I think what we can all agree on is that no size fits all with this stuff. If anyone has a recommendation for psoriasis on elbows they can send my way I’d be forever grateful - years and nothing has worked. I know I am far luckier than many sufferers but just to have a few months freedom from it would be amazing. Sunbeds are the only thing that has ever worked.

Didn’t work for me, I was really hoping too as the reviews online are amazing.
They do travel sizes you could try and see if it’s worth going back but there’s also a rip off version you can get from home bargains, savers, places like that for £1 by the brand XHC - it makes your hair feel straw like and tangle when wet but in terms of the scalp it’s good.
I suffer really badly but I’ve found t-gel is the best shampoo for it. Ginger did nothing for me. I also use any sort of oil and a nit style comb to go through my hair and it pulls a lot of the chunks off of my scalp and I’ve seen massive improvements since!
I've had Polytar and Betnovate since I was a child. I get flare-ups and oh my god the mask plays hell with a patch behind my ear which only actually appeared last year but it's better there than on my whole head. The Polytar comes from the Pharmacy or Savers and the Betnovate from the GP. My husband seems to enjoy making fun of it and has involved my children, as he says they can see me scratching in the car when I'm at traffic lights. I don't think he actually knows how upsetting that is.
I was trying to get a travel size or a sample, but they just keep trying to push the £10 bottle.
Has anyone use the Ginger shampoo with coloured hair?
Ive just had my hair done at eye watering expense and she’s told me under no circumstance to use head and shoulders or vosene. I explained my issue but she just said ‘try a salon range like redken or something you can’t buy in the supermarket’ - I don’t want to wreck the dye but can’t be spending a fortune on salon shampoos that flare me up and I then can’t use?

I've used vosene and similar products with bleached hair and had no issues. I think coal tar can darken your hair slightly but tbh I've never noticed any issues.
Yes i dont recommend using the ginger it will strip your colour.
Just an update to let you all know that my scalp problems have cleared up thanks to the body shop ginger shampooSo bizarre, I was thinking this morning that I need to post on here! Well, I used it a couple of time and it seemed to clear it up a little bit but then I went and bought the bodyshop’s ginger shampoo on Sunday and I’ve used it 3 times and that has really improved it. I’m having my haircut today and I forgot to bring the shampoo for him to use incase their shampoo triggers itI doubt one wash with a salon shampoo will bother it too much

If you have a colour go wrong, a hairdresser will tell you to use a medicated shampoo, like Head & Shoulders or Vosene, to start striping it out. And I have received such advice!
I'm not sure if they even still make it but, back in the day when I was a Saturday girl, one of the hairdressers told me Timotei could strip fresh tint.

I think it’s only sold in America but look for it online: neutrgena t gel shampoo. When my scalp psoriasis was at its worst I used it for two months or so religiously, it smells kind of weird and strong but honestly use it for a while and it will really help you can’t recommend it enough. I was living in America at the time when I found it hopefully it’s online somewhere! Love from another psoriasis warrior x

I couldn’t find it when I first moved back to the uk but I haven’t needed it for years now, glad it’s around tho
So the best thing I used was yes to carrots shampoo, only conditioner I could use to my roots without it looking like a greasy mess in a few days, but I did use the Philip Kingsley scalp tonic. My new hairdresser advised it was the sulfates making my scalp greasy and asked how often I washed it and styled it. Which is weekly and she said I should buy her products and it’s not made any difference. But anytime i mention It, it’s because I’m not doing this or that, it’s mad that you do to hairdressers and pay royally for them to dictate to you. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way
I’d advise to swap hairdressers if you can. I used to have one who would always try and push their products they had in store to the point it ruined the experience. I swapped a few years ago and would never look back. She will only encourage products that work and if they don’t sell it she will tell me where to get it from.
Also, I’ve recently tried t gel shampoo and it’s been fantastic. Smells bloody awful though. I use that on my scalp then use my normal shampoo after.
