If you identify as non binary, can you be gay? Someone please educate me. My understanding is that if you identify as non binary, you don’t align with any sex, so if you’re sexless can you be homosexual? I’m old and confused 🫤
I truely believe those that say they are non binary haven't a clue themselves, it's just a fad for attention.
Why they just don't say I'm gay, which the majority of NB seem to be.

I had an argument with a women that was a les but insisted she wasn't a women and that she was non binary and a they /them, and they think we're the mad gender phobics, nutters the lot of them.

I find this generation peculiar, why does everyone insist on being put into a box? Why do they need to have a label applied that declares they consider themselves to be male/female/a toaster? Can they not just like what they like, or feel how they feel without shoving it down the throats of relative strangers? I’ve never been the girl into nails and hair but I also don’t want a water snake in my trousers, do I have to declare myself as non binary because I didn’t pick a stereotype to hold aloft as my entire personality?

I haven’t ever given two hoots whether someone refers to me as miss, mrs, she, he, they, queen of sheba or megacunt my self worth is not tied up in a salutation, and I find it baffling that grown-up toddlers throwing tantrums whilst playing dress-up are not only tolerated but borderline worshipped…… it’s just so bizarre
I dunno, not sure it’s a generation thing - I have a friend who is in his 40s who told me a long time ago that he liked wearing women’s clothes. He now tells me he is trans. I was like, no, you just have a fetish for cross dressing. He is married with kids.

Just out of interest (not trying to start an argument 😂) but what makes you say that? Is it their weight? Their personality? The fact that their image has changed so much? Or that it simply doesn’t suit him?

Someone like Harry Styles seems to be better liked and can get away with slightly more outrageous outfits. Is it just because he’s more cool? Better looking? Slimmer?

I’m not challenging you, I’m just intrigued myself because I definitely find Harry more palatable and I don’t know why!
Harry seems comfortable with his outfits, I think it suits him and he has certainly been successful in moving away from the teen boy band look.

it doesn’t suit Sam, I think he has a good voice but he doesn’t seem happy or comfortable in what he wears.

I think the difference between sam
And harry is, harry isn’t trying to be sexual. Harry just dresses a bit ‘outlandish’. He is’nt out there in bondage gear and rubbing his nipples constantly

All this non binary balls, it’s either very clever marketing, getting him in the public eye, or he’s got mental health issues. Probably the latter.

“I wanted to give you the heads up”. “Polite reminder”. GTFO. All this compelled speech nonsense in the trans and non binary community and their AlLiEs is just eye rolling and so passive aggressive. You don’t mean anything politely at all. He’s a bloke. End of.
Very passive aggressive I agree.

I saw a local radio presenter Get pulled up for this, indeed the presenter said they and the accuser soon shut up. It’s almost like people are out there waiting to abuse folk for making mistakes when they’ve been so used to pre-norms.

Some of us are bleeping trying after decades of being brought up otherwise. Give us a break with your demands. Mistakes happen. You’re asking us to remember many pronouns when we’ve been brought up with two. I can barely bloody remember names as much as I try. I’m not being a head intentionally.

That’s it though. Demands. It’s always “we demand this and we demand that”. Demand what you like. Doesn’t exactly win people over.

Exactly. Humans naturally rebel and disrespect when aggressive demands are made

The way I see it is that I will try to use these pronouns but I can’t really blame myself or anyone else for using grammar correctly, as we were taught at school and as children. ‘They’ and ‘them’ doesn’t work in vocabulary very well so it’s not exactly ignorance, it’s a technical skill everyone now has to learn

Honestly reading a newspaper article was a minefield this morning, half way through I didn’t know who in the story the article was referring to anymore. It doesn’t work very well.

I’m in my 30’s as is my brother, he likes to wear eyeliner and heeled boots and a looooot of leopard print, but he’s also a happily married man with a VERY high profile job who knows he likes women.

They all seem to have confused eccentricity for gender signposting, “I didn’t like being forced into one of two gender boxes therefore I’ll make my own box and if you don’t fit into those first two then you MUST be in my new one!” Why does anyone need a bloody box at all, it all seems so self-defeatist, soon we’ll have 83 different genders as people increasingly find they don’t like the gender boxes on offer and keep creating more 🤦🏻‍♀️ if the labelling and quantifying of self worth stopped perhaps they’d find contentment instead of contention

I don't feel anyone would have an issue with that as you're trying, as you say. I think the problem is when people get the pronouns wrong thinking it's funny, as have quite a few on here and social media over the last few days re Sam. That's quite pathetic.

And re the whole non-binary thing - there are many different ways to be non-binary. For example, I'm male but don't identify with many "traditional" male things - i.e. I bloody hate football. I guess that would make me a "brainwashed loon" to some...

And why are they so vicious with anyone who doesn't agree with them. Maybe I'm old, but I thought the left were supposed to be the tolerant ones.

I thought non binary was when someone doesn’t identify with any gender? Surely they are just not identifying with a gender stereotype? Are we really there though? Not being interested in “traditional male things” doesn’t make anyone any less of a male? Doesn’t make them non binary.

I completely echo all the comments about having to put a label on everything or fit into a box. I’m not interested in traditional female things, doesn’t make me any less of a female. In secondary school, my sister shunned every female stereotype, by her 20s she was the opposite.

People like what they like, eccentricity is still a thing, people will always rebel against the perceived “norm”. I just don’t see why everything demands a label and improper use of the English language 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m all for being more accepting of others, truly, but it’s reached the point of nonsense.

Back to Sam, he’s an attention seeking, spoilt cat, in my opinion.
