A random female. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time 😰
I know exactly what you’re saying and not digging at your comment but the sad thing is she was in the right place on her way home at a normal time of the evening and that’s the scary thing x

read this earlier

"Met police linked Couzens to abduction and officers went to his home at 5.45pm on March 9. They did not immediately enter as they wanted to be cautious. Couzens deleted his phone history at 7.11pm, and Met entered house at 7.45pm"

Wanted to be cautious??? Cause he was a copper? They weren't bleeping cautious at that vigil but they are cautious with their copper pal that they nicknamed the rapist?! It's beggars belief!

He was visiting escorts it could easily have been one of them, he was in a lot of debt so maybe couldn’t afford them anymore the need for female company must’ve been great 😕

Doesn’t mean that you can’t see escorts/crave a type of female attention!

The met police have a lot to answer for, I can’t believe this guy was still working, given his track record.

Those poor witnesses who saw the arrest too. You wouldn't think twice about it if you saw that. They said they assumed she did something wrong and yeah I don't blame them honestly. I hope they can heal from it

Honestly I feel so sick! It’s made me feel awful today! What a fool! And because he pleaded guilty he’ll get a slightly reduced sentence!!! What a load of tit
I read he won’t get a reduced sentence - pleading guilty doesn’t reduce it for murder

Oh god. I wonder if he had got away with it, would he have done it again to someone else? I read that it is over an hour drive from Clapham to Kent. At some point Sarah must have realised something was terribly wrong. I also read there was someone who witnessed the "arrest" (kidapping) but didn't intervene as they thought Sarah did something wrong. Yikes. I can't imagine how they feel.

If you ever are pulled over by an "officer" and you aren't sure if they are real, call 911/999 to check.

The worst thing is, she didn't know she was being abducted. She thought she was being arrested and taken to a cell. Probably thinking about a lawyer and how she was going to explain and potentially worrying about what an arrest would mean for her. It makes my heart break

My guess would be he would definitely have done it again if he got away with it. Thank god he got caught out.

This has made me very wary and if I ever got approached by a lone policeman, I would be scared now.

I’ve read he took her phone off her and destroyed her SIM card. Never ever hand your phone over to the police!

But he was real so the warrant card number would check out. Would it have made a difference?

If your heart can take it read her family’s full impact statements, mines broke 💔😪😪
I don't know how they had the strength to do that but I'm glad they got to say it to him and made him look at them as they spoke. I hope their words play on repeat in his mind for the rest of his pathetic life.

Susan Everard's impact statement has broken me. Also completely repulsed that colleagues called him 'the rapist' and nothing was done about it. How on earth can you walk around at work being called 'the rapist' with no consequences...it beggars belief
I can’t quite wrap my head around this. A police officer with the nickname “The rapist”. And everyone was just cool with this implication? No one thought “hold on, grape is a very serious crime and this nickname is really inappropriate for an officer”. The force should be really ashamed. This man was a liability before he went on to murder an innocent woman and they did nothing until it was too late.

We are constantly told that if you ever need help in public, seek out a police officer. I’m not sure I would be comfortable after this case if I’m being honest. I might feel better approaching a female officer, but I don’t trust them like I used to which is ducked up.

My heart goes out to Sarah’s family.

I am not familiar with police in the UK.... do they often work "on their own", i.e. a single officer? Here, there are always two.

I've been thinking about this cause realistically he had a warrant card so it's not even like he was a fake police officer.

I think my approach will literally be to request that there are more police on scene cause logically if I was genuinely being arrested they'd be happy to supply more police officers? And honestly just to kick and scream and resist arrest as much as possible so if they are legit they will phone for back up? I'm not sure that's a good plan but it's all I've got

yeah cause of funding.
