Sorry I meant his wife! Did she know he was visiting escorts, (the other post attached on)…No I don’t think Sarah would’ve known his intentions he would’ve seemed genuine with the badge, he handcuffed her before putting her in the car so she’d have had no chance to defend herself 🙁

I think my approach will literally be to request that there are more police on scene cause logically if I was genuinely being arrested they'd be happy to supply more police officers? And honestly just to kick and scream and resist arrest as much as possible so if they are legit they will phone for back up? I'm not sure that's a good plan but it's all I've got

This is so scary to me, especially reading that she was an intelligent, clever girl who was very sensible etc. Was she even breaking lockdown rules? Not that it matters - but what I mean is; if she *wasn't*, surely she would have argued her case? And was there really a time when you could be arrested even if rules were broken?

Yes I believe so, if they had a proper warrant they have more than one person. Never ever ever let one police individual not in uniform take you anywhere or take anything from you. They have to have a system record of the warrant before it’s issued so what he had their was fake

I'm heartbroken for her family. Their statements were very moving. I'm finding it quite difficult to read about what happened, it's absolutely horrific and hits very close to home. Hope the murderer rots in jail.

Speaking for myself, I honestly wouldn't have argued my case until I had a lawyer. The thought of being arrested actually terrifies me and did before this so yeah honestly, I would have been as compliant as possible for the least amount of damage. Especially if I'd not done anything wrong, I would have just thought "well I'll go to the station, ring my mum, get a lawyer and clear this whole mess up"

I totally get the phrase “in the wrong place at the wrong time” I’ve used it loads in the past myself, but I don’t anymore…she’s wasn’t, she was simply going about her own day and that monster crossed her path. I hope he has hell in prison. Sure of it. I cannot imagine how frightened she will have been when she realised she was being taken a little too far away and not actually a nearby police station. Then the horrors that followed in the attack. Would totally not trust a policeman approaching me now, no. Especially a lone one. He must surely get a long long sentence.

Pretty sure it’s two here in the UK too. A lot of people don’t know that though so it wouldn’t have crossed her mind.

Thing is though he showed his warrant card which all officers have and most carry even when off duty, which is his proof he is an officer.

If she called 999 they would confirm his warrant number is for an officer. But officers stop people when off duty all the time. I have seen it in my local supermarket and bars.

It just makes it very hard for a woman to know who to trust

Same. As someone who’s never been in bother with the police before in my life, is law abiding and gets quite anxious at the idea of being apprehended, I know that I would have been the same. That poor girl, she just didn’t stand a chance with that beast did she? 💔
