this just in - US had recorded abuse by BB and escaped through windows. It’s looking like BB is the crazy abuser, but do we believe that US was the worlds most unlucky Dad? Why did he go to work leaving his kids with that psycho?

He’s still guilty. I have huge sympathy for men who are subjected to domestic violence, but he’s still guilty.

Maybe he was working extremely long hours and genuinely wasn’t home in the daytime, so only saw Sara asleep.

But, he knew BB was volatile and he still left his children in her care.
He didn’t phone an ambulance when he found Sara.
He fled the country and the only reason he came back is because the Pakistani authorities forced him by arresting family members.

So if he was abused by her (BIG if) he and the other grown man in the house couldn’t do anything to prevent it and protect the children from her? They couldn’t between them call the police, ask for help from SS, the children’s school, a community leader?

I don't believe him. I think he was just as involved as her. Abusers often film themselves being attacked, it's classic DARVO.

Also, we've been told, as part of US' defence everything was quiet when he was home. Were these attacks on him silent?

Even if he was a victim of DV, he had agency, he could have saved his child. He could have sent Sara to live with her mother or sent her to Pakistan to be cared for by his family but he chose not to

It was likely happening both ways. Those other children must have seen and heard the most horrific things.

I think all 3 of them are as bad as each other - not one of them raised alarm and let it happen

I suspect that all the parents might be dysfunctional.
US and BB had a whole month in Pakistan to take legal advice, get their stories together, DARVO each other etc. They all flew back together, which suggests either agreement or coercion.
If another child had really killed her, they’d be treated leniently, unless BB was suggesting Sara was murdered by a sibling, but even then why confess to cover up for them?

They’ve both been very calculating to have evidence of blame to the other party - her with texts to her duster and now him with recordings

Don’t shoot me down but I think US is the kind of manipulative abuser that pushes his partners to the point of crazy so he can gaslight them/others into thinking he is the victim. I think with BB he met his match and she’s probably given as good as she got. Instead of them taking a step back and thinking how bad it must be for the kids and will end badly they’ve just blamed poor Sara for everything.

that's what abusers do though, they should have been wiser to it.
It’s always the line that the families were good at hiding it - as if SS expect anyone they confront to go “Oh yeah I’m bang to rights me, I’ve been physically and sexually abusing my children and here is all the evidence in nice wee folder for you.”

Quite apart from the fact it doesn’t actually seem like they were good at hiding it in this case - Sara was attending mainstream school and had noticable bruises.

I’m not buying Sharif’s sob stories at all. I don’t buy the “I was working too many hours and never at home” thing either. Dude you were obviously home enough to give the jury a big description of what a lovely girl Sara was and how much she liked dancing so you obviously did see her at home right? Or were you walking around your own home with your eyes closed? bull.

Having suddenly (and out of character for her family) started wearing hijab and then being withdrawn from school after school asked questions about the bruising!
Exactly. I’m not sure how many red flags they want or need to be honest - and getting the final evidence would have been as simple as insisting on seeing her without her hijab.

The lack of medical attention sought for said bruising, bruising that was obvious enough the teacher noticed, also should have been another red flag especially as it was clearly a head injury and one of the explanations was that she’d fallen.

Apart from being really truly horrible people Sharif and Batool seem to be grade A thickies but think they are smarter than other people. The same as Savannah Brockhill was. Sharif claiming Batoolf set Sara up with hiding tit...again a poster on here correctly speculated that this would be the case. Do I believe Urfan or Batoolf. No, I think they are both responsible. Whichever one was hurting her if it wasn't both, the other didn't care enough to keep that little girl safe. I can believe that the adults, Olga, Sharif and Batool were all awful to each other and that slapping and screaming etc was a regular occurrence. I've also seen the same thing where a man will goad a woman into hitting him or being verbally abusive and then film that and not the run up to it all.

What's Uncle Faisal going to claim? he was always working at Macdonald's and so never saw Sara so didn't notice that she was being tortured most days of the week. Maybe he's another thicky.

Who will be the first to lose their temper with the prosecution during cross examination?

This is such a sad case. I’ve found this random website that has a much more detailed report of what has been said in court if anyone is interested. https://guildford-dragon.com/latest-evidence-in-sara-sharif-trial/
So far I am leaning to the stepmother being the main instigator of the more cruel torture but there is no way the other two did not know. She was covered in burn marks and had broken bones. This abuse had been going on for years it wasn’t just a recent thing that could have been missed. Poor Sara I hope they get their karma.
