We don't know that she said it. We only know that he said she said it, as part of his defence. I don't believe he thinks females become doubly incontinent each month
But the point is she said it was a temporary thing, not that all women always become doubly incontinent every month always.

I agree I think there was a normalised level of violence and beatings for everyone in that house, often from Urfan.

Echoing what some people are saying, when I was little my dad was often out but he still would have known what was going on at home.

US' DNA was on the weapons used to abuse her. His DNA was on the packing tape used to tie her up. Let's see what we get from his cross examination and the testimony and cross examination of BB and FM.

I’m with you. I’ll wait to read the cross examination and those of the others before saying what I think. It’s very often a different story when the defendant is being questioned by someone who isn’t their own representative.

The thing is we’re all finding out as it unfolds. There’s no issue with changing your opinion and no prize for being right. It’s interesting to look at it from different perspectives, even if you hear it then discard it and go back to your own opinion. At the end of the day we all want to see justice for Sara.

I don’t think anybody here is saying otherwise, just that it’s good to wait and hear the other side.

Does anyone know where they’re being held? Wondering if US and his brother are together and able to talk freely.

I know as they’re co-defendants they’re allowed to communicate about the case but if those two are together for part of every day that could give the opportunity for getting stories straight.

This depends what poison has (maybe) been spread by BB. She may have been very convincing and manipulating, saying the boy was also being badly behaved or she was scared of him.

I’m speculating of course but I think anything is possible in this case.

The UK authorities have been trying to have the children returned the whole time I think.
They are until December in their grandfather’s care, then who knows what will happen after that. I’m not sure Pakistan will force the children to return to the UK, as their only close family here are in prison (and the eldest boy’s mum lost custody previously) so arguably they’re better staying where they are. That’s not my opinion, but on paper it could seem that way.
The eldest boy's grandmother lives in Poland I believe, I wonder if she wants to have custody of him. I don't think he should remain in Pakistan (I don't think any of the children should, but especially not the eldest).

They won't be able to associate freely even if they are in the same prison. There is no special dispensation for them to discuss the case. If anything, there will be a concerted effort to keep them apart precisely to stop them from conferring and getting their stories straight. I would be very surprised if they've been able to exchange even a few words since they arrested.

Regarding US being at work most of the time, I forgot to say that given that he's a self-employed taxi driver, he would still have the opportunity to pop home at anytime during the day. He could well have been home often for supper and then out for an evening shift. This isn't someone who was at a fixed place of work for 14 - 15 hours a day.

In his own evidence, he talks about an occasion when he returned home unexpectedly to have dinner before going out for a later job, and finding Sara with her hands tied behind her back with packing tape.

So again, this speaks to it being completely unfeasible that he had no knowledge of the various assaults on Sara and just how severe they were even if you believe that it was all BB - which I don't.

Yes, he even said he was home during the day for a sleep on the days she died. In fact, I think with the injuries she had that day he's really landed himself in it with that because he said she was washing up when it's highly unlikely that she'd have been able to stand

Maybe she had told Sara there’s no point in going to your dad because he knows & wants me to do these things to you. Abusers are very manipulative. I agree with others, it was BB. Somebody else mentioned US DNA being on the bat because he’d touched it unrelated to the beatings. I also thought this but cannot explain the DNA on the tape. That poor poor little girl having to endure a home life like the one she had. 😭 it breaks my heart.

I think US must have known at least some of what was going on. I can't speak to experiences of growing up with a dad working as I never had one but certainly the father of my sons worked very long hours when they were young and didn't always see them in the evenings but he saw their 'debris' - clothes in the laundry bin, school books, stuf they'd left in the living room, he'd see them on their way to the loo or hear them/see them in passing in the morning....tbh if there'd been evidence of blood, bloody bandages, or they'd been limping or shaky or unwell he WOULD have seen. With young kids, especially active young kids, the evidence of their simply existing in a house is everywhere, not just by sight but by hearing - we could always hear them thundering on the landing and running up and down upstairs (why ARE boys so unbelievably heavy footed lol), talking etc.

For US to argue he knew nothing, for me is about as plausible as Rose West trying to argue that she had zero knowledge of Fred West killing and dismembering 12 women in their basement - it's like nah darling you will hear and smell something even if you are literally walking round with your eyes closed.

I do agree that BB was the ringleader and would not be surprised if she devised some of the more esoteric tortures like the radiator and the hood, out of jealousy and her own evil sadistic nature. As I said before I reckon it will come out that she consumed a lot of media about tortures used on Guantanamo detainees and other war crimes and tried those sick ideas out on Sara. But US is NOT an innocent either!

The account of Sara's dying moments is horrific. She died not in the arms of loving parents but the arms of their abusers. It's horrible, horrible, horrible, these people are LOWER than animals. Especialy BB. bleeping evil manipulative sadist.

Mrs Carberry also showed a video of Sharif with two of the other children four weeks before Sara died, which showed him shaking one of them. Mrs Carberry described Sharif as a “lying, manipulative, controlling man” which he denied.

Scary to think what they all went through

Why were the children allowed back to his care? It beggars belief that he was abusive to his wives and Sara went and lived with him. The foster carer even noticed Sara was wary of him. The poor foster carer probably feels awful too, not like it's any of her fault in any way but she would've witnessed her behaviour and known her personally.

"Mrs Carberry pressed Sharif on one or two of his relationships, both taking place close to his UK visa expiration and involving marriage, or the discussion of marriage."

Marriage of convenience to remain in the UK. Conniving b@stard.

And now there’s evidence of SS dropping the ball - school reporting bruises on a kid and this is the background on file, but they closed the case?

lots of video evidence again, Sara without a hijab and with marks on her neck, hands, face. Uncle Faisal also there. The police have done a good job here, they’re all going down for a long time.
It sounds from this that all of the children were being severely abused. No wonder they were so desperate to get them to Pakistan so that they can’t testify what they went through.
He is such a manipulative character when he was crying in the dock last week and swearing he had no idea such abuse had happened till he was back in the UK and dramatically pointing at Beinash calling her a psycho It did make me think maybe he didn’t know about the more extreme abuse and didn’t participate in it if he was out of the house most of the time but after reading todays update he not only knew he was also responsible for it.
I really hope the other kids are okay. It doesn’t seem right they are with his family.
