Sali Hughes #11 A red lip, a pink tight, a leopard boot - how very singular!

Ugh they are so annoying. Lots of people simply cannot afford to have the oven on for 2 hours to cook the famed jacket potato much as they would love to. Or to cook other meals that take a long time. Electricity being a bit of a luxury for some. I would've thought SH who is all over period poverty would realise that.
And the medicalisation (is that a word?) of menopause was apparent on her podcast. No other options other than HRT even mentioned. Even when a woman sent a question SPECIFICALLY saying she couldn't use it due to breast cancer, they suggested she look again as there was bound to be a form that was suitable. Quite dangerous imo.

Ahhhhh .....
hahaha the microwave chat! I win because I don't own a microwave or even a toaster. No tit! I make toast on the grill and heat up on my job (ok....side note....not die to moral superiority or nana-ness, my kitchen is too tiny for any gadgets...life in southern Europe lol!) 🤣😘

I also use multi-purpose brow gels for lubricating my baked beans before I heat them, stupendous how Maybelline can flip function!

If they use microwaves so rarely why dont they just donate them so that they can be useful whilst sitting on their moral high horses

Just to reiterate what Aude said, I had very bad perimenopause symptoms hitting from 45 onwards. Absolutely crippling incredibly heavy weeks-long periods, tingling in my fingers, nightsweats, being hot all the time, sudden feelings of doom - a really chemical weird sensation - that I was able to observe in a fairly detachable way. My mother had gone through all of this and it was at the time of particular concern about the increased risk of breast cancers and dual hormone HRT (particularly tablets, which flood the body, rather than targeted patches) and she missed the window and really regrets it.

I eat very very healthily , run long distance, meditate, drown in my own kefir and kombucha etc etc and keep a really regular sleep schedule. I've had Asherman's Syndrome followed by two babies so I am used to what obs pain can be like but this was awful and hard to live with.

The NHS referral took a while (including a young male doctor telling me 'it's what women have to put up with' - thanks!) but after a year or so and a couple of hospital appointments and a mirena coil and estradiol patches I feel great. Basically the absence of all those symptoms makes me feel great. Still get some period pain and lower moods but it's all in a normal range, very mild in fact.

On a side note, it is a great pity that endocrinology doesn't overlap more with gynaecology and psychiatry because I suspect that many women's mental health issues have a strong hormonal etiology. They get told they're depressed or bipolar or BPD when in fact hormone dysfunction is at play.
After severe PND and OCD I’ve got to wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying about the link to hormones and mental health. It’s a bit woo-woo at times but Maisie Hill’s Period Power is an absolute game changer for me. It’s well regarded that the pre menstrual period can be difficult but I invariably have a tough time around ovulation... I get anxious and down and sometimes feel like I’m going mad... it’s like my body is not totally in balance and then it just stops as soon as it’s started. I will certainly be teaching my daughter to be very in tune with her body and mind throughout her cycle.

😁😁I find it highly amusing that Sali Hughes has the absolute nerve to criticise us Tattlers and this site using “where do they find the time” amongst other musings when she is so aggressive, condescending and up for any argument about anything at any time of the day , where does she find the time to be such an unpleasant know it all?
She’s constantly on Twitter .

Or so jt seems to me as I am not on twitter and just hear about it from Tattle because I can’t be assed doing deep research .

Any thread name suggestions ?

Some Chanel related and NOT AN AD ?!? I think there were some ideas down thread ..... can’t remember now 🙄

The much 'liked' title suggestion upthread from @PineappleQueen19 was:

'This is not a thread. Not paid for, not sponsored, nor required by Sali Hughes'

SH is so fricking condescending and brittle. She is deliberately combative with everyone on Twitter that doesn’t share her exact opinion. I actually don’t like Kirstie Allsop but that ‘discussion‘ re Meghan Markle, FFS. SH is one of those people who is just deliberately obtuse to try and get a rise out of people, then she pokes and pokes. Vile trait.

Then claims they are talking about two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT things and *swishes away*. I'm sure I've seen that tactic before!

Yes - good point. If all you do is heat up dog food and takeaway scraps why not indeed give it to people who could use it for possibly the only chance of a hot meal. If you are on a meter ovens are expensive to run.

possibly because none of her ‘mates’ (read: tick brigade) were jumping in for a gangbang on KA. We all know she likes a mass bully sesh.

She hasn’t posted for five days now.
isn’t she ‘on tour’ 😭

These two twitter exchanges are a bit Let them eat cake (or dog food) for my liking.
Having a microwave gets me more free time to post about deluded influencers.

It's the same depressing sneeriness levelled at 'nasty' supermarket perfumes and smellies. It just makes people feel bad and inferior that they try to make an effort but can't afford better. Poverty isn't just about the incredibly poor that can't afford sanitary protection or any toiletries - but a grinding hand to mouth existence when the bulk of your wages immediately goes on rent/bills and every pound is eked out and precious. On the face of it everything looks OK but it is precarious.

I would say SH and IK are champagne socialists but they barely make any effort to hide their disdain towards those who aren't moneyed (IK in particular)
