Lewis also owns his struggles and is open about them, which endears so many people to him and gets him positive attention. He never plays the victim while doing so.
I’m not familiar with his music but I have nothing but respect for him as a person as a result.
Lewis's secret, apart from making big ballads that resonate with a lot of people, is that he's really, really funny, and always the first to joke about his flaws.

This is his most famous tweet - the Capaldi/Smith interface.

Oh I see, a Quing is both Queen and King. How inventive. Well you learn something new and pretentious every day.

I think he should have gone with Kunt or Qunt, whever floats his boat today.

The gross thing about that bondage wrapped pic is that you know his arsehole is hanging out, and it looks like it’d stink

Saw Smith on TV today an old clip saying he enjoys fishing and would like to be a fisherTHEM, the guys an absolute twat, and needs to be cancelled, stop giving him the attention he craves. 🤮
There is in fact an ungendered word for that. Call yourself an angler, Sam.

I actually feel a wee bit sorry for him. He was always about his voice and his music, his actual talent. This is just horrible. I just don’t understand why this display is necessary to promote his music. It’s not fashion, it’s not original, it’s not creative 🤷🏻‍♀️

When George Michael was caught soliciting sex in a public toilet he was absolutely raked over the coals. People/the press calling him a deviant, sick, perverted and worse.

Reminds me of something 🤔
George absolutely owned that as well, (and epically) and it didn’t result in him getting the nips out and simulate pishing on his dancers 😅

Maybe there’ll be a new version of Chaka Khans ‘I’m every woman’ - it will be called ‘I’m every they/them’.

You can hear the presenters on radio 1 take a breath and pause before they say his pronoun cos they're so scared of getting it wrong and their whole career ending.

Yeah sam is perpetuating steriostypes that only hot bods can dance. Not good.

No Owen dear ppl aren't shocked, they find the piss drinking grim. Sam objectively looks terrible and that's not purely because they them are massively overweight. I don't care what others do in private, but keep it in private
Tbh if how have owen Jones in your corner maybe you do have a problem. Shut up Owen speaking for all of the gay community, you sure as hell don't represent me. He is also a fine one to talk with his recent switch to topless insta photos of himself.

What I don't get is why society is so keen to accept Sam's type of behaviour. If he came out glamourising smoking I suspect there would be uproar. But we are fine with normalising obesity, apparent violence etc. Nobody should be mocked of humiliated for being over weight, but we are in an obesity epidemic and normalising it is dangerous.

And re the whole non-binary thing - there are many different ways to be non-binary. For example, I'm male but don't identify with many "traditional" male things - i.e. I bloody hate football. I guess that would make me a "brainwashed loon" to some...
I thought non binary was when someone doesn’t identify with any gender? Surely they are just not identifying with a gender stereotype? Are we really there though? Not being interested in “traditional male things” doesn’t make anyone any less of a male? Doesn’t make them non binary.

I completely echo all the comments about having to put a label on everything or fit into a box. I’m not interested in traditional female things, doesn’t make me any less of a female. In secondary school, my sister shunned every female stereotype, by her 20s she was the opposite.

People like what they like, eccentricity is still a thing, people will always rebel against the perceived “norm”. I just don’t see why everything demands a label and improper use of the English language 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m all for being more accepting of others, truly, but it’s reached the point of nonsense.

Back to Sam, he’s an attention seeking, spoilt brat, in my opinion.

Some commentator, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, made an Instagram post yesterday calling out the fatphobia inherent in the response to the video, going so far as to compare the crown/corset/pasties/jockstrap outfit with a still from Harry Styles's Music For A Sushi Restaurant video, where Harry wears a coral crown, strings of pearls, is bare chested and has a mermaid tail.

There are indeed correlations between both images, but Harry isn't drawing attention to his crotch in the video. And in my opinion Harry is more conventionally good looking than Sam. And yes he is a physically fit young man.

Aside from the physical differences between them, the subjects of both videos are wildly different. Harry's video isn't overtly sexual and I don't believe he is trying to be sexy. Whereas, Sam is.

I think it's perfectly ok to not find a person attractive, we all like different things/find different things attractive.

I have said it before, I'm not Sam's target audience, so whether I find him sexy or consider him sexy is entirely moot.

I just don't like the song. Don't like the subject of the video and really don't think allusions to golden showers belong in a music video.

I posted this on the brits thread so thought I’d share it here too 😂

Im sorry if this sounds really offensive but I just don’t get Sam Smith anymore. Like I get what he’s trying to do but he just doesn’t suit it! He looks like a comedy sketch of someone trying too hard. He’s got no rhythm or sex appeal and the whole production he’s doing right now doesn’t suit him in my opinion😖

I can remember when they seemed like they were going to be huge, I honestly thought they were the next Adele. Even now I still love their voice. But the publicity stunts they pull seems to get more and more tacky, real bottom feeding stuff  and it makes it very hard to take their music seriously. It’s all quite sad, really. Hope they come to the realisation that tacky stunts are not the way to the top.

Imagine for a minute your neighbour, regardless of whether they were male or female or non-binary, was dressed like that and gyrating like that...you'd cross the street to avoid them, everyone would. Yet when Sam does it, it's "empowering" hmmmm.
