Maybe, but that’s not how I read it. Wording on BBC “The most likely cause is manual strangulation with a degree of force, which we would mostly recognise in hanging,” he told the court - so saying that particular injury is indicative of that act.
Presumably that’s what the rope with Sara’s hair in it was used for 
I think this might be the most sadistic case I ever remember reading about. I followed Star Hobson's trial and due to my job I've read a lot of case reviews. This is just beyond any level of understanding. Each new detail is horrifying. Poor poor Sara. How can anyone so full of hate to subject a child to this sort of torture
Yeah, it's confusing. I took it to mean MANUAL strangulation with so much force that it caused an injury that we would normally see in hanging [which isn't manual by definition?] but who knows tbh it's disgusting either way. Monsters.

Yes this is what's disturbing me too - the tortures seem to've been elaborate and carefully thought out, they were enjoying it, enjoying thinking up new methods, imo.

I can’t believe what I am reading. She must have been in unimaginable pain. It’s just too much for one little body to bear. They are monsters!
I’ve been following this case as it’s fairly close to home in terms of where I live. Unfortunately I’ve not been lucky enough to be blessed with children yet. Yet you have these monsters that have tortured poor Sara. That poor child, this case is absolutely horrific and I honestly hope all 3 of those monsters (I won’t refer to them as father, step mother and uncle) suffer for the rest of their lives

Reading along and utterly shocked at the level of abuse inflicted on this little girl. It’s Victoria Climbié levels. She must have suffered so much and been slowly succumbing to her injuries for weeks.

they were doing both - picking her up by her neck, lifting her feet off the floor whilst also strangling her. I think Urfan would be tall and strong enough to do that alone. I thought that would give both types of damage

I am looking forward to hearing the case for the defence. I really can’t see how there is anything that defend these monsters. But, in law, everyone is entitled to a fair trial.

Does anyone know if members of a jury are offered counselling? This case is so distressing I can’t imagine being forced to listen to the evidence for hours at a time.
What annoys me is how my tax money is going to have to keep these three for the next 30-40 years when i'd rather my money go toward better provisions within social services! or better provisions toward those being home schooled like check ups etc, how many other home schooled kids are being abused that nobody knows about? how many are sent abroad and god knows what happens to them.
If anything is offered it won’t be enough. The evidence they’ll have had to see, the things they’ll have to hear about injuries, it’s just horrific.
I hope the jury know that they are amazing. There’s no choice, you can’t just opt out when you hear the case, and you have to sit there day after day with those animals hearing how they tortured a beautiful girl.

There was nothing when I was a juror on a murder trial other than a leaflet giving information on organisations like the Samaritans.
There is a pilot scheme which is being run in 15 courts in the uk. It’s really not enough. Sometimes if you’re on a particularly harrowing trial the judge will give the jurors an exemption from jury service for a while or in some extreme cases for life.

I’m curious about the defence(s). I was going to say I’m surprised none of them have changed their plea when it’s all so damning but I guess the only way to stop the trial is if they all change their pleas to guilty, and that’s never going to happen.
The good (not good, but you know what I mean) thing about there not being one sole injury or incident means that they don’t have the challenge of differing verdicts for the three of them. It’s all contributed and it’s all serious.
I think it's awful no counseling is offered, this is not a case you would forget about ever. I'm haunted by it already and I don't need to sit through a trial and hear all these awful things. I can't believe what they were doing to her, it makes me feel so sick. That poor girl.
