalp psoriasis. I have tried all the medicated/coal tar stinky stuff which was disastrous for my hair and didn’t make much difference. It is called Kerastase Specifique Bain Roche Dermo-Calm Shampoo - not cheap but a little goes a long way and it smells quite pleasant.
Join look fantastic emails because they often do 35% kerastase! I always stock up on their stuff when they do their sales, amazing discount cos it is pricey!!!

Another vote for the ginger shampoo from body shop. My issues wouldn’t be as severe as yours sound, but if I run out of the ginger shampoo within a day or two my scalp is on fire 😖 I’ve been using it for 20+ years and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Thanks so much

Heard that the ginger shampoo from the body shop is amazing for this 😘
Thanks, it comes up on google and is one of the few i havent tried . :)

This is a weird one, it's kind of like water you squirt on your (dry) scalp but it really helps the itching with my eczema

Eucerin, Scalp Treatment Balm, 100 ml: Amazon.co.uk: Beauty
Thanks :)

After years of nothing really helping, I ended up going to a dermatologist for my itchy/irritated/flaky scalp. After some trial and error, I've found the only thing that helps is Nizoral medicated shampoo. Where I live you can buy it at pharmacies off the shelf, but in other places you may have to ask for it over the counter.

Superdrug has their own range called Trichology and it has a shampoo, conditioner and tonic and it’s really helped my daughter’s scalp. She doesn’t have psoriasis but has suffered with a very itchy, dry and very flaky scalp since she was 10 and I think puberty made it worse. The conditioner can be used on the scalp unlike other conditioners and is really soothing. The tonic is amazing too because you use it when hair is damp and just gently massage it into the scalp. My daughter says it feels so nice and soothing when her head has been a bit itchy or sore in the past, though I rarely have to use it now as the shampoo and conditioner are working so well. They’re usually 2 for £6. Really swear by the stuff!

I also use the ginger shampoo from the body shop and it’s helped massively. Maybe also try making your own scalp scrub out of coconut oil and brown sugar and massage it into your scalp, leave it 15 mins and then shampoo out. I found that really soothing

Has anyone use the Ginger shampoo with coloured hair?
Ive just had my hair done at eye watering expense and she’s told me under no circumstance to use head and shoulders or vosene. I explained my issue but she just said ‘try a salon range like redken or something you can’t buy in the supermarket’ - I don’t want to wreck the dye but can’t be spending a fortune on salon shampoos that flare me up and I then can’t use?
Yes i dont recommend using the ginger it will strip your colour.
