This is what my husband thinks too. I could never understand when they went away on trips, they never seemed to go for dinner, or do anything else about from taking photos of ice cream, bikes and sunsets. He thought that they didn’t have spare cash, and that’s why they buy food from supermarkets and go back and watch Netflix in their free hotel room.

Out of curiosity I had a look at some of Grabby’s early blog posts. She used to do a lot of making things herself and wait for it... paid for stuff! Or in her words, ‘brought’ stuff. Though had her wedding on a Thursday to save themselves (read: Mumma and Daddy) £8000.

The worst is EVERY Christmas when she bangs on about how utterly amazing her family are. She insists on recreating her childhood- staying at her parents for the entire weeek and shouting "he's beeeeeeeen" on Christmas morning. They squeeze in an hours visit with poor bens family who clearly aren't insta worthy at all and perhaps don't have a pretty house, or whisper it - maybe not very wealthy.

I think Rebecca has a highly addictive personality and is completely addicted to social media praise and free stuff. She cannot keep away from it.
Her family don’t have the polished, confident look of old money about them. Neither does her husband by any stretch! Rebecca was probably a nice, normal girl from an aspirational family who owned a profitable small business. They worked hard and did well for themselves.
However, her Instagram feed is a cos play of how she believes very wealthy people spend their time and money.
The travel, the house, the clothes, the garden - none of it is authentic. She only posts for three reasons: to incite envy, to beg, to shill. Properly posh people don’t need to do that.
She has replaced an eating disorder with a social media addiction. It’s no way to live one’s life.
Social media is probably damaging Rebecca just as much as it is damaging her followers.

I completely agree, definitely not old money by any stretch, that is evident (and as mentioned previously none of the confidence of old money) but her parents have clearly done well for themselves and she is completely dining out on their success. I wonder what her brother does?
She’s doing what she thinks all rich people do: covering every wall in Farrow and Ball, driving a Range Rover, buying peonies and going on all the holidays! I heard an expression once that applies here: money shouts, wealth whispers...
Or she wants us to think she’s loaded but then again watching Netflix in the Maldives rather than savouring what is on offer could tell a different story?!
Maybe staying out of restaurants, and not drinking is related to her eating disorder. I’m not saying that not drinking alcohol is a bad thing. But I love seeking out the food of the country I am visiting and trying places that would cater for locals, not tourists.
She’s previously ‘outed’ her parents (and I think Aging Lothario’s) for having issues with alcohol, and claims that’s why neither of them drink. How kind of her. I expect AL is secretly necking cans of Stella in the garage when she’s too engrossed in staging a photo for Instagram
Her wealth or lack of it isnt really the issue most of us have with her. There are many rich people online with instagram accounts who dont belittle others, show no compassion, boast, beg, patronise and seem so discontent with everything they have. I think this is the real issue. We dont want to focus on her wealth as this makes us all seem jealous and bitter which i dont think any of us are.
Been following virtually since she joined she joined insta. From the same part of the world, know a couple of the same people. Never met her, don't know her personality.
