I think he has sold his soul, honestly. He used to dress stylishly in his early career now he looks like a pimp in that coat. It seems like he is trying to court attention rather than letting his voice speak for itself.

That is rather sad if true.
He does give the impression of going along with what others have told him is a good direction (whether that’s management, stylists, or others). He certainly doesn’t look like he’s enjoying it or having fun with it at all.

I don’t really have an opinion on them or know much about them tbh, although I wasn’t impressed with the lockdown crying about how tough the restrictions were when life was considerably harder for many more people.

I find it a bit funny as someone who was a goth/alternative type in the 80’s and a glam rocker in the early 90’s and who’s had more blokes in make up and hairspray than you could shake a sequinned stick at that a load of online scolds think they can preach at people and make unreasonable demands.
You must have your head in the sand if you think Gaga, Madonna, Cardi B and so on haven’t had any flack about similar things. They absolutely did, deservedly so in some cases.

Good point tho. If Sam promotes body positivity and is happy in his own skin and identity it would be a been nice to have diverse people dancing and drinking piss instead of all the typical hot bods.

Yes this! You nailed it, it does seem joyless. If I thought they really believed and felt the way they are presenting it'd be different but this feels so miserable and forced. I hope they've still got some decent and honest support somewhere but it looks very unlikely at this point.

Had friends who were there - 4 songs - lights went out while they were singing. Venue asked everyone to stay put while it was resolved. Couldn’t - so gig cancelled. I see that they’ve said it was vocal issues now.
There has been criticism elsewhere - not on here - about people were stopped from leaving while venue were trying resolve issues.
Reasons for stopping people leaving include - invalidated any refund. If you leave a gig during the gig for any reason there’s no refund - even if it’s stopped. Until the venue / promoter say it’s cancelled - it’s not cancelled.
Safety - emptying a venue the size of the Manchester Arena requires planning & resources - it’s different to an evacuation and usually involves police & transport police ( given its near a railway station & centre of the city) it can take a bit of time to mobilise if earlier than expected but not an emergency.
As a regular gig goer, event staff are always brilliant & not on loads of £££. Some of them were likely on a break 4 songs in so it annoys me that people elsewhere are slagging them off for not “knowing what was going on etc etc especially so close to the anniversary of the attack” Linking it too the attack is just wrong in my eyes when staff were trying to do their job.
Tickets on sale for Birmingham at less than 50% via ticketing resell sites…
